Or rather...
Kuyt - Sneijder - v. Persie
Huntelaar
Can't see neither van der Vaart nor Sneijder play as wingers.

Simply not going to happen.. Van Persie will be the CF...
Afellay and Elia (as LW) have more chance to start than Huntelaar.

Elia, Van Persie, Kuijt could be the attack now... and I think it's a good one.
And Sneijder at 10, so still no Van der Vaart?

I prefer Affelay instead of Elia.
Elia is a pure winger, while Affelay could play central as well as a winger.

I'd take Elia over Afellay any day. Afellay can play many positions, but as far as I've seen, he's not "home" at any of the options.

Yep, but other then that, Schalke and Hunt have a lot to worry. This may be their worst season start in decades; lost 4 out of 4 plus the Champions League defeat as well.

Well the same will happen for us. Imo we improved big time on both Hunter and Bori. Our problems are still the same as they've been before, FB and midfield too slow due to age. Our team usually take time before they really hit form, which is why we usually did so well in the CL in the past under Carlo
acid911
Sep 21 2010, 11:37 AM
Agreed, as I said our new signings, great as they are, as still a plaster job.

Any half decent coach can outsmart and out-think our game, so it is up to the players to be at the 100% all the time, and Allegri as well to define plans A, B and Cs. When we are good, we are great, when we are not, we suck big time. That's the sign of a team that has issues. Successful or strong teams don't turn into gold one day, and dust overnight.
As for Hunter and Bori, well for me he was as average a player as it can get, good in most everything, not particularly great at any specific thing. Hunter was a touch player, and his strong point was finishing. Take him out of the penalty box and well it seemed the team was a man short. With Bori this wasn't the case, and hence he was more successful than Huntelaar (comparatively speaking of course). Still can't say I don't wish them good in the future endeavors.

I wish the best for huntelaar, really hope he can hit the heights in bundesliga. Hunter always had potential and being considered a flop in madrid an milan, just hoping he does well an maybe who knows join bayern in the end
acid911
Sep 21 2010, 04:36 PM
Amen to that, bro.

It's one thing if someone is a talentless hack, and another if he is a good player who did not fit in the system. Huntelaar was the later type, and I still remember all of his goals vividly, few they were, but each one special, each one classy. Apart from the one penalty, of course, that was just good.
His two goals that sank Catania were a joy to behold, and the last one against Cagliari from 30 yards out was a thing of beauty. But anyway, he is a good bloke, and hopefully finds his scoring boots in the German league as well.

Oh, totally agreed.

I've just been following their progress, Hunter and Bori at their new clubs, this does not in any way means they should or would have been playing in Milan. Both had their chances, and that was that. Besides our current problems run much deeper than the need of strikers.
Still like I said, good on both guys, Hunter scored the winner for his team, and Borriello did good as well.

Maybe Hunter is just the type of player who struggles in a big team where he isn't top dog. Like Gilardino for example.
