Hope Juve wins this one smile.gif
Jack Bauer
Our squad: Abbiati, Amelia: Abate, Acerbi, Antonini, Bonera, De Sciglio, Mesbah, Yepes, Zapata: Boateng, Constant, Emanuelson, Flamini, Montolivo, Nocerino, Traorè, Valoti: Cassano, El Shaarawy, Pato, Robinho.

Allegri said that Mexes won't play because of bad fitness but should be ready next week, Ambro won't play because of some leg problem and Nocerino will be rested. Bonera and Zapata will be Cb's, Montolivo probably will play in front of defense, Pato and Boteng should start.

Pirlo and Buffon won't play as well.

biggrin.gif Exactly!

As for the Mexes bit, I hope Allegri isn't just spewing BS for keeping Mexes out of the team for his own personal reasons.

Still if I were him I would have played our Primaveras

Probable line-up:

Abbiati; Abate, Bonera, Zapata, Antonini; Montolivo, Flamini, Constant; Boateng; Robinho, Pato.

A bit of everything: creativity, muscle and pace. It could work well. It should work better with Nocerino instead of Flamini.

Juventus better in almost all categories, and they still lack two of their key players. It will be very hard this year..
X-Offender
We clearly need another striker up front. Robinho alone is not enough. Very disappointed by Boateng so far. I think the guy's been hyped too much around here. A few spectacular goals don't make you a world class player. I really like what I'm seeing from Constant. The guy has class and works very hard. Nice addition.

People wanted us to lose this cup, so here it is.

Not that I think it will work this time. Even if we lose 12-1, we still won't win Serie A this season.
Fillipo Simone
Not so impressed by Zapata. But, he'll do the job better then Acerbi, that's sure.
X-Offender
We really should think of playing Constant as LB if nobody comes till the transfer window closes. Really good utility player. As for our performance, we lack creativity upfront. Boateng once again proved why he's completely inappropriate to wear the #10 jersey. Robinho moved a lot and was overall one of the best players on the pitch, though he should work on his passing accuracy. What kept me worried was our defensive instability and weakness. Juve had plenty of chances to score. Nearly every win of the ball transformed into a dangerous counterattack for them. I think a strong, physical player in front of the defense is a necessity. Montolivo, whilst performing really good, doesn't have what it takes to defend as well as organize our game. Fullbacks were mediocre as usual. Pato failed to make any kind of impact on the game, but it's too early to judge him. So yeah, a couple of quality signings become fundamental at this point. Hopefully our caring president realizes this and signs a nice check to Galliani to spend in these last few mercato days.
han2503
What's painfully obvious is that unless we get someone in who can link up the attack with the rest of the team then we will struggle. Pato was barely a blip once he came on, if Cassano is in fact sold then I don't know how we'll be able to accomplish anything in the attacking department.

If Pato cannot be provided with proper support from the midfield and his strike partner then he'll be just as useless as the rest of the players on this team.

Constant and Robinho were the only impressive players on the pitch. Even Abbiati screwed up on a couple of catches. If we don't bring at least 2 more midfielders and keep Cassano then this will be a brutal season for us

Getting Pazzini and removing our last creative attacking component from the team is suicide.

Yes, let's blame a poor performance on our best player! Genius. Is he to be the new scapegoat?

You know, if you didn't agree with the 'hype' in the first place why would you have been 'disappointed' in him given he was merely fulfilling your judgement of him?

I really don't understand this; do you know how Cassano can be? He can be the poison that could bring us down faster then any Galliani or Berlusconi? Cassano was a gamble when we took him, but a risk worth taking. Now he's a ticking bomb and it's better we give it away. Sell him and bring anyone else.

Why would keeping a unloyal crazy old Cassano be worth anything? I'd rather take my chances with anyone else; but he made his decision, he wants to leave - even if it is the most ungrateful thing to do.

He's not a scapegoat. But he certainly cannot be our starting AM. He's useless there without Zlatan, he needs to be moved back in midfield and someone needs to fill that AM position ASAP, because not only will Boateng fail, but so will Pato, and if we can't have someone scoring on a regular basis then we'll be up against it.

And giving a player like Cassano to Inter in exchange for Pazzini, while also being the paying party in the equation is understandable???

We won't get Cesar and Pazzini simply because we'll be the jokers in this entire deal. Cassano is our last creative attacking option, surely you get how dire we are in that area. Letting him go would kill any chances of a decent season. A player like him can be kept in check, if he's given playing time, he'll find his happiness again.

Is it a wonder that all of our big players are suddenly unhappy, while all our senators were none to happy about the situation at Milan? Allegri is the common factor here. He'd be happy with a squad of average players so he can control them as he wishes. If he can't manage to keep 2 players like Mexes and Cassano then what does this say about our future, especially if Galliani has the intention of letting him stay on beyond this season?

And forget about Kaka, he's not coming. It's financially impossible to get him. Galliani wants to get every player on loan with an option to buy, maybe clubs go for that for the likes of Zapata, Constant, Muntari, etc, but certainly not for players like Kaka. And even if we get past the first hurdle of getting Real to practically give him to us for nothing, we'd still be stuck on the wage situation.

That's what Nesta said to the press because he's too classy to bad mouth Allegri. Rino said some things about it, and I tend to believe what Rino says. He's not one for BSing. He tells it like it is, and he also implied that the dressing room atmosphere has basically deteriorated.

As for Dinho, It was still a situation of Allegri not wanting him because he had no clue of how to fit him into his system, same goes with Pirlo

Allegri didn't convince anyone, it was Galliani who talked to him a couple of days ago and it was said that all was ok and that Cassano was ready to stay for the duration of his contract. And suddenly he wants out.

Pato never required any special attention from our previous coaches. Leo played him as a winger and he still performed better under him. Their relationship has been frosty for a while which is why we were on the verge of selling him in January.

And now it will happen with Mexes and Cassano as well.

Our team will be mid-table quality a best by the end of this window, at least that's right up Allegri's comfort zone rolleyes.gif

As an attacking midfielder...

His simply does not have the qualities to support our strikers, especially without Cassano now.

Robinho drifts too wide while Pato stays up too much, so Prince simple gets lost in the jumbled up mess we have upfront. He's going to be wasted in the position.

The Allegri can't deal with creative players..came from the fact that he "got rid" of both Pirlo and Ronaldinho.
Now,I said my views on Dinho...he's too lazy to play for us etc...so I will have to agree with Allegri's decision.
Now,for Pirlo...we've had that discussion a lot. And,we agreed there were quite the several factors to this deal, but you choose to blame Allegri only...OK.
X-Offender
Han, you know I'm one of Allegri's most fierce critics around here, but blaming Cassano's situation on the guy is going overboard. After his positive Euro performance, Cassano wanted a contract extension with a substantial pay increase, which Galliani didn't offer him, so the guy got pissed and asked to be let go. How exactly does Allegri fit into all this? If anything, like William said, he tried to reason with Cassano and convince him to stay. Blaming Allegri for everything is not the way to go.
han2503
QUOTE (Danny @ Aug 20 2012, 12:41 PM) *

Forced is a strong word, but only a man who can play a midfield of Rino, Ambro and Flamini or Nocerino, VB and Muntari can come up with playing a player with Prince's characteristics in the most creatively demanding position on the pitch when playing a diamond.

I'm just saying that Prince will be wasted and made to look far worse then he is in that position without a creative attacker ahead of him

The theory didn't just come about without any reason to it. He struggled to find a position for both players. The other factor was the contract length which wasn't on Allegri, but the management discussed Pirlo with Allegri, who in return told them that Pirlo isn't in his plans. So why offer a 3 year deal to someone who isn't in the plans of the coach? Money was never the issue as he's earning half of what he did with us at Juve

I'm going out on a limb here but Carlo forced Pirlo into exactly the same slot. That one didn't work out too badly.

I agree that Prince and Pirlo are different players, but Lampard plays at the apex of the midfield 'diamond' for Chelsea too and that works well.

He might be playing in the hole but it does not mean Price is being played as as a treq anyway.

It's not where Prince is playing that matters, it's how the team is built in general that's in question right now. And the current squad is weak and morale is low. With Max resigning us to fighting maybe for a CL spot he doesn't know one way or the other the best formation to get the best out of the mediocrity he's got.

Now you're inventing stuff, han. No such thing ever happened, not that I recall. There was an article on Sportmediaset a few days ago which said Cassano had decided to stay with us until 2013, which turns out to have been another media invention. Allegri above everyone else would have killed to keep Cassano, but the scum has set his mind on leaving.

Also, let's wait for the official numbers before we call anything BS. So far, everyone knows that Cassano's reason for leaving is because he wanted to be the most paid player in the team after Thiago and Ibra left. That's why he doesn't "feel part of the project", not because Allegri doesn't have faith in him or anything.
