I think Nocerino does. His interviews are always so passionate. And Ambro, obviously. Don't know about the rest.

Sure, Ambro I even don't count in. Yes, Nocerino, but his heart isn't red-black. Think he'd ditch us for Napoli.
X-Offender
Nah, if he keeps his position as regular starter, he wouldn't go there even if the opportunity presents itself.
TriniKing_CE
I think SES is quite passionate about Milan as well. Time will tell whether or not he can be a one club man, but for now I think he only wants Milan.

Strikers...people like them, but well...Sheva was passionate as well, but ended up like a traitor. Never ever felt something special for any striker afterwards. Except Inzaghi, but he's out of this world.

Thiago Silva: I miss Milan

Paris Saint-Germain’s Thiago Silva has admitted that he’d love to get the opportunity to play for Milan again in the future.

“I can’t deny that I miss Milan,” the stopper, who left the Diavolo for PSG in the summer at a cost of over €40m, told Sky Sport Italia.

“They will always remain in my heart because they gave me the chance to go around the world after I left Fluminense.

“I’d like a return to Milan in the future, they are a great club, one of the most successful in the world.

“I played there for three years and I can’t exclude anything because the future is unknown. If the opportunity presented itself then I would happily go back.”

The Brazilian international was actually hoping for a February ‘return’ once the Champions League resumed.

PSG could have been paired with Milan in yesterday’s draw, but the French giants have been handed Valencia instead.

“I wanted to face Milan in the Champions League,” the centre-back added. “I wanted to play them just so I could return to the club that is still so important to me.

“When I played my last game there, I did not know it at the time and I did not say goodbye to everyone that I wanted to.”

Some players aren't complete mecenaries. I think he'd rather play in Milan in a lot of money than Paris on a stupid amount.

Me too. If you ask me almost all of our defensive problems this year are down to selling him off. Just imagine that we had Silva paired with Mexes against Roma instead of Yepes. No way we give up 4 goals.
KillerMax
IMO we treated this guy worse than Pirlo. He really wanted to stay and we kept him uncertain, up and down before we demonstrated the intention to keep him, RENEWED his contract and then sold him. I remember how confused he himself was. But he accepted it like a champ in the end.

Here's an interview published today:
QUOTE
Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva has insisted that 'Milan are always in my heart'.

The Brazilian centre-back left the Rossoneri last summer to join the Ligue 1 club.

But the 28-year-old has admitted that he could be persuaded to one day come back to the San Siro.

“I am very happy in Paris,” he told Simona Ventura TV. “Although I am sorry for the Milan fans.

“They will always be in my heart.

“I miss all good things in life, among them is Fluminense and Milan.

“I still remember the first time I went to San Siro – I was in the stands to watch Milan – Fiorentina.

“I was impressed from that moment on.”

The least I can say is that it's appreciated.

Dude...the expression ad nauseam is really relevant here. I don't know why you're on this 'wages BS' kick. If you're going to sit on your high horse and go on about how foolish our management were 6 to 7 years ago, then that's fine. But it ends there. Nothing's going to change that is it. What R7 and I and Filippo and even that fraud Birminghamer is interested in is the way forward. The Milan way of managing was over the day people with deeper pockets came into the game. We could no longer play for scraps at the same table. Hence we've changed our management style and it takes time and some deep sacrifices. A bit like going from corporation to start-up mode. No more company cars and free/unlimited coffee.

So stop being all depressed and complaining. You have great points in your posts at times, but 80% of your total posts are on how 'retarded' Galliani and Berlusca are.

Now, I've mentioned this before I'll spit it out again. I'll keep it short.

- Silva: Sold for the transfer fee. NOT for his wages. Unless you had a better plan to plug in a close to 60 MM operating deficit.
- Ibra: Let go primarily for his wages.

The combined deal would make it look like Ibra went for a really low transfer fee. But that's just normal football transfers. Ibra went for a low fee, the same way Eto'o went for 'only' 11 million to Inter. They were on their last year of contract and their current club could not afford to renew. In such cases, the player's transfer fee by rule of thumb is equal to his year's wages.

Hence ~ 12 million was paid for Ibra, PLUS the 12 million we saved from his contract wages.

I'm sorry we had to sell Silva. Defenders are harder to get, and in the long run Silva would have helped rebuild a spine.

I think Ibra not being there will be tided over in the long run, but has hit us hard in the short term- this season. We would not have had such a bad start to the season, or be struggling to keep third.

But from a longer view- At the price of a less impactful Boateng, and a virtually useless Noce - we have gained SeS and Balotelli and possibly some space for Niang to play as well. And there's still room in the wages.

I know at this point it is useless whining but what I really wanted was for the management not to be so careless as to get to the point where we needed 60m to plug a gaping hole in our finances. Alternatively, I would have rather sold Pato for 35m and Boateng for 20-25m to keep Silva. Ibra leaving was somewhat inevitable with his age, contact length, and wages.

Still a laughably awful transfer on our part.

IMO you can not claim to "save" money on wages. If anything, that just shows you're a bad businessman in the first place. Why commit to money you can't afford? If we could afford it, why sell him?

We made 12m + "saved" which is 24m. We should have got around 24m for him anyway! Selling him for so little was ridiculous. As for Eto'o, he wasn't wanted by Barca anymore, very different from Ibra who was still the focal point of our team.

Ostensibly you can. You have to think of 'wages' as a different budget. I tend to think of it in terms of Life vs Mana in RPG games. So you have your transfer budget...but you also have your wage budget. Both are crucial. And cuts in both help.

Ibra saving 12 million..has opened us up to at least 3 potential high value acquisitions. One of whom was filled in by Balo at his 4MM wage.

I understand Eto'o was not wanted. But the principle is the same. While we'd have loved to keep Ibra...he was not going to back down on his wage demands. Which basically made him 'unusable' as well.

Plus in a twisted sort of way, his leaving meant other players could shine a bit more. At the same time his coming was necessary. Without Ibra we would have won nothing. We needed some sort of a statement, because we risked becoming a by the wayside club and we had to compete. Without the scudetto wins and the performance on the field, a lot of the commercial deals couldn't have been pushed through by Galliani.

Silva's was painful though. But we couldn't have gotten that sort of money anywhere else.

First of all, if you'd been more observant you would have realized that I have nothing against the way the club is going. If anything, I welcome it. But you must understand that we did this to ourselves.

Secondly, I do not complain about Galliani and Berlusca all the time. I could say I complain about Allegri, Muntari, or Niang 80% of the time, but I only speak about our management when the situation requires it.

Thirdly, Eto'o was sold for €30 million, not €11 million, everyone knows that. That's why people kept saying that Ibra cost more to Barça than Kaká to Madrid.

Finally, you're right, Silva was not sold sold for his wage. But what really made that scenario unbearable from a fan's point of view was the whole stay-go-stay-go BS. At first Galliani was 99.99% certain that Silva would stay, then PSG make an offer and he's as good as sold. Then Silvio "steps in" and cancels the deal: Silva is staying and we even raise his wages, only to sell him a few days later. How is that not infuriating? And this is where R7 comes in. He believes in the crap that we sold Silva because we raised his wage to match that offered by PSG and then we couldn't afford it anymore. Then why the hell raise it in the first place? I think we all can affirm that Silva would have stayed with us without a raise, despite what his tw@t agent was saying at the time. Everything regarding Silva's sale was a plan orchestrated by Galliani in order to make Berlusca look good and justify Silva's sale in the end, but it was poorly elaborated and everyone saw right through it.
Rossoneri7
Correction X-Off, I believe we raised TS's wages to match PSG's wage offer, and thus the player was staying. Then PSG proposed a counter offer of 60MM+ and Galliani flew him in his private jet off to Paris. If you pay more attention you would learn a thing or two innocent.gif

I never said that, but your condescending replies to try to excuse the constant terrible decisions of the management have become grating to a level where I usually don't bother to reply anymore.

All those people I mentioned above to you have repeated themselves over and over again when it comes to the mess Galliani made with the transfers of Silva and Zlatan. Everyone knows that it was an idiotic deal. And for you to keep saying that we HAD to increase Silva's wage because PSG simply made a transfer offer for him and consequent to this we had to sell him after increasing his wages - of the management's own free will might I add - is just ridiculously condescending of you.

No one is stupid here, everyone can see what a terribly awful deal Galliani came out with. Everyone knows how the story unfolded during the summer. The sheer idiocy of it all would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

And no, I'm not even talking about the merits of keeping them or not. If we had to sell them like we did with Kaka and Sheva then so be it. The club is bigger than the players, always has been always will be. But the fact of the matter is that we basically gave them to PSG for nothing when they're out spending ridiculous sums on much lesser players. We actually managed to LOWER the price we were going to sell them for. Now what great business man wouldn't be proud of that achievement? rolleyes.gif

If Silva was worth €45 million, then Ibra was worth at least €30 million. Selling them both for only €65 million was plain I-D-I-O-T-I-C.

Look han, you don't need to sell your assumptions to me, I know what Milan's financial state is like and keeping those two into the first monitoring period of FFP would have us not collect UEFA income first and potentially being disqualified. 60MM, 70MM, or 80MM transfer fee? PLUS wages crazy numbers, Milan cant afford the wages .. Previously Silvio would cover our losses, now he can only cover 45MM - getting them off our wage budget has reduced our losses to sub 7MM (from some 70MM).

It was a HUGE blow for us, and Galliani has taken the heat. Now that the dust has settled, think a little. Sometimes you need to make decisions that is highly unpopular with the fans. I understand the frustration in that you cant make sense of it all and justify it by claiming Galliani is an idiot.

In years down the line from today, Milan wont be a wealthy club when peered with Arsenal, Bayern, United, Barcelona, Madrid ... These are teams that have high-to-sold out attendances in their 'own' stadium, they have HUGE sponsorship deals, they have lucrative domestic/int'l tv rights packages, they have merchandising, and they have the # of fans to back it.

We don't even own a stadium, and our attendances are 50% or below, our tv rights is a collective one 'not as lucrative', we cant attract the biggest of names anymore so merchandising will suffer, taxes? And the snowball is so big, I am amazed how the boat has not sunk, let alone compete for 3rd.

Going into FFP, it will need shrewdness and a longterm vision. Again many of that wont necessarily be digested lightly by fans. So if it helps, go ahead and take your shots I was merely adding something factual that justifies the actions. Why he didn't claim a better deal than 60MM? 60MM is not something to be sniffed at. But again, if you respectfully believe we could have gotten better, then thats fine, it is your opinion.

I think you misunderstood.

My last paragraph in particular speaks of what you're saying. It's just like with Cassano, our hands were twisted behind our backs and we had to sell these 3 players for variously different reasons. But the stupid deal that were struck is what's the problem here.

I understand we were losing bucket loads of money and something had to give at the end of the day. But don't try to make an excuse out of Thiago's wage when he would have been more then happy to stay while earning what he was previous to the "sarcastic" contract extension we gave him for no reason a week before shipping him off. And this is pretty clear as the player himself still speaks of Milan with utter reverence almost. That's how much he loved behing here after basically being betrayed by Galliani. Zlatan as well who has had nothing but great things to say about Milan but has admitted to not talking to Galliani because he's still p!ssed at him.

My point is that even if we had come to a point where we absolutely HAD to sell them, we went about it in completely the wrong way. We basically got ripped off by a team who spent only slightly less for players like Pastore for example. And this has not just happened this once but has been a constant running theme of how Galliani has done business in recent years

What was Pastore's wage before PSG came knocking? Does it even come close to TS's 10MM a year? Keeping in mind Pastore was 22 when sold while Silva was 28.

Agreed.

Kinda weird to read him saying that if he was Kaká he would return sooner, or unless he comes back to Milan in a shorter period of time than Kaká did, or else his words are kinda hypocritic. Please come back soon, Thiago Silva. If there was one player that could help Milan the most right now, it's you. Him, a player, and a new coach obviously.

Well I wouldn't say it's hypocritical as their situations are different. Kaka was basically brushed to the side at Real and used as a bench player, Thiago's situation at PSG is completely different though

In a year or two he might come back and take the armband. Would be more then deserved.

He wore those yesterday vs Cameroon:

I really hope he will return some day. He became a real Milanista when he played for us and always talks very positively about his time here.

This guy. He was one player who could really have been part of Milan's history. I'd still take him back.

Selling both him and Zlatan was a huge mistake. sad.gif

NEWS BREAK:
QUOTE
It has been quoted by Corriere Dello Shite that Milan could be making a shocking move to bring PSG player Thiago Silva back to the club he left two years ago. The player has made no secret of his love and affection for his former club.

A.C Milan owner, Silvio Berlusconi has apparently decided to break the bank after a long while and give a gift to the fans as was his vaunt in the older days. However to play within the rules of FFP, Milan shall instead offer Balotelli plus a sum of 10 million to PSG. PSG are interested since this offers them a ready replacement for Cavani who is said to be moving on this year. A.C Milan will fix their ailing defence while getting rid of the inconsistent and temperamental Balotelli, with the player exchange deal reducing their obligation to Manchester City to pay a 20% subsequent transfer fee.

The deal is thought to be in a highly advanced stage of talks, and a screen capture from the World Cup of Thiago Silva's shin guards carrying the famous Milan crest along with the Brazilian flag seems to confirm that the signing is merely a formality.

It remains to be seen if this signing shall be the one of many as Milan re-plan an assault back to the pinnacle of Europe as they a few years ago.
