if it counts anything, thought Niang was very good so far too. Some nice unexpected dribblings, great effort, good passes .. (apart from this backheel just now).

What?

Such a brutally unrefined player

Sure his defensive work is good but that's not why he's there.

Again, have no idea what you are talking about. Unrefined? HE IS 18. Of@cking corse he is unrefined. He has been doing really well on that right side so far.

What does his age have to do with the type of player he is?

Great defensive workrate yes, I'm impressed with that. But as far attacking play goes? If Abate wasn't doing the type of work he's doing he'd be absolutely clueless out there. Running in a straight line a hacking in crosses is not what I call great attacking play

Also his miss was also a huge tell for me

That's your narrow one-sided view of things. He has been dribbling, running into space, linking with Balo, Flamini and Abate and he has also threatened the goalkeeper in addition to winning a handful of corners. And there are other who agree with me. Does he make some mistakes? YES. But it's no f@cking problem as he is playing well and learning.

Agreed, I think the team and fans have all been uplifted by Mario's arrival. Hope Niang can use this performance as a platform to improve on further.

Dribbling?

I haven't seen him complete one dribble!

I don't think it's narrow minded when I'm saying exactly what I see instead of just closing one eye because he's a youngster and we all p!ss ourselves silly everytime a youngster steps onto the pitch for us

I think the kid has a lot of potential to be a really good CF. All his characteristics show this, the way he links up by making lay offs and always looking for that 1-2, the way he shields the ball, his physicality, etc.

But I'm sorry, I cannot accept him as a winger when our attack could be so much more fluint

Good half. Nocerino and Flamini have been brilliant so far.

your being way too harsh, he's one of the best on the pitch.

Attacking, creating plays, tracking back, supporting. His crosses have all been either corners or serious threats.

If anything Stephan has been the one out of the 3 to have not really impacted the game

What's happened to Montolivo? Mistakes everywhere.

It's the usual mediocre Monto again.

Seems I'm the only one agreeing here. I really can't see why he's been "stellar".

The general feeling here is positive ... I like that, hope it remains this way and in Milan's case, success (IMG:style_emoticons/default/96.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/king.gif)
