He was actually laughing when Levante scored, he was that happy, he couldn't hide his excitement. When Ronaldo scored and Levante got put down to 10 men who sounded like he was about to throw himself in front of a train.

Nice play from Higuain, sets up Ronaldo for the 2-1 lead.
Ronaldo hat-trick. Madrids 4,000th home league goal ever.
Kone, 3-2. Good effort from Levante with 10 men.
Benzema, 4-2. That should be it.

Well not really ... I wouldn't discount Barcelona from retaining the title just now.
That being said, Madrid have to keep this momentum going as Barcelona are THE team to beat, even with their recent set-back (ie w/o their midfield triad of Xavi-Iniesta-Cesc)

Feb 13 2012, 11:23 AM
Madrid will have to drop least 10 points for Barca to win the title providing they maintain a 100% winning record from now on. well, I can't see that happening. they look far from their invincible selves this season. even in the upcoming el classico all the pressure will be on them to win and that could only make it harder. Madrid have the psychological edge over Barca and with Mourinho (of all the people) at charge, it's nearly impossible for them to screw it up.

Feb 13 2012, 11:45 AM
I think Barca are so good that they could win every game for the remainder of the season. But we're 20-odd games in and Madrid have only dropped 8 points.. now they have to drop another 10 in 15 or so games? And that's if Barca don't drop any more points. I just don't see them catching up.
Rossoneri7
Feb 13 2012, 12:44 PM
Thats the obvious way to look at it and it does depend on Madrid to drop those 10 points doesnt it. Just dont discount Barca just yet is what I am saying, the talk about their downfall is premature I believe.

I don't see it, but I certainly won't be counting Barca out. In football anything can happen. What if Ronaldo gets injured? Madrid may start to panic and struggle a little for goals, who knows.
I'm interested to see how Barca do in the CL, given their 'struggles' in La Liga. I can't say I was overly impressed in their 2 games against us.

Yes it is. I've seen clubs winning throughout the whole season and then suddenly drop points unexpectedly inches before the finish. So, yes, I won't write them off.

It's ridiculous mate! Absolutely ridiculous. Just search Armstrong on the boards and you will see how much I've ridiculed the guy for years. He's so pro-Barca it's unbelievable. You remember that Boateng goal? He blamed Valdes for letting it in...
He literally praised the Barca players for waving imaginary fake cards saying the Madrid players 'deserved it'.
Ah, I can't repeat everything but it makes for entertaining reading if you run the search!

Exactly, if Ronaldo were to get injured that's a big, big problem for Madrid, even in this league.

From the neutrals who want a Madrid on top of the table. An honest answer please: Is it because you dont want Barca's supremacy to continue? Or Mourinho factor?
Both cases it definitely does make the league have at least some sort of competition

Still, a goal and two assists, you don't make them everyday.

I'd say Kaka is still at 50%. Sadly, there are high chances that he will not get much better, what with his age and fitness. Still.

Mourinho's next game will be his 100th in charge at Madrid. 76 wins, 13 draws, 10 losses so far. He's got the best winning percentage in the history of Madrid and yet didn't win the title.. shows how stupidly good Barca have been.

It's just too easy for Mou and Real in the league. The only way for them to lose it was if the rest of the fixtures were direct head-to-heads with Barca (because we all know how those go

I meant that they'll only be able to lose this title if all the upcoming games were against Barca.
But you're right, you don't win the title by just winning against direct competition, it's won against the smaller teams. Whoever get the most points in those matches usually wins the league

At least if Barca have a slight hope for the league they won't rest their squad before the play us...
