no but it's not a matter of being positive or not, it's the truth! the only ones that should be concerned about being positive are the players.
*

of course it's about being positive. we as fans are part of the club and the club has to think and act positive, therefore i'm positive about an away point, sure the performance wasn't so good but we battled and fought and got some reward so onto tuesday with a positive frame of mind and a 1st choice 11 wink.gif

1-1 vs. Siena. PATHETIC.

This team and management are a joke. It's all their fault and what I said against Viola is correct: Inter is going to win the league without a problem, just like last year. Moratti and co are laughing right now looking how mediocre we are.

We simply don't have depth. We've 13 or 14 good players. The others are shite.

With luck we might win the CWC in December. Nothing more.

Tomorrow we'll be behind Juventus, Roma and Inter. GOOD.

F@ck this! Whoever is satisfied with this result should go kill themselves. Horrible game.

Dida was horrendous. mad.gif
Cafu was just $hit. He is WAY past his best. He didn't do anything all game.
Nesta only deserves respect.
Kaladze should play in the Georgian league. Not for Milan. He is anything but dependable.
Favalli is good but too old.
Brocchi doesn't know what position he plays nor does he have any responsibility on the pitch.
Emerson is a solid player who will be of use later on.
Gourcuff was the only one who gave a damn other than Nesta and the bench players. Good movements all over the pitch. Wasted by the likes of Brocchi and Gilardino.
Seedorf only showed up at the end. He was playing without passion all game.
Gila is F@CKING PIECE OF $hit. That's all I have to say. Absolute ZERO of a player. Worst Milan striker since the Jose Mari\ Javi Moreno days... rolleyes.gif

I'm so angry. I WILL NEVER ACCEPT a result like this. Purely unacceptable. mad.gif

NO DEPTH, NO DEPTH, NO DEPTH. no ricky, no andrea and
we we perform like Queens Park Rangers. The league is
totally out of the question. That's so sad , because it really
should be our focas. The CL is grand but if you can't win
your own league (how many years has it been ) you really
aren't champions of anything. CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE ...
.... can't even beat siena FOOKEN SAD!!

Carlo did right rotating the squad. We weren't playing against Fiorentina or Roma. It was only the weak Siena and the players who got the opportunity should blame themselves. You are getting a chance in the first team and you need to give 120%. Instead, they were playing like sh!t and without any inspiration at all. So next time Carlo wouldn't play them against teams of Siena's level they'd now why. Again We had strong enough team to beat Siena and the key players rest was necessary.

The only ones who played decent were Gourcuff (at least he really tried) and Nesta(and not because of the goal). Gila again after missing two chances at the start was useless. But the whole team were awful today. But ,as much as it frustrating to rescue a draw against Siena, let's not draw any conclusions about the title race just yet.

just think people who expect to win every game just because we are A.C.Milan need a reality check...every team we play against are professional clubs with professional players giving a 100% for there cause, like siena today no points bottom of the table.

I wanna see some ratings...

Guys, some of you are right, this makes really flashbacks from last season. But maybe we should have put up a better first 11. I don't know, but a 1-1 sure does not make me confident. We have now 5 point out of 3 matches which is, yes porty, pathetic. But that does not mean we have 13 good players and the rest is sh@t, and this does not mean we've lost the scudetto.

I'm also irritated by Kojak/Fester and our management (and now I am really convinced that Silvio sees the problem, and will act in January), but some of you guys deserve a slap right now angry.gif . If you feel bad cause we lost unneccessary points thats okay. But shut up with that fatalistic attitude! Just shut up! It's the beginnig of the season and we alleady predict the finish. Yes, yes, we've lost, oh wait, we've played 1-1 with Siena,...mmmm,...that really means we've gonna lost everything. Or not? Bahhhhh,...this match means nothing. It only means we have to take our "easy-point" matches more serious, win the big matches with our first 11. We've played an 11 that never before played together and I hope never ever will. That's what I can read off that 1-1 result. But the world still exists!!

Agreed with you one everything except for the part in bold. To win a title I believe that you have to start strongly and we just aren't cutting it, the lack of motivation some of the guys that played for us today showed was appauling.

Ok so Kaka and Pirlo did not play, so what, we had a good enough team playing out there to beat the terrible Siena. Why is it that we only show any ammount of determination in the last 10 minutes? By then the game is already gone, especially when you need to score not 1 but 2 goals.

I think Carlo has shown where his priorities lie already this season and that is definately not the league imo.

4 points might not seem too much right now because we are still in week 3 but if Inter have a season like they did last season then those 4 points that we lost this early will make us lose grtound to early to catch up later on.

Imo, it's not about the coach, or the tactics or what class players we put out there today, but the motivation the 11 we have out there show, and for me apart from a couple none of them showed any of that except for the last 10 minutes when it was already too little too late to do anything about the result

Say it louder, they can't hear you. rolleyes.gif

I don't know where you are getting all these "positives" from, but we had the same exact problem last season and we didn't do a thing about it in the summer. The club need to know that fans are angry and frustrated. There is nothing positive about how we were managed these last couple of years. If we don't have our first 11, we are screwed because clearly our bench players don't even feel like trying.

I think last season when we won the CL, some people were secretly bemoaning the fact that we won it in the backs of their heads, behind all the uphoria of just winning the cup, because they knew that once we won the cup Galliani will not make any significant changes. That's the price the team paid for winning that cup, and if things don't improve we'll have to make changes again in January.

all the big transfers in italy were players going out not coming in, and we did have the biggest transfer in italy all summer with Pato.

Exactly what I said. But we just wait and see if it's will be a pattern or our sub will play with more motivation. Of course we should have started much stronger, but it's still very early.

I'm going to give a more calm response to this than I usually do.

There's an old theory that winning your home games and drawing your away games is enough to win you the league. Well, we've played 1 home game and 2 away games. That means to reach the target, we should be on 5 points, and we are.

But, there's no kidding that it's a poor result, even away from home.

Yes it is an IF but IF they do have that kind of season again (because lets face it, Serie is still weak this season and getting back on it feet) then these points that we are losing now against teams like Siena (like last season) will make it hard for us to do anything in the latter stages of the season when the leader of the league starts to lose steam and we (like always) start to pick up the steam after christmas.

Last season for example Inter wheren't playing well in the last few months and we started playing well but by then it was too late seeing as they had already passed us by 30 pts.

In games like this which should be 3 sure points resting a couple of big players shouldn't make a difference since the people that subbed them are still better then their opposite numbers. But if they continue to show the lack of motivation that they showed today then we can't rotate the team, and on top of that for you goalkeeper and defender to make blunders like they did is unacceptable.

We should have never renewed Dida's contract in the first place and I think it's time for Bonera to come ehead of Kaladze in the packing order, meaning when Paolo is not fit Bonera gets the go-ahead before Kala

Pato will certainly change the way we play. It's crucial to play with a forward and a striker together. Otherwise it will be the same story.

I think what irritates people here the most is the fact that the players didn't even start trying until the clock hit 80 minutes, atleast that's what makes me p!ssed off at the fact that we got this result. Our subs that were playing today should have been able to handle this Siena team, no questions asked.

The other week against Fiornetina was a very predictable result especially after the Super Cup and the fact that Fiorentina are a very good young team, but this week there should be no excuses.

Losing points against teams like Siena is what will eventually keep us from winning the league, not losing points against Fiorentina, Roma and Inter

Definately, today Pippo made no difference since him and Gila like always started to drift into the same positions and get in eachother's way rolleyes.gif

I think Carlo's mistake was not calling up Kaka, when you only have 2 strikers like Pippo and Gila on the bench then you shouldn't take away the option of being able to put on someone like Kaka from the bench. It gave us no other alternative then to play those 2 together and they have proven on COUNTLESS occasions that they make the situation worse when they play together

Imo Gila did nothing wrong today, and I'm not saying this because I'm on the Gila bandwagon, becouse I decided to get off that sinking ship at the beginning of the season when he started messing up against Genoa.

But today he did nothing wrong, he never even got any service from our lazy midfield, so he can't really be blamed today. Against Fiorentina, yes, it was his fault seeing as he wasted 2 clear cut chances and he wasn't even controlling the ball well, but today it was not his fault

When Ronaldo was playing next to him Gila scored so I don't see where the point comes from that. As I said, other then the 2 chances that he got in the first 5 minutes that where well saved by the keeper he had nothing going for him. Neither did Inzaghi in the second half until the team actually started playing for the last ten minutes.

Yes against Fiorentina it was his fault and I even commented on how terrible he was against them, but today I can't see how not scoring was his fault when the midfield wasn't providing anything

Pippo is just Pippo, always right place at the right time, but if you noticed his chances only came in the last 10 minutes when the team actuall STARTED PLAYING, he was on the pitch for 30 minutes before that and didn't do anyhting because he was also isolated by the lack of service from the midfield

wow... incredible. i had never seen a milan so week, so disable and so pathetic in months!

i hope we put this result behind us and think about the future... the future that doesn't look so bright in the league for us.

anyway, i think from now on, gila must fight to prevent being kicked out of milan in january, because he already has lost his place to pato.

Pato will certainly change the way we play. It's crucial to play with a forward and a striker together. Otherwise it will be the same story.

Yeah, Gila is ineffective as the lone striker as he does not have the qualities needed for the role. He had two chances which required some top notch goalkeeping so he wasnt as bad as people make him out to be. He did disappear after that though. I am interested in what peoples reactions to an Inzaghi dry patch is going to be, he will eventually stop scoring but i am interested to see if you people bash him, or still support him, only because of past glories, something which Gila does not have so he is constantly mocked for being useless

I think Berlusconi blocking the Transfers of Toni and reportedly Ribery may come back to haunt us, They would have added depth which we need

Serie A Week 3 - 15/9/07 (17.00 UK)
Siena 1 - 1 Milan
Maccarone 25 (S), Nesta 91 (M)
Stadio Franchi Montepaschi

Milan fought back for a 1-1 draw at Siena with Alessandro Nesta's volley after a truly comical Dumb & Dumber moment from Nelson Dida and Kakha Kaladze.

This was the first match played since the stadium was renamed the Stadio Artemio Franchi Arena Montepaschi, bringing in the name of the club sponsor.

The Rossoneri were preparing for their Champions League opener with Benfica, so left Kaka, Andrea Pirlo, Massimo Oddo and the injured Ronaldo behind, giving Emerson his first start for the club. Last season this fixture ended 4-3 for the visitors and Siena feared a repeat, as they had lost both their Serie A games so far this term with one goal in favour and five against. Argentine defender Leandro Grimi got to face the club that still owns his contract.

Milan were clearly in a hurry to secure the points and almost scored after 24 seconds when Dimitrios Eleftheropoulos parried an Alberto Gilardino left-foot volley set up by Emerson.

From the resulting corner kick, Clarence Seedorf's cross found the head of Gilardino for another decisive save, this time with Eleftheropolous' feet.

Yet Siena slowly got into the game as well and on 13 minutes had an excellent scoring opportunity. Daniele Galloppa dribbled past three players on the left flank and only a splendid Nelson Dida reaction save prevented him smashing a left-foot shot in at the near post.

It was Siena who took the lead in comical circumstances with Milan's version of Dumb & Dumber. Dida fumbled a timid Cristian Bucchi effort and Kakha Kaladze was ready to clear, but he too tripped up over the ball and left it for Massimo Maccarone's close-range finish. However, replays suggest the former Middlesbrough man was clearly offside.

Paolo De Ceglie also dummied the confused Kaladze soon after to fire over the bar, while Seedorf should have done better with his lob. On 33 minutes Marcos Cafu sprung the offside trap down the right and only some desperate defending in the six-yard box prevented him from netting.

Maccarone charged down the right past Giuseppe Favalli and Dida parried his powerful low drive with an outstretched foot. Then Bucchi's shot took a deflection and skimmed the head of Simone Loria.

Yoann Gourcuff's attempt was smothered by Eleftheropoulos, as was a Seedorf piledriver towards the base of the near post.

Pippo Inzaghi was introduced at half-time for Gennaro Gattuso and immediately tried to turn his marker only to be closed down by a crowd of defensive bodies. Marek Jankulovski also came on for the slow and disappointing Giuseppe Favalli.

The Rossoneri were visibly lacking in concentration, especially in defence, as another Kaladze error handed Jarolim a great chance that dipped inches over the bar.

Milan's first real chance of the second half came after 23 minutes, as Eleftheropoulos bravely came out low to grab Seedorf's pass off Inzaghi's feet, but in doing so was accidentally kicked in the head.

Substitute Massimo Ambrosini's header from a set-piece was denied by a Jarolim goalline clearance.

Seedorf was tripped in the D and curled the free kick on to the roof of the net, grazing the crossbar.

It all seemed to be dragging towards a 1-0 result when in stoppages Grimi hacked down Seedorf. The free kick was floated into the centre where De Ceglie's scuffed clearance fell straight to Alessandro Nesta for a splendid volley under the bar.

The game sprung to life and 60 seconds later Mario Frick mistimed his tackle from behind to stop Seedorf's counter-attack and was shown a straight red card.

In the final minute Cristian Brocchi was brought down in a similar position to the goal for another free kick that Seedorf smashed on to the underside of the crossbar! It bounced off the line and back out again, but did not cross over.

Okay, we've lost 2 points. Still, nothing is over. I hope we've learned something out of this one. As I said many times before, our midfield needs help and depth, and Gourcuff is not the answer. He is a guy exactly for Milan, but for Milans future. Now, we need some extra creativity. We don't have any alternative to Kaka and Pirlo - and, which makes the story even worse, we lack of wingers who could pull out some help. If we can't go through the middle, at least our wing player, and that means LB's and RB's could fead Gila with crosses. But that also can't work, cause they are either to old or not offensively wise. So that leaves us to a big nothing.

This was all about resting Pirlo and Kaka. But what when they get, God help that won't be the case, injuried and have to stay out for weeks?? What then to do?

Seriously, all these questions are rather matters for the future. Right now, we still can handle the situation elegantly. We await Ronaldo and Pato, and have a winter transfer period ahead. I'm positive our board will eventually see that we need one more midfielder, or a substitution for Gila. Gilardino, IMO, has a few months more left here with us. His time is ticking away, and only a dozen goals could save him,...

Right now, we should concentrate. I'm very happy our first poor results happened so early in the season, so that we have the time to take neccessary steps. Every great team starts slowly and then builds their form step by step. Only mid teams with ambitions start with big results, but loose themself after 10 fixtures. Our form can only go up, that is pretty sure cause we have the best team and the best coach. So this Siena match does not cause any trouble, yet,...

We played average and should have won the game but we were very unlucky as elef decided to play like petr cech against us. I would never say this under normal circumstances but i think we played allright with the team we fielded. Im not going to blame gila this time as our formation doesn't work without pirlo. No one in our midfield is even close to "good enough" to create a nice ball for the forwards. Kaka comes close, but other than that no one else can create anything. Gourcuff in maybe a few years. CL i say we field our traditional and see if gila can do anything. I give gila: 6 rating this game. So keep your bashing for gila till next week when he has some support.

Thanks,.. cool.gif

Right now, we need some optimism, and I hope the Benfica match will become ground for that.

Btw., Elef was our keeper, wasn't he?
