EDIT: woops, killer beat me to it.
Anyway, Balo is not starting the match as you can see

. Typical 4-3-3 we've been using for some time.

Not bad.
Balo isn't match fit and I'd rather him play at the end than come off around the hour mark.

Yeah, but look at that midfield and Bonera in defence.
And it's not like SES or Niang can really supply a player like Balo.
If Balo was Ibra then I wouldn't be worried, but Balo still needs proper service to thrive

At least play a slightly creative forward in Bojan

Not a Niang who only run up the wing in a straight line.
Also, I'd have preferred Zaccardo over the terrible Bonera who will undoubtedly be rusty
Great stuff Balo!

What does his age have to do with the type of player he is?
Great defensive workrate yes, I'm impressed with that. But as far attacking play goes? If Abate wasn't doing the type of work he's doing he'd be absolutely clueless out there. Running in a straight line a hacking in crosses is not what I call great attacking play
Also his miss was also a huge tell for me

That's your narrow one-sided view of things. He has been dribbling, running into space, linking with Balo, Flamini and Abate and he has also threatened the goalkeeper in addition to winning a handful of corners. And there are other who agree with me. Does he make some mistakes? YES. But it's no f@cking problem as he is playing well and learning.

Dribbling?
I haven't seen him complete one dribble!
I don't think it's narrow minded when I'm saying exactly what I see instead of just closing one eye because he's a youngster and we all p!ss ourselves silly everytime a youngster steps onto the pitch for us
I think the kid has a lot of potential to be a really good CF. All his characteristics show this, the way he links up by making lay offs and always looking for that 1-2, the way he shields the ball, his physicality, etc.
But I'm sorry, I cannot accept him as a winger when our attack could be so much more fluint
