It's not as if Berlu wrote the book on scruples to begin with, so why wouldn't he turn this into a political opportunity and paint Man City as the bad guys with their bloated asking price, then look like a hero himself when announcing that Kaka will be staying? Personally, I think it makes a load of sense.

Also, the one thing that kept me from taking this whole shebang seriously from the start was the 500k-a-week offer. No one in their right mind would spend $100+ million on a player and pay them a salary of $2 million a month. That's just ludicrous, no matter how fat your bankbook is.

That would be a new low. Even for Berlusconi and Galliani. mellow.gif At the very least I want this transfer window to be over as soon as possible. I'll get my sleep back for the next six months. Sheesh.

screw silvio and finnivest. This is a club not a merchandising business. They cannot afford it then we'll make them sell it. I want the next arab billionare in milan asap. If were forgetting family values then f*** everything else too. We have already destroyed our name so theres nothing more that we have.

Very true

As for Silvio, like I said before, he knows how to bend everything around to accomodate him and he knows how to feed people information he wants them to know.

I think it's all a waiting game now.

But whether this whole fiasco was engineered by Silvio or not, I'm sure Kaka won't appreciate being used this way, and he won't appreciate having a price on his head. He will leave in the summer if he doesn't this January. And personally I wouldn't hold a grudge if he does push for a transfer come summer.

No matter how this ends...there's one thing I'm convinced of. ManCity owner is destroying football. He's destroying footballs very soul. I hate that guy for doing that. He has no clue about football whatsoever. he doesn't know anything about history, prestige, dignity... Shame on you Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. At long last, have you left no sense of decency?

Galliani: Kaka solves credit crunch

Milan general manager Adriano Galliani was verbally abused by angry fans, but explains why he would never have sold Kaka a year ago and is now reconsidering.

“Milan and Kaka have not signed anything with Manchester City. As for me, I have the same feelings as the fans and love this club, but as general manager I have to keep sentiment and reasoning together.

“I believe a football club should live off its own resources and not a magnate, as when the patron is no longer able or willing to spend immense sums, things can crumble.”

Galliani was in the stands for Saturday night’s 1-0 win over Fiorentina and at half-time had to be protected by stewards as hoards of furious supporters shouted abuse and waved cash at the transfer guru.

He had said a year ago when Real Madrid made a record-breaking offer that he did not want to be remembered as the man who sold Kaka.

With £108m on the table Galliani is now apparently willing to accept that fate in the Rossoneri history books.

“Nothing has happened to push him towards Manchester. We are in a particularly difficult time with financial problems all over the world and those spread to football.

“What has changed from a year ago? Quite simply, the world is worth half of what it was. Things have changed.”

At the final whistle, all the Milan players took turns to hug Kaka in what felt increasingly like a farewell.

The banners at San Siro ranged from ‘Ricky, grow old with us’ and ‘This is your home’ to insults against the club.

Newspapers have suggested a shopping list with the £108m, including Emmanuel Adebayor, Gael Clichy and Michael Essien, but Galliani warned the money would not be splashed out.

“It is impossible to replace Kaka and there is no point getting a second-rate player. If he leaves then we would go on without him, but Kaka has not left yet.”

“There is no point making hypotheses over what Milan would do with the money, now we have to consider what to do.

“There are debts and they have to be paid. I think a virtuous club should cover its expenses with its own income.

“Unfortunately football is built in a certain way so now you cannot carry on without the cheques from a patron, as other clubs keep on raising the financial bar.”

Milan’s money comes from patron Silvio Berlusconi, but as he has been elected Prime Minister of Italy, he cannot direct so many resources to the side.

Galliani seemed tired and down after the 1-0 victory and emerged to hundreds of fans chanting slogans against his administration.

“No, it will not be an easy night for me, nor will those to come.”

So silvio is not going to spend or is not willing to spend? It seem s to me he has got all he could out of Milan and has lost his interest in it. Perhaps he should sell up to someone who is willing to invest in this great club and make it great once again?!?

Brilliant idea, perhaps he should sell it right to the sheiks of Arabia. That way Kaka can stay!!

Thing is everything we have been led to believe(Milan family, not selling best players etc) has all been a pack of lies and we're no different to any other club. In fact without berlusconi's money what is the point of him being here? I'd sooner someone take over who had some ambition and some financial clout to back themselves up. It seems berlusconi doesn't need Milan anymore.

Is £108m Kaka bid a hoax?

Manchester City sources suggest the £108m offer for Kaka is a “ridiculous” story drummed up by the media and Milan also refuse to state the figures.

“There is an official bid on the table and it has gone through all the proper channels, but I will not tell you what it entails,” said general manager Adriano Galliani.

The Observer newspaper has made remarkable allegations that Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi's media empire sparked the rumours so that he would gain positive publicity when Kaka turned it down.

If the Brazilian does quit San Siro, then the club can say it was because of a record-shattering transfer fee that more than doubles the £46m paid by Real Madrid for Zinedine Zidane from Juventus.

However, the reports in the English newspapers claim Manchester City's offer is closer to £50m than £108m.

"The reports are absolutely ridiculous and so far wide of the mark it's unreal," said a source close to City owner Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

"Kaka would command a price around that of previous world-best players. But at the moment it is difficult to pick an exact number.

"A hundred million, in pounds or Euros, is ridiculous. It doubles the previous record for a transfer and, in the current economic climate, how could there possibly be a return on that or a salary of £500,000 a-week?

“You could do so much else with that amount of money. And, whatever happens, there would be no lump sum payment: payments would be over time.

"You have to remember also that the player has not even been spoken to by us - he is simply one of a list that interests Mark Hughes.

“We merely said, 'Ok, this might be nice.' It's a process like viewing a house. If you like what you see, then you take it on a stage. It should be remembered that Manchester City's owner is an intelligent man. He will not just throw money at anything.”

Intellectual property rights are another sticking point that could be worth £20m per year for Kaka, as he already has sponsorship deals with Armani and Adidas.

Some people here are really fast when it comes to convictions of something. And some of you also have a very special choice of the things you believe and those you don't. Some article says "Milan sell Kaká for 55 million" -->You believe it. Another article says "Kakás father wants him at ManCity"-->It's a dirty lie.

Do you really believe this?A pack of lies? Hasn't there been enough prove for it in the past? Sheva came back while he could have earned more money in Arabia. We sticked to Pippo, Ambro etc. while we didn't have to. And didn't Pippo pay that confidence back in Athens? Why do so many players still feel connected with Milan although they're not playing for us any more like Rui Cost for example? Oh I know...cause it's all a lie.

I'd rather see the club in the midfield of Serie A than being some Sheiks (or Russian oil baron or whatever) toy. FACT!

But it was ok when berlusconi used Milan to gain popularity. Oh the irony.

Fact is that berlusconi didn't do what he did for the love of Milan, more so that his popularity would increase and that is a fact.

I've never been a fan of Berlusconi which I stated numerous times. And what you say...it's true. He used the club to increase his own popularity. But he also created an image of the club which we all came to like. If some other guy takes over...this will all be gone and we're simply going to be one of those newly rich clubs. Are we in a bad situation? Yes. Can it be much worse? Certainly.

Dude..forget Galliani. It's all Silvio don't you see. The financial crisis has hit us ok? Banks will no longer offer us the same lines of credit. And remember clubs don't get paid till the end of the season. Till then they have to run right? Now if Silvio has told Galliani to run the club on his own, then certain decisions will have to be made. We could like some suggested sell off Emerson, Favalli etc... all the 'freeloaders', but that would probably pay two months of bills.

I think Pana is right. Finninvest has put the brakes on Silvio's expenditure.Remember it's not Silvio but Finninvest who run Milan and Finninvest board can outvote Silvio anytime. They allow him his little toys. Like Ronaldo for 10 million, but they're a company out to make profit. Sad as it is, I guess we should accept that.

I'm talking about how he likes to be disliked! like Saywer in Lost! (have you watched it?). "If he leaves then we would go on without him" wtf does that mean? don't you really feel like punching him in the eye? because, no matter if he's lying or telling the truth, I do innocent.gif

QUOTE (Panama Devil @ Jan 17 2009, 11:44 PM) *
I want to say something...AGAIN!!!

If you keep track of Kaka's actions, when AC Milan played Manchester City last year, Kaka said that he loved the atmosphere there, etc, etc, etc.

Did you here Pato, Pirlo, Gattuso, anybody besides Kaka say that? He was already calling for this!!!

What were the reasons behind this?

When Real Madrid tried to catch him he didn't say NO right away. We was elusive and not clear in his answers. He said that Real Madrid would be a nice place to play. Well, I can buy that!!! Nobody can deny Real Madrid's history and trophies.

BUT MANCHESTER CITY?????

History?
No CL at least till 2010-2011?
Near relegation?
Trophies?

I DON'T THINK SO...WHO THE ELL WANTS TO GO AND PLAY THERE UNLESS IT IS FOR MONEY.

Promises of a big project?

Have you ever heard Kaka saying with such a great interest that Barcelona, Manchester United, Arsenal, or any other BIG team he has played against, is a great place to be besides Real Madrid.

MANCHESTER CITY????

I'm sad to say this but everything ends up in the same place: MONEY, MONEY, MONEY!!!

It's such a BIG OFFER for AC Milan to refuse. This is a team but is also a business. The truth is that Kaka himself was calling for this since last year. He caught interest in a team with no history, a team that may become successful only because of money and not because of brotherhood, heart and dignity. An ARTIFICIAL TEAM WITH NO SOUL...

JUST BECAUSE MONEY CAUGHT HIS ATTENTION ... HONESTLY I REALLY THINK HE WAS GUILTY FOR THIS ... JUST AS SHEVA DID IT IN THE PAST. HE IS GIVING EMPTY ANSWERS AND COMMENTS.

The big question we need to ask ourselves is if there's another reason besides the money that made him want to go out. There must be something besides the money that made Sheva and now Kaka want to move.

Sheva proved he committed a mistake and now Kaka is willing to do it too.

Again, the main reason for Kaka to leave is money ... he goes to church but he's not a saint, he's a human being and got tempted.

Money, money, money!!!

IF KAKA DOESN'T WANT TO GO THERE WHY HE HASN'T COME OUT AND SAY : "I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE, I WANT TO STAY HERE i LOVE MILAN"

WHY THE HELL WE HAD TO TRY TO UNDERSTAND WHAT HE MEANS WHEN HE TALKS: SAY YES OR NO. IF YOU DON'T SAY NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ITS BECAUSE THERE'S A YES.

YOU BELONG TO MONEY. IF HE JUST SAYS NO AND THAT'S IT WE WILL ALL KNOW THAT BERLUSCONI'S GREEDINESS IS SELLING HIM NOT BECAUSE HE WANTS TO GO.

Wait amigo, he also said, in the very same interview, that as long as the club want him, and the objectives remain the same [which is Milan winning], he will stay. he said those things too. WHY don't you mention that?

And also, he said "maybe one day". in my opinion that means "one day, when City are a force to be reckoned with/when City are playing in the CL/etc. [I will leave IF they don't want me around anymore]" not "one day when City are fighting relegation" rolleyes.gif do you really think he's THAT STUPID to leave Milan for THIS City?
