I'd take anyone at this stage, if we make it against a team like Chelsea then I seriously would believe that we can make it.

What worries me is the fact that we can't seem to find any scoring form in Europe apart from Kaka. 2 strikers is essential or at least push Kaka all the way up as a striker with Seedorf behind if we want to play 2 DMFs.

4 more games seperate us from the thing that was taken away from us in 2005, let's all hope for the best and hopefully some luck.

I am personally worried, the problems we're having in attack is what really concern me, but we'll see. Any team that we could come up against have their pros and cons

Chelsea: They are a strong team but I've been watching a lot of their games this season and they are very beatable, especially if Terry is not 100%, does anyone know for how much long he will be out? They don't seem like they have any idea whatsoever when they come forward, all they do is hope for a diflected Lampard shot to go in or a piece of Brilliance from Drogba or Robben. I think we can take them over 2 legs.

Liverpool: They are basically being hyped up because they knocked out Barca who where not being helped by the refs and have been p!ss poor all season. They are however a very strong team, they don't play football, just pressure and lunge at every ball they see. We would have big problems against them.

Man U: Carlo has out smarted SAF on numerous occasions, both home and away, we aren't as strong as we where when we met them last but Man U are terrible in Europe and got lucky on numerous occasions against Lille. Again, like Chelsea I think we can beat them over the 2 legs.

Valencia: They aren't as good in the CL as they are in La Liga and if we are going to be honest Inter where the better side over the 2 legs. I personally believe that we can take these guys, even though they have some great players on their team.

PSV aka our biggest headache: These guys can be tricky b@stards. They play the true form of catanecchio. Just like they did us last season in the San Siro when they literally built a wall infront of their goal and away from home they kept hittung us on the counter. If we are smart about it we can beat them, but the combination of our toothless attack and their defensive resolve I think we would struggle a lot to knock them out.

Roma: The team that I fear the most, we haven't been able to beat them once this year, all be it on all of the occasions they have been very lucky (Totti off side goal in Serie A and Dida gifting them 3 goals in the Coppa). They are definately the dark horses, and even though I acknowledge that Lyon have been p!ss poor lately they should still get the merit they deserve. Totti wants us because we haven't been able to beat them this season, but the guy needs to know that Europe and Italy are 2 different thing especially when Milan is involved I hope that if we do get them his comments come back to bite them on their @ss.

Bayern: They have been cr@p all season, just like us and they defeated an even cr@ppier team to get here. Bayern are basically our b!tches and I think they could be our easiest ride into the semi's although I would still have my doubts about us actually being able to score to knock them out. But since the even worse Real could put 4 past them then I think even Gila would have a shot at scoring

The only thing I would like to see in the draws is 2 English sides being drawn together so we would have a gaurantee that one of the 3 will definately get knocked out. I don't have any preferences for who we should get I think we'll be up against it against anyone of those teams and the competition is wide open now

Good points han. I fear Roma the most too, they've proved this season they can put us down easily. And besides, IMO they play the most beautiful football in Europe at the moment. My preference is still Liverpool. I've always dreamed facing them again after Istanbul and this is a golden opportunity. We'll just have to wait and see what happens tomorrow.

I think so far the draws have been very friendly towards us unlike previous seasons were we had to endure teams like Barca and Bayern even in the groups.

And if we make it to the semi final and Man U manage to knock Roma out by a dodgy free-kick then I think we have a very good chance of another final

Yes!! Football gods are good to us this season. We have a great chance to go through (although we shouldn't underestimate Bayern) and in semi final anything could happen. Chelsea vs Valencia will be interesting.

Ancelotti: Beware of Bayern

Milan Coach Carlo Ancelotti has underlined that Bayern Munich will be difficult to beat in the last eight of the Champions League.

The Rossoneri were drawn against the German club on Friday, but the tactician is aware that facing the side who knocked Real Madrid out of the competition will be problematic.

“Bayern are one of the strongest sides amongst the top eight, they have a great tradition and are a very physical side,” commented Ancelotti after the draw.

“They had some difficulties during the winter months, but then were able to eliminate Real Madrid. It will be a very balanced tie as they are one of the hardest teams to face,” continued the player.

“They have a very good Coach [Ottmar Hitzfeld] and he has proved his qualities in the two-legged match with Real. However, I am glad we didn’t draw Roma or Manchester United.”

Milan and Bayern have 10 European crowns between them and met most recently in the first knockout round of last season’s competition, when the Italian side won 5-2 on aggregate.

The quarter-final line-up also saw Chelsea paired with Valencia and PSV Eindhoven with Liverpool, while Roma will meet Manchester United.

Should both Italian sides prove victorious then they will meet in an all Italian European Cup semi-final.

“It would be stimulating to play Roma as it would mean that an Italian club would be sure to play in the Athens Final,” concluded Ancelotti, who appeared in midfield for the Giallorossi as a midfielder.

Bayern relieved to avoid Chelsea in Champions League

BERLIN (AFP) - Bayern Munich defender Willy Sagnol said Friday that his club are happier to face AC Milan than Chelsea in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

"The worst draw would have been to play against Chelsea," Sagnol said, adding: "AC Milan have had problems this season, like us, and they haven't managed to replace Andriy Shevchenko. I think our chances are 50-50."

Chelsea, who signed Shevchenko from AC Milan in a 30-million-pound deal last year, will face Spanish club Valencia in the quarter-finals.

Philipp Lahm, the Bayern left-back who was one of the revelations of the 2006 World Cup, said he was looking forward to facing Milan, who eliminated Bayern at the last 16 stage of the competition last season.

"It will be good to take our revenge," Lahm said. "They are a typical Italian team, strong defensively with good individuals. It's not going to be easy."

Bayern beat Real Madrid on the away goals rule to reach the last eight after a pulsating 2-1 victory at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday and club president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge promised another memorable night in Bavaria for the second leg of the tie on April 11.

"Everyone knows the result of last season against Milan (a 4-1 loss in the second leg of the last 16)," Rummenigge said. "That's was not a glorious moment for us. This time maybe we can do something good.

"At least we have the advantage of the first leg being away but it will be hard and perhaps it is the tactics of Italian teams which do not suit us and they play defensively and with pragmatism. They give their all until the final seconds and wait for an error from their opponents."

This draw is complicated .. We have to play at the Allenz in the 2nd leg, which means we have to finish off the game in the first leg.

I believe in Kaka ... For years I kept looking for Shevchenko to be the defining factor against anyone we meet up with in the CL .. But Kaka has proved that he can carry the weight of Milan on his shoulders.

We will pass Bayern .. Carlo has something cooking as we speak .. We will drive Bayern right out of this competition !


p.s. Pippo Inzaghi never gets enough of Kahn .. His game against Celtic shouldnt be judged, he was out for a month. But now with Pippo, Serginho and Nesta ... Just consider Milan through

We have been improving for quite a while now, the scoring issues are still troubling me though.

And, definately Pippi shouldn't be judged on the Celtic game since he was out for quite a while and was playing alone up there, we need to play Oli next to him againsy Bayern, even if he doesn't score he will attract some of the attention off of our target man. When either Gila and Pippo play alone they get marked out easily. Or we could play the same 4-3-1-2 formation with Seedorf in the whole and Kaka as a striker, but it might get problemetic since Kaka still would drift deep into midfield.

Serginho practically killed Bayern last season, if we play Seedorf in the whole with Kaka as a striker then I would put Sergio up in midfield in Seedorf's place, he will be even more effective there.

I put Paolo as LB because with Sergio in midfield he won't need to attack just stay back and defend.

Sergio hasn't played in soooo long, not sure if he'll be ready to start a CL's game, maybe if he demonstrates his ability in some Serie A games before then. Otherwise, Janku is fine. I wouldn't be surprised if Ancelotti put Ambrosini in, to try to stop Bayern's headers (Lucio ).

I would go with the 4-3-1-2 at the home game and 4-4-1-1 at the away game. We gotta watch out form lahm since hes f@cking fast and Mackaay. We can't allow them too many set pieces they take advantage of those greatly. And we have to clear they are very good at taking shots off of rebounds and set piece clearances.

Sorry to say this but its over, we barely beat Celtic, we lost to Inter and not going to have a spot on CL.

We lost to inter but their better than us so its expected. We still have 10 matches to play, so that is 30 points therefore we are far from out. We barely beat celtic because 6 people plus the goal keeper were sitting in front of the net. We had 28 shots, which proves we dominated the game. Bayern will be a long shot to beat, but we have lots and lots of time to prepare. Hopefully carlo will find out a formation that works towards our benefit, since he now dislikes using 4-3-1-2 for some reason. Forza milan.

IMO we better watch out for many more players. Podolski finally starts to settle in at Bayern, and Schweinsteiger is coming back to his WC form. Sagnol is a great defender and his crosses can be deadly. Makaay is also good of course, but Hargreaves is also a great player....

FC Bayern München midfielder Mark van Bommel will miss both legs of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final against AC Milan next month after being punished by UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body.

Dismissal
The Dutchman has been banned for one match as a result of his dismissal for a second yellow card in last week's first knockout round second-leg victory against Real Madrid CF. This ban will apply to the first leg in Milan on 3 April.

Inappropriate gestures
In addition, UEFA has decided to impose the suspended one-match ban (originally deferred for a year) handed to Van Bommel for making inappropriate gestures to supporters after scoring his side's second goal in the first leg in Madrid. Instead, Van Bommel will now serve a further one-match ban for the second leg against the Rossoneri in Munich on 11 April.

Disciplinary regulations
Under UEFA's disciplinary regulations (Article 15bis, para 3), if a further offence is committed during a probationary period, UEFA's disciplinary body may order the original sanction to be executed, in addition to disciplinary sanctions for the second offence.

Fair play
The other two disciplinary decisions imposed on Van Bommel from the match in Madrid will stand. The Control and Disciplinary Body ordered the 29-year-old to be at the disposal of UEFA to promote fair play during a youth competition this year. As well as this social and educational assignment, Van Bommel also received a fine of €6,200.
