Betis boost squad with Odonkor, Wagner and SobisMADRID (Reuters) - Real Betis strengthened their squad on Tuesday with Borussia Dortmund winger David Odonkor and Brazilians Jorge Wagner and Rafael Sobis from Libertadores Cup winners Internacional.
German international Odonkor, 22, signed a five-year deal for a fee of 6 million euros ($7.69 million), while 28-year-old midfielder Jorge Wagner was unveiled to the media after agreeing a four-year contract with the Andalucians.
Betis also announced that they had reached an agreement to sign the highly rated 21-year-old forward Sobis on an eight-year deal.
Sobis, recently called up for Brazil, was the inspiration for Internacional as they won the Libertadores Cup, South America's equivalent to the Champions League.
Betis president Pepe Leon told reporters that AC Milan's Swiss international midfielder Johann Vogel was likely to be the club's final reinforcement.
Vogel's arrival is likely to be dependent on the sale of Brazilian striker Ricardo Oliveira to the Serie A side.At the same time, Leon made it clear that the club had pulled out of a deal to sign Cruzeiro striker Alecsandro, who arrived in Seville last week with the intention of joining the Primera Liga side.
Betis have received a major injection of funds following the sale of Spain winger Joaquin to Valencia for 25 million euros.
