Both defences were quite shaky but Napoli's trio always looked more likely to capitalize on defensive mishaps rather than Chelsea's.

For a moment after Mata's goal I thought Napoli were going to collapse, they were making mistakes all over.
Great comeback though. But with the away goal, they need at least another goal while keeping Chelsea out

Keep repeating myself but these 2 by far are worse than United, City. Good to see the Italian League doing well though, especially against English opposition, not been the case for a few years.

Though Napoli also handled well with City in the group stage while United exit id just hard to explain cuz they were in an easy group.
That Cole clearance from the line is pretty big. 4-1 would have been very tough to comeback from.

Yeah, they had a very very tough group.
I just wanted that ball to be smashed into the net, finish could have been better

But,good clearance too

Napoli's style of play is to play on the counter. It works effectively against big sides because big sides tend to control possession, push further up field and leave spaces for the likes of Hamsik, Cavani and Lavezzi to exploit. But it doesn't work against smaller sides in Serie A.

Fantastic performance from Napoli. Could have been a much more painful defeat for Chelsea. Their defense was a total mess.

Great result
Still the defending was completely cr@p on both sides of the pitch, and while Napoli took their chances, Celsea did not.
I fear that this tie is far from over. That clearance off the line from Cole could be crucial.
Now it's up to Inter to make it a clean sweep. If Italy could somehow get 3 teams in the quarter it would be great for Serie A. But once again, the Europa League teams will most likely ruin all of the good work done in the CL

Naah, that won't bring to anything. Message? The message they sent is - Napoli playing CL = loosing their respectable league position. Next season most probably Udine or Lazio will play for Italy in the CL - sounds like nothing but early elimination to me?

Cahill is poor, but he's playing out of his element at Chelsea I think. JT will be awful under AVB too, slower defenders won't really work for him, he plays too high a line. But Luiz is a defender who likes to play the ball and he has pace, this system is perfect for him and he still fails. I've never seen a defender with such poor positional sense before. He makes Kaladze look like Maldini.

He should be moved in the DM slot for them. He's only partly decent defensively but great on the ball, better than Ramires FFS who does nothing but run himself into the ground.
Lampard is better than all their mids put together imo and he leaves him on the bench.
And don't get me started on the utter misuse of a top class player like Mata
Cahill is a poor man's John Terry (when he was actually good that is)
@ Filippo, 3 Serie A clubs will definately be something great imo. I don't really care if they're Inter. They're getting humiliated enough in the league to keep me more than happy.
As for Napoli, I think they'll get the final CL slot in the end. Udine and Lazio will inevitably drop down, especially Udine without Isla and Toto

But their options are limited. Who'd want to come as a third option right now? I can only see another temporary solution like Bergomi or Baresi.
Hopefully, they haven't got Capello in mind.
