Argentina 2-1 Netherlands FT
Nigeria 2-0 Ivory Coast FT

So the semi-finals will be..

Nigeria - Belgium
Argentina - Brazil

The Nigeria result is really surprising... I hear Victor Obinna scored one... he plays in the Serie A... he plays for Chievo I believe...

Brazil 1-0 Belgium (Brazil were criticized for this result, but now people know why, after 10-man Belgium eliminated Italy)

Brazil 5-0 New Zealand

Brazil 3-0 China

Brazil 2-0 Cameroon

11 goals scored, 0 conceded. not bad! looks like Brazil are the team to beat in this tournament.

China and New Zealand were a joke, but against decent, organized and tactical teams like Belgium and Cameroon Brazil were really struggling.

Well they struggled less against the Belgium than the Azurri, and that mattered in the end. wink.gif Italy weren't any good against them in the last match.

That's not important. Brazil has the strongest squad (much better than Italy's), and the worrying thing that selecao didn't create much and were mediocre in the only two exams they had so far (also due Dunga's tactics). Let's see what happens against Argentina.

I disagree. that belongs to Argentina. Brazil has the strongest defense though.
dst
Brazil have just been lucky so far not to concede and they had the refs on their side against Nigeria and most heavily against Belgium.
Tennie
Nigeria just thumped Belgium, 4-1. It wasn't even close.
acid911
I've just got three words for you: ohmy.gif Absolute Wow! 4-1 is 4-1 no matter how you look at it. Hopefully Brazil will teach them a lesson or two.
Jack Sparrow
Absolute wow is two words. unsure.gif Or is ohmy.gif a word?
acid911
Um, sometimes I get mixed with numbers and such. blush.gif Nothing serious.
Jack Sparrow
^^

realmad.gif I got two words for you- FOCUS!!
Zed.D
No Pato in Brazil's lineup...
acid911
Not good. sad.gif Care for an explanation, Dunga?
Bluesummers
does anyone have any streams of brazil vs argentina please.
Mook
Bloody Dunga. mad.gif

Go Argentina! dry.gif

Will be interesting to see if Dinho will lift a gear or two in this game against the new Barca #10.

It'd be really really harsh if he didn't bring on Pato at some point during the game. hope Sobis chokes in this one biggrin.gif he can't always get +100 minutes to score a goal.
misha
Dunga is an a******. If they lose, Brazilian press will kill him.
Tennie
Might almost be worth cheering for the Argies, misha. smile.gif

Almost is the keyword here. smile.gif I'd rather be dead than cheer for Argentina when they're playing against Brazil. Against other teams, yes, maybe. But not against Team Samba. No, siree.
Tennie
Am following text play by play (at work, ugh). Sounds like it's - unsurprisingly - a bit on the scrappy side.
acid911
Admittedly, yes. smile.gif I'm watching it on a stream, and both the match and the stream itself are a bit scrappy. Brazil seems to be owning Argentina up till now, though. Sobis brought down the Argie box as I write this. Plus, did anyone notice Riquelme can be a real beatch sometimes?

Plus, I just caught a glimpse of the drugged one (Maradonna) looking quite happy in the stands. tongue.gif Fingers crossed, Kurt isn't watching.
acid911
HT 0-0.

Sobis did really great rolleyes.gif I can't see how Brazilians are going to score with nobody up front.
vahid
Who said Sobis is Better than Pato?!
I think Pato would come in half time
Ronnie is in good form but still needs to improve smile.gif
And Renan is great

Some random musings from the match: smile.gif

- Brazil vs Argentina is always special, no matter what the occasion.
- Ronaldinho seems to be getting his mojo back. As of today, at least half-way through.
- Lionel Messi isn't human.
- Someone who thinks otherwise isn't probably human either.
- Rafael Sobis isn't special, but he isn't also half as bad as some people think.
- Where on earth is Pato?
- Dunga is the world's largest douchebag. Ever.
- Fat Brazilians can't move.
- Apparently Brazil's defense can't either.
- Sustained Argentine attacks are dangerous. Always.
- Finger crossed Brazil wins and wins comfortably.

Why? what did he do?

(I too think he's not human. he's superhuman. amazing. tongue.gif )

Boring, boring and I might say it's boring... this is not football at the Beijing Olympics, this is an illegal cockfight at some Beijing warehouse... and with no blood!

Sobis... oh please Dunga... he knows how to deal with tight marking? Yeah he gives the ball away and gets rid of his marker... He can open up spaces? In his house by moving furniture maybe... the only thing Dunga got right is that Sobis does not go offside... and that's cause he doesn't make a single move...
I'm not saying Pato would have done any better but to blame him and say he's undeveloped compared to Sobis is just a lame excuse for Brazil's slow and uninspired displays...

And Ronaldinho... he does not run at all! I think even Seedorf can outrun him and I fear he will be another Rivaldo... I hope he proves me wrong...

Gago... wub.gif
acid911
In this match? He kept the ball glued to his feet and ran circles around 3-4 Brazilian defenders. cool.gif In other news, he's scored some goals that are out of this world. Getting tagged Braca number 10 at his age isn't the work of humans either.

In short: Amazing, amazing talent. smile.gif

Of course, running has its privileges, but Ronaldinho can do things standing others can't. smile.gif Making passes halfway across the stadium, being out of form, is um, good. Too bad, not many players received them and turned them into something worthwhile.

The only thing Rivaldo did in his time at Milan was win the CL. At the bare minimum, I'd like Ronaldinho to accomplish that. And then some more. I too hope he proves you wrong. And me. And everyone else. cool.gif We need him fit and firing for the next few years.

Ronaldinho did nothing essential in the first half.

Rivaldo's contribution to Milan was not at all significant. I'm expecting MUCH more from Ronaldinho...
