read in FI yesterday or the day before, Muntari is very content and wants to retire at Milan king.gif

He's been a good servant for the past couple of years, under which all coaches relied on him to battle that midfield.

I'm laughing at the fact that you called him a dependable servant (laugh.gif), more like a lazy idiot. And also at the fact that you're once again pointing out that all the coaches have relied on him when that in fact is not true. Seedorf certainly didn't and with Pippo as of yet it's difficult to tell but I can imagine him dropping him sooner rather than later with how Jack and even Poli are both performing. Not to mention the fact that Muntari nearly assisted Chievo not ONCE but TWICE last Saturday. Yeah, great dependable starting DM right there laugh.gif

Also love how you call him a DM when he spends more time level with the strikers than actually helping out De Jong in any defensive work, last I checked De Jong is suspended from the Verona game because he had to make a tactical foul because of Muntari once again giving up the ball in a dangerous area

But yeah, let's party that he got his contract renewed with a pay hike as well fiesta.gif

Seedorf - Muntari played 78% of games (14 of 18 available)

Ahh the magic question and even more enchanting number that would follow.

I know for a fact that Mourinho rarely used him as a starter, Seedorf as well.
han2503
These are his numbers at inter in all competitions

09/10: 18 starts, 18 sub appearances
10/11 Inter: 3 starts, 8 sub appearance +
10/11 Sunderland: 7 starts, 2 sub appearance on loan (because he was so good at Inter they just had to share him with Sunderland)
11/12: 1 start, 3 sub appearances

Before they promptly offloaded him to our knuckle head management who in recent history have an amazing track record of getting talent into the fold, Traore, Birsa, Zaccardo, Silvestre, to name but a few of the stellar names we've been lucky to have on our squads these last few years

Yes, these numbers are the very representation of a player that a club heavily relies on rolleyes.gif the fact is he has more sub appearances than he has start for Inter say it all.

I don't know how truly accurate those are as his total appearances under Mourinho (starts + subs) would amount to nearly all of his appearances at Inter and he was there for 2(?) more years after Mou.

Transfermarkt is hardly a bible for football, (neither is whoscored mind you), I just find them very accurate usually and personally I don't ever remember him being an important component of Mourinho's Inter, I do remember when he subbed him on late in a game and managed to get sent off within a few minutes.

It's very accurate and detailed. Muntari 08-09 season. You can sort a players career by pretty much anything. Season, competition, coach and it'll list all the games for that criteria.

Why do we feel the urge to continue long past discussions till everything sound like a broken record.

We're discussing Muntari now, Kurt has given us some interesting stats and tried to show how popular opinion and memory can be deceptive. Just hold on to that part of the discussion and forget the edgy parts. For the season by season, I'm not sure. It looks like it just shows the minutes.

For the general overview, it shows total appearances and it also shows how many times they were subbed in. So starts would be 'total appearances - sub appearances'.

For the 18 months after Mourinho, while he was still at Inter, it seems none of the coaches really fancied Muntari in their team. Benitez, Gasperini, Leonardo and Ranieri all seemed to not use him much. On one hand you could say it's because he's bad, but Leo aside those coaches hardly covered themselves in glory at Inter.

Muntari in all club competitions:

08/09: 33 starts - 3 subs
09/10: 23 starts - 20 subs
10/11: 11 starts - 10 subs

12/13: 12 starts - 6 subs
13/14: 26 starts - 9 subs

Oh and I believe Kurt has a pretty healthy outlook toward the club, its players and so on. It's just that Muntari is obviously disliked here. That's why the words useless and such are thrown around (by me too). I'm one of the people that just doesn't wanna see him in the line up. But he is obviously not useless. Just really mistake prone and somewhat lazy and that for me outweighs the benefits he offers. Thing is though, we can't really afford much better. Like Poli hasn't really been a World beater since we signed him. I always am noticing his niggling mistakes. But he has a do or die attitude and that makes me like him. Muntari? Not so much.
kurtsimonw
I can't really say I disagree with any of that. If I'm picking my current best Milan XI, Muntari is not on it. When I am not of the same critical level s some of you guys, it doesn't mean I rate him highly.

The middle 2 are weak. But is that a bad thing for Muntari? First 2 seasons, he played pretty regular, won Serie A titles, including a treble/CL win. The middle 2, where he barely played, Inter sucked. The fact he didn't play much is probably more of an argument for him than against him.

I do agree that it shows what we've become. Would he have enough been on the bench a decade or so ago? No way.

He had 7 starts at Sunderland in 10/11 and his 11/12 numbers are mostly boosted by Allegri since we got him mid season, his last 2 seasons at Inter he got something like 2 and 3 starts respectively.

His numbers in his first 2 seasons at Inter are strong, I have to admit that, but Mourinho also subbed him off something like 38 times in total over those 2 seasons

Because it's either brought up or we're in a match thread and one can't help but comment?

R7 brought Muntari up and was clearly looking for a debate with his king.gif and loyal servant cr@p about Muntari, and during a match thread he's usually so bad that one can't help himself but notice Muntari and comment about how bad he is. So you think that because this is an exhausted subjected we should for example ignore the fact that he's just tried to assist the opposing team 3 times and got De Jong suspended for the following game in the process?

Lol, are you serious?? I can post one huge post right here and now on people calling you out on your bating posts as I took time out of my day to actually look back through posts and compile it.

If you want me to do it say so and I will, your call.

I have nothing against you, I might completely disagree with you about your opinions on the management and FFP and such and I respect those opinions no matter how strongly I disagree with them, what I cannot respect is you constantly bating people with sarcastic posts bordering on trolling the forum to rile people up.

And this is also something that I have documented on my hard drive on a note pad with your posts and their dates and times.

I don't have anything against anyone here on a personal level, that's just not my style, I've had blow outs with many people with regards to footballing matters, ask Danny and kurt wink.gif, but I never go past the invisible line with anyone, and I've ignored your bating posts more than once now choosing to not reply when others have, but now that I have gone down to that level and chosen to troll you back you get offended.

Not derailing anything, just saying you have a long history of bating people and your "opinion" of Muntari was another case of this.

And it's really not about people disagreeing with your opinion and you know this. I took the time to compile the posts because you're trying to act the innocent about this when there's a long history of this behaviour from you, if you want I'll be kind enough to PM the post to you so as not to show it in front of others, but even so you know what I'm talking about.

Han, I dislike Muntari playing for us almost as strongly as you and X do but I have to tell you that you don't come off well in this sequence of posts. More than a little unhealthily focused on R7 and his posting. Regardless how you feel about his opinions he is certainly within his rights to post as sarcastically and snarky as he likes.
