Milan’s Oliveira deal stalls

Ricardo Oliveira’s transfer to Milan is in doubt after Real Betis upped their demands for the Brazilian hitman.

The Spanish club’s President Manuel Luiz de Lopera is furious with the player, who flew to Milan on Friday without permission instead of attending negotiations with Zenit St Petersburg and Fenerbahce.

Betis have therefore raised the price from £10m to £12m and have handed the player a substantial fine.

Oliveira spent much of last season on loan at San Paolo while he recovered from a knee ligament injury.

The 2004-05 Liga top scorer took his medical examination at MilanLab on Saturday afternoon, but no further information has been released since then.

Apparently conversations are still underway in Spain and reports suggest that Milan midfielder Johann Vogel could be included in the deal.

The Rossoneri are still in need of a striker to replace Andriy Shevchenko upfront and have been forced to change their plans after they failed to bring Ronaldo to San Siro.

Milan’s summer market has not yet scored a top level signing, after missing out on Hernan Crespo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to rivals Inter.

Milan offered 16 millions + Vogel but they refused it. Gosh, who do they think Oliveira is... Henry? The two clubs are going to meet again this afternoon and if Betis won't accept the offer Milan might sign Iaquinta.

I don't think it is, we have no other options what so ever.

Again, WHY THE HELL DID THEY SCREW UP THIS OLIVEIRA TRANSFER??????!!!!!!

And why did they lose interest in Oddo? Do they really think that Cafu will be able to keep going for an entire season? I mean Milanlab is good but not THAT good, he is 36 years old for christ's sake.

I think by tomorrow we'll hear that Oliveira was transfered to some sh!tty team like Fanerbache because we couldn't agree on the transfer money, and that the only difference between what they were asking for and what we were willing to pay is less then £2m!!!!!! This is getting totally ridiculous. We are going to start the season with this front line Gila, Pippo, Amoroso and Boriello, and Cafu's sub is Brocchi, who is pure sh!t in that position because that's not where he is used to playing.

Now that I think of it this is not my dream defense but it's pretty solid don't you think;

Brocchi--Nesta-Bonera--Janku

with subs

Cafu--Maldini-Costacurta/Kaladze--Serginho/'ffanculli

still ... how the f@ck are we going to score!!??? please Silvio ... do us a favour let play the Xtree!!!! pleeeaaseee!!!!! and next year you can have all your Gauchos and Ribos you want .... pleeeaaaseee!!!!!!!! smile.gif

I'd still prefer to ask Silvio to pay a little bit more money to buy a stiker. But if he doesn't then he has to play the Xtree, with only Gila on front

No Brocchi is terrible in the RB position, Cafu' imo oppinion still has it and has started the season in great form, but I'm sure that by mid season he will start to die down. And you know I like Bonera, in fact I said that he really impressed me when he played, but Kaladze was good last season you can't deny that, I know you don't like him dst, but if not Maldini I would trust him mor then Bonera for now.

If we are going to use Brocchi and Janku together we simply won't have any push from that fullback position. Janku is more defensive and Brocchi is terrible at pushing up and crossing.

If our defense stays the way it is without any signings then our best option would be, that in the first half of the season we play with Cafu on the right and Janku on the left, that way most of our attacks will come from the right and the left would be our more solid side. Then in the second half of the season we switch, Brocchi will play on the right and Serginho will play on the left, this way we change tactics a bit, our right side will be the solid area and our left side is more focused on the attack. If we play this way we always have the right ballance not too attacking but not too defensive

Yes forgot about him, still I would use Bonera when we have Serginho playing on the left not Janku, because he is another that doesn't push up, in fact he always stays down, and that's because he is more of a CB then a RB.

I thought Bonera is Center Back, rather then a RB, or not unsure.gif

Yes he is a CB but can play as a RB, but he doesn't attack much if any. As I said before the only way to use Bonera as a RB is if we play Serginho at LB. That way our left side will be constantly pushing up and attacking but our right side will be always solid, that way Nesta and Kaladze or whoever is playing with nesta won't have to worry about both sides of defense being left open.

If we stay this way for next season our best option would be:

First half of the season -> Cafu'--Nesta--Kaladze/Maldini--Janku
Second half of the season -> Bonera--Nesta--Kaladze/Maldini--Serginho

Cafu and Serginho will be way to attack minded and Bonera and Janku will be way too defensive and I think the above defensive formations I made are the ones that have the right balance

Silvio just needs to get off Ronaldinho dream land, he knows that it won't happen anytime soon.

And I agree Brocchi is terrible as a RB we shouldn't even consider it

What next: Ambrosini as CB? But seeing the circumstances, I wouldn't exclude it... in any emergency case. rolleyes.gif

no Brocchi is not terrible at RB. He's great defense-wise!!!! We can't afford to have Cafu in. He simply can't play a full ninety minutes not even in the beginning of the season and that leaves us with just two subsitutions cause we'll always have to sub the good ol' brazilian!!!! That is true. whether you like it or not!! HE CAN'T PLAY A FULL NINETY!!!!
still ... it's terrible we only have Brocchi for that position ... sad.gif

now I suggested we use both Janku and Brocchi in case we play the Xtree cause with that formation full backs don't need to come up and the constancy of our 4 back would give Pirlo a little bit more freedom!!!

But since I can't see us playing the Xtree what you suggested above should be done!!

we're just desperate housewives ... sad.gif

Come on I think you're underestimateing Cafu there, yes he can play a full 90 minutes, but for the whole season? Definately not. And yes if we play the xmas tree then we don't need our fullbacks to help out in attack, but since we all know that that won't happen we can forget about it. Brocchi just isn't good, I would prefer it if we had Bonera playing as RB, even if he doesn't push up he is better defensively and if Serg plays on the left we don't need our right side to have any duties in attack.

no he can't. He just walks after the 70th minute ... you'll see ... I give him three matches!!!

You have your self a bet there. Man I'm getting in a lot of bets lately, I have one on stan-by with Portugal, but he will only get in on it when he sees the serie A calender.
Fillipo Simone
I don`t think Carlo will put Brocchi as RB. Rather he will play it with Bonera, Cafu,...And also we have Simic here, allright he made some mistakes and sure is not a starting player, but he exists!! Why is everyone teeling we have no RB, we have Cafu, Simic and Costacurta, plus Bonera and Brocchi,...I`m not insane, but under does circumstances, I think the mentioned players can take all together one season. Cafu can be a starter, but not with Maldini and Serginho, cause then we`ll have to make 3 def. subs!! The situation is not delightfull of course, but we cannot allways be perfect. It`s just one season...Oh, and Favalli, didn`t he played also a RB far in the past?

Oliveira was ok from the games I watched a couple of years ago but he's not even close to Shevchenko, both names should not be mentioned in the same sentence, sadly he is an upgrade over most of our strikers, milan's situation up front is just pitiful.

Milan’s striker search continues
Tuesday 29 August, 2006

Milan are looking for an alternative to Ricardo Oliveira should they fail to agree a fee with Betis before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

The negotiation for Oliveira stalled after Betis upped their demands for the hitman, although a £10m agreement may be close if the Rossoneri include midfielder Johann Vogel.

The Rossoneri have allegedly already bid £21m for Didier Drogba of Chelsea and reports in Spain suggest they have also offered £17.8 for Real Madrid striker Robinho.

Drogba had already been eyed by Milan in the past and the Ivorian striker allegedly met with Vice-President Adriano Galliani on Monday to finalise details.

Chelsea chief Roman Abramovich could indeed let the player go if the Rossoneri’s offer were to be confirmed.

Furthermore, Spanish newspaper AS suggested that the Via Turati club was ready to make an offer for Robinho, although Real Madrid have given no clue that they intend to sell the 22-year-old Brazilian.

Milan have not yet ruled out the idea of bringing Ronaldo back to San Siro, despite talks with the Merengues collapsing last week.

The Fenomeno has confirmed that both Milan sides have eyed him, although he told Real Madrid’s official website on Tuesday that he wanted to stay at Real for years to come.

Milan also still need to score a top level signing to please their supporters after missing out on Hernan Crespo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to rivals Inter.
