not as a starter.....

Van Persie
Van der Vaart*, Sneijder*, Kuijt

*or switched
X-Offender
Or rather...

Kuyt - Sneijder - v. Persie
Huntelaar

Can't see neither van der Vaart nor Sneijder play as wingers.

Simply not going to happen.. Van Persie will be the CF...

Afellay and Elia (as LW) have more chance to start than Huntelaar.

I like Elia. He's entertaining to watch.

Agreed.

Elia, Van Persie, Kuijt could be the attack now... and I think it's a good one.
And Sneijder at 10, so still no Van der Vaart?
ForzaMaldini
I prefer Affelay instead of Elia.
Elia is a pure winger, while Affelay could play central as well as a winger.

Since we talk about the left wing position, you just gave reasons to play Elia over Afellay.

i'd also give afellay the nod, he shows more chemistry with the likes of Van persie/Vdv...

Wow, I just realized Huntelaar is only 23. Maybe we should give him another year or two before giving up on him.
X-Offender
Dude, Huntelaar is 26, not 23.
servbot
That's what I thought too, ESPN has him listed as being born in August 1986. I'll take your word for it though. That shows how much I trust ESPN for football content.

Fishdoll
FIfa's got him as born 1986 if that helps.

No, they've got him listed as 1983.

Okay, I can't type. I really did mean 1983. Fins can be really inconvenient at times!

Do you think that's maybe what Kaladze said too? Which is why he's been here forever.

No, that was probably "I will not leave Milan even though I won't demonstrate my worth."

I'd take Elia over Afellay any day. Afellay can play many positions, but as far as I've seen, he's not "home" at any of the options.

Happy Birthday Huntelaar !!

Sky Sports - Breaking News: Schalke have signed Klaas-Jan Huntelaar from AC Milan for £10.5Mil

ciao ciao
Linkman
Shouldn't this go to the past players section?

EDIT: Bori's too!
Jack Sparrow
Sorry. Will fix this.

Borriello is as of now on loan with option. So it's not 'official'.

For what little it's worth, both Huntelaar and Bori scored for their teams this round. rolleyes.gif Happy for them!

Yep, but other then that, Schalke and Hunt have a lot to worry. This may be their worst season start in decades; lost 4 out of 4 plus the Champions League defeat as well.

Well the same will happen for us. Imo we improved big time on both Hunter and Bori. Our problems are still the same as they've been before, FB and midfield too slow due to age. Our team usually take time before they really hit form, which is why we usually did so well in the CL in the past under Carlo
acid911
Agreed, as I said our new signings, great as they are, as still a plaster job. smile.gif Any half decent coach can outsmart and out-think our game, so it is up to the players to be at the 100% all the time, and Allegri as well to define plans A, B and Cs. When we are good, we are great, when we are not, we suck big time. That's the sign of a team that has issues. Successful or strong teams don't turn into gold one day, and dust overnight.

As for Hunter and Bori, well for me he was as average a player as it can get, good in most everything, not particularly great at any specific thing. Hunter was a touch player, and his strong point was finishing. Take him out of the penalty box and well it seemed the team was a man short. With Bori this wasn't the case, and hence he was more successful than Huntelaar (comparatively speaking of course). Still can't say I don't wish them good in the future endeavors.
Suhail 3
I wish the best for huntelaar, really hope he can hit the heights in bundesliga. Hunter always had potential and being considered a flop in madrid an milan, just hoping he does well an maybe who knows join bayern in the end wink.gif
acid911
Amen to that, bro. cool.gif It's one thing if someone is a talentless hack, and another if he is a good player who did not fit in the system. Huntelaar was the later type, and I still remember all of his goals vividly, few they were, but each one special, each one classy. Apart from the one penalty, of course, that was just good.

His two goals that sank Catania were a joy to behold, and the last one against Cagliari from 30 yards out was a thing of beauty. But anyway, he is a good bloke, and hopefully finds his scoring boots in the German league as well.
Linkman
I do regret he basically wasn't given a real chance at Milan... So all the best wishes to Klaas-Jan.
acid911
Well it seems like your best wishes are going through. biggrin.gif Hunter scored for his team again! laugh.gif And so did Bori. Fate sure is cruel when it wants to be.
X-Offender
Ibra scored too, you know.
CHU-LIP
Huntelaar succeeding at Schalke doesn't mean he would at Milan. No way we should regret letting him go.

Ditto.
acid911
Oh, totally agreed. smile.gif I've just been following their progress, Hunter and Bori at their new clubs, this does not in any way means they should or would have been playing in Milan. Both had their chances, and that was that. Besides our current problems run much deeper than the need of strikers.

Still like I said, good on both guys, Hunter scored the winner for his team, and Borriello did good as well.

And Hunter scored again for Schalke. laugh.gif Serie A surely wasn't meant for him, I guess. Fingers crossed now Borriello also gets on the scoring sheet later tonight against inter. I want Roma to win!

And again - a Champions League goal. He's in good shape right now.

Maybe Hunter is just the type of player who struggles in a big team where he isn't top dog. Like Gilardino for example.
