Wenger's post-match reaction:

On his team's performance...
"I have big respect for Milan, but my team deserves a lot of credit - having come here and beaten a team like them. We have given the performance we wanted. We played with organisation and never dropped off. We did not give them time and went forward every time we could. We played with authority, maturity, talent and intelligence.

"We have knocked out the holders. This team is very young, but we have won at Bernabeu and San Siro, so you need some quality to do that. On the day we were better than Milan, but maybe we play against them on Friday and it will be different."

On a growing belief within the camp...
"Sometimes as manager, you feel there is something in the team and you know that for them to get a step higher up they have to deliver in a big game like tonight. I hope this will strengthen the belief in the team.

"The players grow. I feel tonight they deserve a lot of credit, because our confidence level in the camp has dropped a bit. We have not been in the most positive environment recently, from the media. I like the fact the team finds the mental strength to play without restriction."

On Arsenal's mental strength...
"The players grow. I feel they deserve a lot of credit, because our confidence level in the camp has dropped a bit. We have not been in the most positive environment recently, from the media. But I like the fact the team finds the mental strength to play without restriction.

"Now we have to keep a good balance between belief and humility - that is a very important quality as well because it allows a team to be consistent."

On Arsenal's chances of winning the Champions League...
"The competition is very hard now. It is a cup competition, and you have to take it like that. We will go for it - we are in the quarter-final, so why should we not believe we can do it.

"The growing process of a team is a bit like a wave, it goes up suddenly, then down with a few bad results, then it goes up high again.

"This game was of huge significance for my team because in between they did not deliver a convincing result. "Subconsciously for the team, it was very important to see how good they are."

Lippi To Take Over At Milan?

Marcello Lippi could take over at Milan in time for next season, according to the Corriere dello Sport.

My god! blink.gif this can't be Lippi! this is Paul Newman!!

The Rossoneri’s painful exit from the Champions League last night to Arsenal has led to talk of an end of season revolution at the club.

This could start with Coach Carlo Ancelotti, who after seven wonderful years at San Siro, may have finally reached the end of his term in office.

The Corriere says that Lippi is being lined up as a replacement for Ancelotti, as Milan aim to build a new winning cycle.

Lippi has been out of the game since stepping down as coach of the Italy national team following their World Cup success in Germany in 2006.

Despite numerous offers to return to the bench, the Viareggio-born tactician has so far rejected all overtures.

However he has stated on numerous occasions that he will be returning to coaching in time for the start of next season.

Ancelotti meanwhile could find himself taking over at Barcelona, as current boss Frank Rijkaard is expected to move on to pastures new at the end of the campaign.

Nice post fresh_prince7 smile.gif

Galliani is hardly going to come out at this stage of the season and announce wholesale changes in the summer. We've still got a good few months worth of football ahead of us and obtaining 4th place is massively important for this club. Why would big name players want to arrive in the transfer window when we're fighting for the Uefa Cup next season?

On the whole, Galliani knows what he's doing. He lives and breathes the club, spends most of his working life with the players and I'm sure (and hope) he will do what's needed in the summer.

I hope Arsenal draws Liverpool, then they have to play them 3 straight games lol. Liverpool would win the CL legs on aggregate while Arsenal would win the league game. Also, if Arsenal draws Man Utd they play them in 3/4 games.

Their schedule in early april:

CL
Liverpool-H
CL
Man Utd-A
