You know , i'm not angry about the stupid goal conceded. But i was shocked by our 90min performance.

Ok , Dida & kala made a horrible mistake.

But i said it once and im saying it again. GILARDINO WTF ???

You could see gourcuff running all around the pitch trying to steal a ball , even inzaghi was running . And there he was just waiting for the ball to come to him , gilardino.

I'm out of words , i really cant see why he is playing at a professional club like Milan , it's not fair for every young player 100 times better then him trying to find a club . and there he is keeping the defenders & the keeper busy rolleyes.gif

Get a grib milan !! losing points like this will cost you the scudetto.

Forza Milan !!

Here are Datasport's ratings:

MILAN
Strepitoso sui calci piazzati.
Gattuso 6 - Grintosa prova in mezzo al campo. Poca brillantezza ma solita sostanza. Esce per scelta tattica.
Brocchi 6 - Muscoli e grinta a centrocampo. Pecca talvolta in fase di costruzione, ma lotta sempre con il coltello tra i denti.
Emerson 5.5 - Si sveglia tardivamente, poi comincia a recuperare palloni a centrocampo.

Pippo is just Pippo, always right place at the right time, but if you noticed his chances only came in the last 10 minutes when the team actuall STARTED PLAYING, he was on the pitch for 30 minutes before that and didn't do anyhting because he was also isolated by the lack of service from the midfield
*

Yes they only started getting into gear at around the 70th minute ... But still, those chances that Pippo got, Gila should have gotten double. That is why I say he isn't Milan quality. A Milan striker doesn't need more than two or three chances on goal. With Gila, he seems to find an exception to that rule, he doesn't seem to find any chances ..

I really feel sorry for Gilardino, if he doesn't score soon, things will start getting ugly. Like his imminent sale at the end of the season for instance. I mean if Pato can deliver, Gila will be shown the back door of Milanello.

After Ronaldo will be back and if Pato even as half good as people are saying then in the winter Gila can become our 4th choice, and from there the way out is very short.

I think even sooner. It depends on him - if he keeps on playing like this and also underpreforms in the CL which is very like, his exit could be in January. I don't know what to say about him,..he is heading for the wrong direction it seems. His plays get worse, not better. Pitty, really,..and he is a rosseneri at heart, it was his dream to play with Milan, that gives him the extra credit. But not any more,... unsure.gif

Cudicini is probably the best second keeper in Europe. Valencia has a strong second with Hildebrandt too.

Some teams in Europe have young talents as their reserves (to be honest, I don't think much of this strategy, but,...), like Bayern with Rensing.

If we ever decide to search for a keeper, there's no better place then Germany,..(exept for Juventus wink.gif )

We have Sorensen, he's pretty good for a #2 keeper. Internationally proven.

But in my opinion the top #2 keepers are Cudicini, Toldo and Hilderbrandt. How can Cudicini be a #2 keeper, he is awesome. rolleyes.gif

There are a bunch of very good young German keepers. Rensing at Bayern, Neuer at Schalke, and (my favorite) Adler at Leverkusen. Maybe someone should take a look at one o fthem.

I can't believe it that you are all worried about our goalkeeper situation and no one even mentioned Kaladze... do you understand that this is professional football and that this is Milan? The guy did not even touch the bloody ball, I'm ashamed! I would ask the team not to pay my month's salary if I was him!! Are we being serious, a professional footballer, a guy who's paid to kick a round thing kicks the air instead! That was simply ridiculous, I still can't believe he did that...

I mean... how can you not kick the ball, it's right there!!!

They are both at fault, but at least Kaldze only covering until Paolo gets back. Or you can put Bonera in. Dida, on the other hand, past his best, imo, and we don't have anyone who can play instead.

Of course Kaladze should have done his job. But if Dida would have done his job in the first place all this wouldn't happen. Just catch the f@cken ball!! or at least push it to the corner or something. It wasn't a stong shot at all.

Kaladze is Kaladze. He never will be a world class (but of course it doesnt excuse him from such a mistake). But from supposed world class keeper I expect more. From any Milan keeper I expect more. His mistakes are becoming a pattern.

The only reason I can think of the Kaladze thing is this:

When the ball bounces of Dida, he rushed out to collect it. Kaladze sees Dida while he is attempting to clear it, and is worried he'll kick Dida on the folloe through, to me it looks as the he (Kaladaze) pulls out a little when trying to kick the ball.

So what I'm saying is, on seeing Dida, he redirects his swing, meaning he misses the ball. That's the best I could come up with. tongue.gif

There's not much to say, this draw is fine, it's OK like this. When we have 11 players available only on the last training, it's normal for this to happen. The Italian internationals came back at 6 in the morning on Thursday, the Brazilians in the afternoon, it's hard to do better than this. The calendar said we had to play Saturday at 18:00. We can recriminate for a few episodes, their offside goal, Seedorf's free kick on the crossbar, there are a few regrets. Do we feel like playing in Europe again? Always!"

Yes, they all do very fine. Plus Enke, Weidenfeller and Wiese (of which my opinion is not very good, but stil,...) from the older generation makes Germany the country with most talented keepers. Their keepers, and the italian ones, allways were top in football history,..
We had Lehmann once, now we should go for another German keeper. Right now Italy lacks of keepers. Amelia is, IMO overrated. But for second keepers there are some possibilities like Castellazzi from Samp.

You agree with me that the team didn't start playing until the 70th minutes, so how could Gila get twice as many as Pippo when there was practically no service from the midfield before that, the only 2 chances he got he forced great saves from the keeper. Ok my first serious post in the match thread.

Look peeps, I appreciate your worry that dropping points against a weak team is dangerous for our title hopes. I also agree that it's these small matches that make a huge difference.

But hnestly, here is where I find issues. The first small team we faced, we dispatched. Agree?

The second team we faced was imo a team as good as the current Juve maybe even on their day better. We were tired from a long flight, and Carletto had the sense to know that he couldn't afford to put in a tier-2 side against the Viola who always go for the win. Result was we ended up with a draw. Not a gr8 performance but fatigue was a very clear cut reason there.

And then we faced Siena, who are obviously a bottom of the league side currently, we faced them away and I admit 3 points were there for the taking.

For one, we played with a first 11 who were seeing each other for the first time. In fact except for the Nesta-Kala combo(which didn't help much), this was a whole new team. Seedorf and Gila are not really regular combining players, it is usually Kaka who links with Seedorf and Gila. And Gourcuff is not yet the walk in creative maestro that all of us would like him to be...at least not yet. Sure he looks good, has got great talent and control etc. , but unlike in a forward for whom only the previous qualities would suffice, to be a creative centrepiece, you need some experience, some cunning etc. Fabregas is truly marvellous in that sense, when at a young age he is doing so remarakably well as probably the creative fulcrum of that side.

We were without Kaka and Pirlo which means you've subtracted 70% of our first team's creativity and attacking thrust. Emerson was always going to find it slow going to move from his pure DM role he held to a water carrier kind of position.

I haven't seen Gila play, so won't judge. In any case I'm behind Gila till he's sold or whatever.

As for the rest of the people, everyone seems in an inordinate hurry to judge. So we dropped points, which is a sight better than losing outright. Secondly I agree it would be worrying if we started a trend with this, like last season, but hey guess what 90% of the people complaining have seen one match and decided it's a trend.

I already told you all, if it's December and we're lying more than 5 or 6 points behind the leader then we'll worry.

As for Inter , if you could just subtract Zlatan from the Inter equation you know all you got is a sh!t team. Without Zlatan acting as a connector between their midfield and forward line, they're just as toothless as any other team. Same is the case with us and Kaka. Though imo even without Kaka I've seen Pirlo step up to the plate and bat well.

^^^^

Great post Cap'n.

Agreed on everything you said on there. But if we continue to lose points against these team then we'll lose the scudetto by christmas.

And I repeat, what really irritated me about this game is not the result, but the fact that the players that where given a chance today where not even trying. That's what gets me p!ssed off.

So imo, we should let this one slide like we did with Fiorentina because both times it was in a hard week of our season (after the Super Cup, after international duties and resting practically all of our creative players) but this seriously cannot keep happening.

If we draw against Parma in the next round that we should start the warning alarms.

Ancelotti Admits Milan Did Not Deserve Win

Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti was left disappointed by his team's performance after the 1-1 draw at Siena.

Following the 1-1 draw away to Siena, Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti was understandably dissatisfied with the performance of his team.

"We started very well with two great chances, then slowly the match became more difficult, we started playing slowly and we went behind," he said.

"They had a very strong and determined defence which made it difficult for us."

"If Seedorf had scored on that free kick (he hit the crossbar from a direct free kick in the fifth minute of injury time), it would have been too much for us.

"Milan did not play a good match today.

"We prepared for the game amid many difficulties because of the recent international matches, but we have to get used to that and improve our team spirit.

"Dida? He clearly made a mistake, and so did the linesman who did not flag for offside," Ancelotti concluded.

For once, it is not just a case of the coach trying to find excuses, as replays clearly showed that Massimo Maccarone was in an offside position as he scored what almost turned out to be a key goal.

I do agree with u that the whole team didn't play well till the 70th, yes. But that doesn't mean they didn't try to send the ball in. I mean why did Carlo bring Inzaghi on if he wasn't at fault ?? Because he needed someone he can depend on. Gilardino was lost in that box. I mean even those chances that he got in the first minutes, as dangerous as they were I was convinced he wasn't gonna score for us !!! That is how bad it is.

Maybe I am going over the hill with this or maybe I am being realistic here ... But he should have had more chances than Pippo and by that, he should have moved into better positions, or to connect with Seedorf or Cafu ... I mean he has been playing with this team for 2 years now, this being his 3rd. He is considered a Milan first XI player. He isn't acting like it and he sure doesn't deserve u defending him.

Seriously han, forget about I'm right or your right here .. Let's talk logic. He is not Milan quality and he showed it yesterday. With Kaka he doesn't score, with Pirlo he doesn't score, with Seedorf he doesn't score, wth Sheva/R99 he barely scores ... I mean what exactly are you defending ?! He is supposed to be a professional.

Agreed 100% !!!!

Offside?

I think it'd have been very harsh to disallow the goal for offside.

I can't remember which player had the shot, but as he hit it, MM was offside, but he was not really interfering with play. The ball then bounced off Dida, towards Kaladze, who missed the ball, MM then stole in and scored. He did not gain any advantage whatsoever from being offside when the initial ball was struck, considering he came back onside to collect the ball.

Even though I'm one of Gila's very few fans on here, he needs to star getting some goals. Well, not even goals, even if he works hard, or puts in a few good performances, even I'm losing patience.

At the end of the season, if things do not improve. Kaladze, Dida and Gila all need to go. Their mistakes/wasted chances are hurting us way too much.

But then he took part in the play to score.. so isn't he offside then?

I do agree with u that the whole team didn't play well till the 70th, yes. But that doesn't mean they didn't try to send the ball in. I mean why did Carlo bring Inzaghi on if he wasn't at fault ?? Because he needed someone he can depend on. Gilardino was lost in that box. I mean even those chances that he got in the first minutes, as dangerous as they were I was convinced he wasn't gonna score for us !!! That is how bad it is.

The Siena defenders where crowding him out because he was seriously outnumbered in that box and all their defenders where taller then him, so no matter how many times Cafu or Janku tried to cross the ball in, their defenders easily cleared it because of their heigth advantage, that's why another striker was desperately needed because only one in there was not making any effect.

I don't think you are going over the hill at all with what you're saying, it is true that he diserves all this criticsm because he's had countless chances and wasted them all, but all I'm saying is that for this SPECIFIC game he doesn't desrve all of the blame to go to him like it usually does here when it was not his fault that he didn't recieve any service.

I'm only backing him up on this specific game not on all of the games so far, because of that was the case then I would be on your side because he has been very poor in all of our other games.

I don't think it's the fact that he lacks quality, he showed at his time at Parma that he has that, but he seems to have gone backwards from that instead of improving.

As I previously mentioned I don't think he has it in him to play as a lone striker for a club like Milan, he needs to have someone beside him that is able to carry the brunt of the team. And I'm not saying that's a good thing because when we bought him most of us expected him to manage to lead the attack like he did for Parma, but he just isn't cut out for that.

I think when we revert back to the 2 strikers formation he will do better. But if he doesn't improve this season I think it would be a good decision for both parties to part ways and try to get as much out of his sale as we can.

Him, Kala and Dida need to be evaluated on their performances at the end of this season and if they don't live up to what we expect from Milan players who are starters then all of them should be shown the door.
