If they end up with a draw, they still can finish 2nd after Bayern.
In case of a draw, they will be dependent on Bayern's good mood in the last round in Manchester, a game that won't decide a thing for the Germans.

For my money, Bayern is only decent CBs away from being the world's third most talented squad.
Agreed.

They are the best of Germany, and it's plain evident for all to see.

Well, if Bayern has the UEFA coefficient in mind they probably will take advantage and go for the 3 points.

City have been imperious in the league but inconsistent in Europe.
But if they could take their domestic form into Europe they look like a serious challenger to Barca.
They remind me a bit of Jose's Inter - a superb defence and core of the team, plus masses of creativity.
I'm not saying they're a better team, but like Jose's Inter they might be one of the few who could stop Barca.

I was hoping you guys could give me a mind about the Napoli-City game. Which result do you think it's more probable? Every sane person would go for a '2' considering City's amazing form in the league, but in Europe they've been anything but spectacular. An 'X' maybe? If Napoli lose this, they'll be officially out, so they'll be fighting with all their power for a positive result, considering they also have the support of their fans. I find it difficult for them to win though. What do you reckon?
Fillipo Simone
Nov 20 2011, 07:31 PM
Hmh, with their mentality,...I don't think it will end up as a tie, but rather with an Ibsenian heroic ending - everything or nothing. I think they'll win actually.

You cant knock Madrid to be honest. There's a different between spending your owners money and spending your own money. Madrid made a profit in the last tax year I believe, so they are actually one of the few clubs in World football who spend within their means.
With that said though, I suppose they make so much because of a brand they've created from the 50s where they just bought the top players and likely didn't make moneyl.

Would be great to get rid of some English teams before knock out for a change.
But yeah,...how exciting is football (CL) actually these years? I think Kurt has a point in saying the CL is boring. There were times one could name at least 6 or 7 teams not just worthy of winning the prize, but who'd actually deserve this. This Barcelona vs. Real domination with United incursions is getting dull.

Wow, so much hate in Scotland for Real Madrid.

I like Real Madrid. The honest question is why are City 'money' while other clubs aren't? What I mean is, clubs like Real Madrid, Man Utd, Inter etc have spent millions over the years on players - yet they don't get the same grief that City do simply because their purchases have been over a shorter period.
What's the most City have spent on one player? Aguero - £38M. A lot of money, but nowhere near the records of Barca and Real and only marginally higher than Utd.
I find the criticism of City invalid.

I criticise Barca for it too! Thing is United spent what they made to be honest, people go on about their debts but don't realise that they were put into the club by the American's takeover. Until the Russian team came along I'd never heard of the wages City were offering to almost mediocre players (obviously not all their signings).
I criticised Chelsea for it too, so it's not a new thing where I've suddenly just taken a dislike to City doing it and turn a blind eye to everyone else. It was frustrating when United used to do it, but that was because they were successful winning leagues, cups etc, let alone their fan-base which is still almost unrivaled when you take into account Asia etc.
