Think you're horribly over rating him. He is/was very talented but miles off genius.

I never adored Baggio that much to be honest. Yes, he was a genius, but consistency wasn't his thing. He also never managed to take the team in his hand a lead the way through, something Del Piero, Totti or even Albertini knew how to do in and out.

Del Piero and Totti both never really performed for the national team.

There are different levels of genius. A player can be a genius but waste it away like Cassano has throughout his career.

So which player did perform for Italy on a constant basis and was a genius? I think you won't find many.

Totti had his ups and downs, but in terms of consistency him and especially Del Piero easily top Baggio. Especially in big tournaments.

Cassano when he was younger and on his game was simply amazing. Forget his time with us or Real or Inter. He'd already gone off the deep end by then.

Just look at some of the games he had at Roma. He was a genius imo. But he could never truly realise his true potential simply because his mental issues held him back.

Look at Balotelli, so much talent yet so little brain cells.
