out of the kindness of your heart could you give me a good reason as to why you still like doink the clown' a.k.a DIDA then perhaps i ll consider shutting it about mr dramatical
other OTHER than past perfomances where he let the ball slip through against leeds or perhaps the time he got hit by a bus at celtic park

im ready to hear this one no marks for good looks he gets a rather minus 999 in that aspect

I agree on the quality issue, there's no doubt he's better than Storari but honestly I do not feel safe with Dida between the posts. He can make world class saves but it's maybe more probable that he'll make a shaky mistake. I think he has lost all confidence he had.
Exactly. Me too. That's why Abbiati should stay on goal when fit. But when not - to me there's no doubt about Dida. With Storari I've got an even worser feeling.

I haven't seen him for a while, but unless he's gone downhill rapidly, then he isn't useless.

He certainly isn't useless. I'd say he's on par with Storari. Abs and Dida are better.

I used to be very critical of him, I've been much less so the past year or so.. but this is it for me. The fact we won is irrelevant, he let in a very, very bad goal which could have cost us the game. He's lucky his opposite number had a mare.
Jack Sparrow
Oct 21 2009, 10:37 PM
He did pull off quite a few brilliant stops after that. He's still one of the best shot stoppers in the world. But the way he suddenly switches off is frightening.
It's no surprise he's still second choice.

To me Dida is similar to that of a Kaladze. An overall decent player.
Plays quite soildly throughout, but then a lack of consistency is seen, and he costs us dearly.
He is a RISK! (possibly more...)
dst
Oct 22 2009, 10:02 AM
Dida is much more than a Kaladze. The latter is at best a not bad defender, the former is a great goalie but they both make so many mistakes they can't be trusted.
If I was Dida I think the worst thing for me would not be the blunder itself but the knowledge that people were not surprised I made it. I don't think anyone really was surprised.

dropping that ball was a new low for dida, i'm used to him misjudging in-swingers but to gift raul that goal was just terrible, it'll be on dvds bloopers for hundreds of years(if they still have dvds then)
worst still is that he's allowed raul equal inzaghi's tally without breaking much sweat, we all know how much inzaghi hustles for his own goals

he indeed does a lot of work running into offside positions& sometimes playing a con on defenders, linesmen,
camera angles+ the tap ins

i commend a decent performance. I can't really say anything better because when you play for a team like milan in the CL match of the week, you can't be making those mistakes!!! you just can't!, i'm just going to holdout for Abs to come back, as i miss the guys energy. Dider did make a nice save on Alonso though which was going in.

If I'd have conceeded the 1st and 3rd goals like he did I'd have threw a strop on the field and asked to be subbed. You don't get beaten at your near post from 30 yards, or at any distance. Pato barely put any power on his 2nd goal, he pretty much just rediirected it, yet he was again beaten at his near post.

Are you kidding me? the 1st and 3rd goal? and on the 2nd goal he did not make a mistake?

And hat is this ridiculous "you don't get beaten at your near post" thing? it depends on the shot\s power and the distance it was taken from.

dst had already mentioned the 2nd goal, then said 'what else'.
Well, if the players is close to the goal then fair enough, you may be beatable at your near post. I still think Pato was a little wide, he wasn't anywhere near close enough to his post, Pato got it in with some ease. I'm not taking anything away from the finish, it was a great goal. I'll just say, if that was Buffon or JC, that wouldn't have gone it.

No no I didn't mean you're trying to take anything away from the finish. I was just trying to defend St. Iker there. certainly his performance was that nightmarish...
