Yes since the Club is not ready to lick their wounds and bring Kala back into the fold. If Favalli or Thiago get injred during a match we're screwed big time

Have you ever watched an U.S. International match? Yes he is. He is a massive physical presence that I think will compliment Silva well. Is he the answer to our prayers? No not really, but he's better than Kaladze give me a break.

Mar 14 2010, 05:18 PM
Actually, yes. My person and I go to the NT games that're played at RFK and was present at the game where he blew his knee out - the weather was sucktastic, it rained the whole time and the Costa Ricans were nasty through the whole match. Half their technical staff had to be sent to the stands late in the game. And as much as we love to bash Kaladze on this board, he is still IMO a better CB than Onyewu.
Zed.D
Mar 14 2010, 05:46 PM
The Onyewu I saw in the Confederations Cup looked like a decent CB... the kind of player I'd play ahead of THIS Kaladze...
Fishdoll
Mar 14 2010, 05:51 PM
Thing is, this Onyewu's been out since October with a blown out knee. Kaladze has also been injured. If I had any options, I wouldn't field either one of them right now until they're for sure over their injuries. If I had to pick between the two, I'd pick Kaladze who, despite his error prone self, at least is familiar playing with Milan.

A.C. MILAN COMUNICATO UFFICIALE
15/03/2010
[Nesta had his surgery at Villa Stuart clinic in Rome. The arthroscopic surgery showed a torn external meniscus which was repaired and a damaged tendon which was also repaired. Alessandro Nesta will be released in the next days and must keep the knee immobilized for two weeks in a cast. At the end of this period he'll start rehab and should start athletic training in 30 days (ie full training).]

Yes but we're speaking of famous Milans Medical Team, remember when Kaka was injured ?
They say , the xx player will be fit for next game, and when Leo call the players you see that yy player is insted xx player.
So for me even a 45 days out of the field is success.

Mar 16 2010, 02:14 PM
I reread the stuff in the Italian media this morning and the sense I got of things was that the 30 day period mentioned was more the time he'd be out until he started playing. Even so, I think that's optimistic.
Still, if we could get him back before May 1, that would be great because our last 3 games are against Fiorentina, Genoa, and Juve.

NESTA: "Devo rimboccarmi le maniche"
17/03/2010
[Nesta: I need to roll up my sleeves
Milano - Alessandro Nesta has left Villa Stuart (in rome) and will fly back to Milan at midday. As he left the hospital, he was interviewed by Sky Sport 24 and said: "Before the operation I thought it'd be difficult to return before the end of the season. Instead, during the operation it was seen that there was still a piece of tendon attached. Therefore the absence should be shorter. As always, now I need to roll up my sleeves and return."]

Tuttomercatoweb has an interesting statistic about Nesta:
WITH Nesta, Milan has played 29 games with 16 wins, 8 draws, and 5 losses, with an average of 1.93 points a game, scoring 49 goals and conceding 30.
WITHOUT Nesta, Milan has played 17 games with 6 wins, 5 draws, and 6 losses, with an average of 1.35 points a game, scoring 20 goals and conceding 24.

Nesta had successful surgery this morning to stabalise a fracture in his right hand (caused by Amelia running into him during the Juve game!). He'll still be able to participate in light training exercises, and will definitely be ready for the first game of the season (according to the official site).

Nesta is essential to Milan. Pato is very important, too. I wonder what will happen if they stay healthy all season long.
He's out about a week, Amelia to blame!
