Italy won today !!! What a goal by Pirlo !! The whole defense were waiting for Toni to go for it, but it just floated into goal, CLASS.
England won by 3, but they are 3rd of their group and TBH. it ain't looking good with the top two continuing to win.

People are really taking it way out of context-5 straight wins (All by 3-0 scorelines)
-3 superb performances in the last month.
-Only conceeded 2 goals in 10 games in qualifying (9 clean sheets).
We're 2nd in the group (qualifying position) and the results today have put us in great position, Israel are as good as out of it, and Russia are 5 points behind us!
Besides Germany, we're the only top nation in a decent position. Forget England, it's Portugal, Holland, Spain, Italy and France need to be worrying.

If he does there will be a riot, Barry has changed us it's the first time since 04 I've had real confidence in this team. I hope we can play some decent opposition with Barry in our team over the coming months just to see what we are like!

U know .. That is what I think, Barry is doing real well for England and for the first time in years !! England is starting to play as a team.
I think Lampard or Gerrard should play, NOT both. Oh and England NEED a Gkeeper if they have any hopes of making the quarter finals .. Other than that, you guys got a great defense, midfield and attack.
That Lampard - Gerrard combo is killing the team IMO.

Why should Holland worry? Yes they lost against Romania, but still, they are secure,..
Be sure that England eventually will conceed against Russia or Croatia. But they now have a much better position. I know the mentality of my team, they 'll back down once they know they are sure qualifiers,..

I think the final game England vs Croatia will mean pretty much nothing. We'll both be through by them and probably field a weakened team to avoid any injuries. I've got a feeling we'll meet again in the Finals.

The only teams I fear are Portugal (only because of penalties) and Germany, they're playing superb stuff at the moment. As long as we learn how to take penalties, we're fine.
On a side note, with Barry now in the squad, he's Villa's penalty takeer, scored 10 of his last 11. He solves ALL problems.

First of all, no he can't take all the penalties if the match ends up at the penalty shoot-out!

Hmh? You're sure? I mean, he played the CL final for Bayern against Valencia, but Hitzfeld still did not selected him to shoot even for the first 6 takers...?
Has anyone else noticed that Hargreaves is now affecting a bad English accent in interviews? It's awful! And I'm honestly not all that convinced of his world-class calibre. I think a lot of it is hype because he was the only decent player for England in the world cup.

No, he probably didn't take them for bayern, and if he was selected it's probably down to nerves more than anything.
But he and Ashley Cole are the best penalty takers we have by a long way, they're both superb penalty takers.

The game against Georgia was an average game, nothing spectacular .. Hopefully in a months time Donadoni will have a larger selection of players. I think Alex is an integral part of Italia and the midfield dynamo of Milan is a mean brick wall in the middle of the park ..

just look at the world cup, semis finals had only euro teams.

Well Turkey because of their WC 02 performance .. I fell in love with that team back then .. ooh I get it
It's because ur English And Scotland v Italia ... That is a game I wouldn't want to miss. Italia playing with Milan's midfield wall is a plus, since there his a lot of chemistry in there. I think Italia will see off Scotland, seeing as they lost to Georgia .. But then again, football is a 90min game, and the main reason I love this game.
Btw. Simic played for Croatia yesterday in a friendly against Slovakia as team captain,..
