Man poor guy. id give him this season coming to see what he can do. If he screws that then pheh let him go. but id like to see what he does for this next season
Cassano was the captain of Italy for the game against Spain.

I said they’d made a mistake, but it turns out they’d talked it over beforehand to give me this amazing gift. Aside from being a great captain and a player, Gigi is a great man. We're next to each other on intl duty always, so he's a saint!"

That was a great gesture to let him the honor of being a captain at Bari, infront of fans that adore him (grew up there).

Today imo was one of his best performances for Milan since the Parma game last season. Worked his @ss off, which is great to see. 2 questionable calls went against him, he deserved a goal for all his work. Plus he seems to have good understanding with EL Shaarawy as well.

Naah, I can't understand the people who saw him as a surplus at season start. He's been very good for us and I hope he can hold onto that form for a long time.
Well, I was one of those who wanted him out. But I guess I never thought we'd have so many injuries.
It was pretty obvious to me. Pato injured has become normal - Pippo as well. So that leaves us to the three other strikers.
Btw. how are Paloschi and Strasser doing so far?

Paloschi doing very well in chievo despite not being a definitive starter.

I don't know... Cassano played poorly against "Barca" and "Napoli" (his assist aside). it's good to play well against the Cesenas of this world, but his performances in bigger games are lacking so far.
Disclaimer: this doesn't mean I'm a Cassano hater or want him out or anything. he's a talented footballer for sure, just needs to work on his fitness.

Just curious, why did you put Barcelona and Napoli in quotation marks?
Yes, against Barcelona he didn't play well, but fitness played a little role in that game: it was more that he tactically wasn't of any use to us in such a match and formation.

How much of that talent does he utilise in all honesty though? Cassano is his own worst anemy, he could have turned out to be one of the best players for Italy since Baggio imo but he threw it away due to stupidity
Not stupidity. He just doesn't care about being the best. He seems happy to just enjoy the life of a millionnaire without really pushing himself.

Cassano is not the sharpest tool in the box. He ruined his career due to stupidity imo. If he was happy to earn good money and do the bare minimum then he wouldn't have ruined that with his actions over and over again at different clubs
But one must admit that he was quite normal both with Sampdoria and with us as well. His feud with Samp cannot be blamed on him IMO.

I agree, which is why I compared Balo to him in the other thread. Cassano wasted a lot of time maturing (in the mental sense). It's only now that he's seemed to have calmed down and settled
Cassano felt unwell yesterday night at Malpensa airport. He's undergoing tests at the Policlinico in Milan.

agreed. i remember a number of mysterious injuries in the past few years. we possibly have a rogue inter medic.

And this was starting as his best season in years. Big loss if he won't return in the near future. As Milan, Cassano also can't catch a break.
