Is Whittaker the defender that keeps complaining about him not playing enough and wanting to leave or is that someone else?
That would be Kirk 'Maicon' Broadfoot.
A dismal right back to say the least. And a complete idiot. Made the papers a few years ago for microwaving a raw egg. It exploded.

Udinese looking the better side, by far more attacking than Arsenal. Unlucky to be 1-0 down.

Yes, they need to be more decisive in front of goal. Arsenal's defense is mediocre at best and an away goal is a must.

Had money on Arsenal to win -1 as I didn't really think Udinese would be all that good this season. Were very unlucky to lose.

Aug 16 2011, 09:54 PM
A draw would have been a fair result. Even after losing Sanchez, Inler and Zapate, Udinese is still a good team, but they need to buy another forward to play along Di Natale.

Udinese's misses in this leg will cost them big time imo. 3 clear cut 1-on-1 chances. You simply cannot waste thoe types of chances at this stage
That being said, they were by far the better side and played some great football. Their lightning quick breaks are amazing to watch.

were Udinese playing in the Europa League they would have lost 3-0 to some much worse team. they played very well tonight, I just wish Italian teams stopped thinking they're bigger than the Europa League and started picking up points for Italy.
Arsenal have the advantage but it will be hard at Friuli possibly. Their season could fall apart in the next 10 days, they host Liverpool this weekend, then they go to Italy next Wednesday and then to Old Trafford next weekend. That's tough.

Yep, going to be great to watch on my part though!!

Arsenal are the only English club that I tend to symphatize with (tonight I was totally behind Udine though), but their comical downfalls are just way too entertaining to watch. Last season was epic. From being a few points away from overtaking United, to barely scraping through 4th!
Agreed, on Italian teams in the Europa, and it's harsh but true, it is their faults that Italy now finds itself in this situation. The CL team have a far better record in the CL in the last few years then the Germans, yet they managed to overtake us thanks to their teams doing well in the UEFA Cup and the Italian team sending out their B teams for it.
However I think this will stop, the UEFA Cup level teams who once had the odd shot at the CL when Juve/Milan/Inter/Roma had the odd bad season is gone since the 4th spot is taken away. I think they'll put in more effort, at least that is what I'm hoping for this season. I mean if Udine were to get eliminated and sent to the Europa league, they could easily go to the latter stages, the problem is whether they care about it or not, and that is just ridiculous, such performances have put further strain on an already struggling league

The only fair thing is to replace Fenerbahce with another Turkish team. If one of Liverpool and Arsenal gets it, it's a disgrace.

And I didn't get you...
Anywho, FC Kopenhagen may get it, because they are highest ranked from the ones who got elimated who are national champs. This I would prefer over giving it to Arsenal or Liverpool. I still prefer giving it to a Turkish side. In my opinion spots and qualifying spots are giving to countries, so when one team of a country are not allowed, they can replace it within the country with another one. And if you already lost a quali, it's not really fair to get in anyway (unless maybe it's a Turkish side because a Turkish side is not allowed).
And if one wonders why Fenerbahce are not allowed. I read because of match fixing.

Never mind, I got it. So, Arsenal could go through even if they lose, because Fenerbahce was prohibited from taking part in the competition (match fixing), due to them having the highest coefficient.
I agree that another team from Turkey should get the spot instead. Makes more sense than anything else.

I personally think any of the decisions (Copenhagen, Arsenal, Turkish team) would be correct and wouldn't argue with any of them.
Liverpool would be a bad decision because they aren't a champions. They didn't even qualify for the CL in the first place and aren't from a nation that's losing a place (England would have 5 which is not right).

Agreed, Udinese had some great chances in the first leg, as well as hitting the post in that game as well.
Arsenal missed 2 good chances but other then that, the game has been balanced and they have in no way played better then Udine
Also, apparently UEFA ruled that the Turkish runners up will get the spot lost by Fenerbache. For once UEFA make a fair ruling
