Apparently he came out and denied the whole thing calling it low level journalism. So Balo is staying.

So you disagree with my post?

It might have been a pointed question or even misinterpreted.

Because this statement does nothing except keep Balotelli in the news. What Raiola needs is for a settled Balotelli so he can perform and he can make more money off him.

So Braida is gone.

Can't say I miss him all that much to be honest. sleep.gif The real doofus still runs amok, but this a bit of a collateral damage. And understandable collateral damage, but there you have it. Makes one wonder just how safe is some of the other positions are at this moment. Think Tassoti.

I'm not sure how much Braida can be blamed or how this will be a step in the right direction.

On the other hand, when I read this stuff, I'll have the urge to puke instantly:

Allegri: 'My last Milan Christmas'
By Football Italia staff

Massimiliano Allegri admits “it’s my last Christmas at Milan and the last four months were disastrous.”

The Coach hopes 2014 can bring improvements and starts out by welcoming youth into his side, as today 15-year-old support striker Hachim Mastour and 15-year-old midfielder Manuel Locatelli join stars like Mario Balotelli and Ricky Kaka in training.

“The last four months in Serie A were disastrous,” confessed Allegri to Sky Sport Italia.

“In 2014 we are focusing on a great Champions League campaign. I am confident, even though Sulley Muntari and Riccardo Montolivo will be suspended for the first leg against Atletico Madrid.

“Plus there is the Coppa Italia to play for and in the League third place is a long way off, but we’ll do everything possible.”

In another interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Allegri acknowleged this is his final term at San Siro.

“I could’ve been the Coach who earned Milan’s second star, their 20th Scudetto. A phantom goal played a decisive role in my second Rossoneri season. We were not very lucky.”

He was referring to the infamous Sulley Muntari goal that crossed the line without being spotted by officials in their draw with Juventus.

“I leave a good team that earned the love of the fans. A team that with a few adjustments will have a future.

“The real regret is that I never had all the players at my disposal. The first choice full-backs were practically never available at the same time. We didn’t make mistakes in the medical staff, as we consulted with some of the best specialists in the world and it makes me angry that our doctors are under attack.

“I have always worked with enthusiasm and will continue right to the end. Why am I leaving? I decided the day it was made official I’d remain for one more season. I liked the idea of staying and finishing the job, but four years in one club is a long time.”

Clarence Seedorf is heavily tipped to be Allegri’s successor, despite having no management experience.

“I don’t know who will be the next Milan Coach and it’s not my problem. I can be certain this is my last Christmas at Milan, but I got there despite many people doubting I’d manage that.

“Seedorf gave a great deal in his penultimate season at Milan. He’s a great player, but I’d have loved to work with him when he was 28 rather than 35.”

There are other new arrivals, as Keisuke Honda and Adil Rami have joined from CSKA Moscow and Valencia respectively.

“I think they were good buys. The club is working well, is building the team also for next season so that we won’t need too many adjustments.

“As for Balotelli, this year will be good for his future. He will improve a great deal, has enormous potential and will also be crucial for the World Cup.”

Allegri was asked about rumours he is the favourite to take over from Cesare Prandelli on the Italy bench after Brazil 2014.

“What do I say about the colour Azzurro? It brings the sun, which makes you happy when you wake up in the morning.... The Nazionale has a great Coach who has brought wonderful results and can have a great World Cup.

If the Italian FA appoint him as the new Azzurri coach I'll boycott their games for the 2 terrible years that he'll be in charge (if they let him stay on for that long)

Can you imagine someone like Allegri having free rein to pick and choose from whichever mediocre mid-table players he wishes

Danny
The fact Allegri's staying till the summer proves, in my mind at least, beyond all doubt, that he's only still here because Silvio refuses to pay him off.

Our start and current position are abysmal, and we critically need to recover this by May or we can not only kiss any Europe goodbye for sure but possibly struggle to stay in Serie A.

Consequently 1M Euros and it's byebye Allegri (any bonus pay off notwithstanding) and a new boss for the rest of the year (like Spurs had the balls and cash to do with AVB over to Sherwood) to resurrect us a little and make the rest of the season respectable.

Unfortunately, now I'd suggest our season will get even worse as not only do the players barely play for him as it is, but the fact he's leaving means they're playing for him even less. It unsettles players and unstabilises the club and it's disastrous that we've kept him on instead of just God-damn firing him with a bit of cash. But, I knew we wouldn't.

See this is what happened with Rangers' attempt at a world record 10 league titles in a row. Walter Smith announced that summer he'd leave after the final league - 10. We didn't win it because his announcement destabilised the club totally.

And here we have the same situation. Official confirmation Allegri's leaving and players who are not good enough while not even playing for him.

With only Rami and Honda confirmed this season could end up very, very dark and now I've got to the stage I'll be happy with us staying in Serie A.

Would prefer Inzaghi to take over as manager then Seedorf if i'm honest.
Jack Sparrow
Yes. Unless Inzaghi himself said he has no interest in taking over just yet. Anyone know how the equation was between Pippo and Clarence. As far as I knew, one of the best things about the Carlo era except for playing 3 #10s was the camraderie between the boys.
Fillipo Simone
Hmh, to think of it, I really don't recall and Pippo-Clarence matter at all.
Ry4n
What strikes me though is when Carlo left he took alot of the backroom staff with him but not his assistant Tassotti. Either way if Seedorf or Inzaghi become milans new manager at the end of the season they are going to need Tassotti there to help them at least the first season.

Heres a list of Carlo's staff at Madrid atm.

Monaco interested in Mexes:

http://www.sportmediaset.mediaset.it/merca...exes-160-.shtml

They're willing to match his wage.
Fillipo Simone
This is really a hard call for me. On one side Mexes isn't getting any younger, he has a bad temper and is injury prone as well (who isn't at Milan, really?). On the other side, I was looking forward to see the French NT defender duo starting here with us. Also, I honestly don't think we will or even can sign a defender of his caliber to replace him.
Danny
The problem with signing Rami is we now basically have 4 rather good defenders.

Mexes might not have been outstanding this season, but he's been debatably our best defender overall nevertheless. But he's got 'problems' these days whatever they are and is no longer in favour for either club nor country.

Zapata was horrendous but slowly improved till that colossal display V Roma then decent match V Inter.

Rami we don't know how he'll do at Milan. Hopefully as a current French international we see good things from him.

And lastly Bonera, the generally derided Bonera who's hit a purple patch of form and based on that cannot be dropped.

With Rami's signing 2 players will definitely not be happy, and will be convinced they should be starting. The easiest way to remove that problem is by selling one of them. And of all 3 I'd be least disturbed at seeing Mexes go, given his increasingly dire temperament and apparent mental issues.
X-Offender
We should sell Mexes only if we have a good replacement in mind. Like, David Luiz... innocent.gif
Fillipo Simone
I don't like Luiz, he'd profit much more from playing in Italy then we would by signing him now.

We'd be really stupid if we sold him.

Rami is still an unknown entity. Bonera is still Bonera, 2 great performances just DON'T change that fact. And Zapata is still Zapata, decent to good but not great. We have the opportunity to start with 2 rather good if not great CBs and that hasn't been the case for a while. Selling Mexes would mean that we're staying within the same waters. If not worse as Rami is new to Serie A and we have absolutely no idea how he'll adapt.

Had we had a smart management, they'd extend his contract and spread out his current salary over more years.

The problem is, we simply don't

Zapata and Bonera for me should not be considered as starters unless we're rotating or there's an injury now that we have Rami. and having said that, Rami is still pretty much an unknown entity for us.

Mexes is our only really good defender in the bunch. Bonera is still Bonera, no matter how you wish to spin it. He's unreliable, mistake prone and injury prone. Zapata this season has been a real nightmare and cost us some serious points through mistakes he personally made.

Selling Mexes would leave us in a worse situation than we started with this season

Mexes should be sold; quite easy decision in my opinion. The best defense is one without him anyway. Bonera, Rami and Zapata all got my preference over Mexes, who also earns the most. He is out of position way too many times, then he could as well just be out of the club.

It is surprising to see Mexes' fall from grace, but I think he messed up big time V Juve and it's been downhill from there.

Like you say, the 3 remaining defenders have my preference, and while it's a gamble to assume Rami will do well, it's also a gamble to start Mexes at all now - who knows what he'll do.

I don't think there's any point replacing him at all. Like I say, having 4 first-choice defenders is a problem. I'd rather have the main 2 starters and a third as backup. Having 2 just creates problems imo.

PS: I'd nevertheless bite your hand off for Luiz.

And in all honesty, we cannot bring in any more players without selling at least 2 or 3

Zaccardo, Muntari/Nocerino and Matri all need to go

All of them have big wages (Zaccardo's is decent but still hefty considering what players of his calibre are earning at other Serie A clubs)

But isn't selling 2 or 3 the stupid game he is playing?

Um no...

He's been harping on about reducing the squad size and saying no one will come in before we sell for years now

Yet every summer he bogs down the squad with even more rotation/squad players due to ridiculous co-own/loans with Genoa and other mid-table Serie A sides or free transfers from the French league, and every summer we can never get rid of these players because to top things off Galliani hands them huge wages which they are happy to sit on the bench at Milan for.

This summer we should have reduced the squad size already, we shouldn't even be talking about it now, yet what did Galliani do?

Brought in useless players like Silvestre, signed non-EU players like Vergara who are only there to waste the spot and nothing else, brought in filler players like Birsa, and wasted our entire budget on a dud like Matri. That was what Galliani did in the summer.
Rossoneri7
But that was the coach's requests, for those type of players. And Galliani working around a tight belt squeezed them out of the market. Yes Milan is cheap, did you expect a red carpet players? Kaka and Balotelli only play for Milan because of affection. 4MM a year is too low of a salary for players of their calibre. Who else of such quality would agree to drop his salary to the 4MM mark?

Radja Nainggolan is expected to formalise terms of agreement and undergo a medical to complete a move to Roma.

The Cagliari midfielder yesterday saw links over his future intensify, with Napoli and then the Giallorossi both thought to have entered bids.

It is understood that Roma have taken the advantage and the player will, during the coming week, complete formalities on a four-and-a-half-year contract paying €1.8m a year, plus undergo a medical in the capital.

The Lupi’s offer is believed set at a €3m initial fee to take the 25-year-old on loan until the end of the season, whilst a purchase option to take a 50 per cent share in him come the summer is agreed at €6.5m.

Indications that a decision has been reached from the player came in his return to Cagliari yesterday evening from Milan, where it was seen he had been given permission to stay to negotiate with interested parties.

Incredibly disappointing news. A quality midfielder we could have really used. The one consolation is Cristante is not a million miles away from NG's style and showed superb promise yesterday.

From that list, Allegri asked for Matri only, the others were down to deals with mid-table sides like Genoa who we always exchange a handful of players with for no reason other then trying to appear busy in the summer

Silvestre was the usual panic buy after an injury, which not only inflated our squad even more but our wage bill as well, not to mention the irony that he was injured for nearly the entire time that the player he was supposed to replace was injured for and even worse, Bonera recovered before him

It's just one comedy show after another with us

Err...that's Radja Naingollan for 9.5 million that would give 50% of his ownership. You realise this means he is being valued at 19 million? Ridiculous. I wouldn't want him here for that money.

Especially when you consider the way co-ownerships are resolved would end up with him costing even more. Well done to Cagliari for that deal.
