ContraCampo is reporting that Billy had a meeting with the GM of Renault in London. The meeting was a job offer to coach Queens Park Rangers ( a club which the British Royals have a close link with, whatever that means).
Which division do Queens Park Ranger play in anyways

QPR play in the Championship in England. They're currently third from bottom (22nd place).

Have you seen him on Milan's bench!?? Did he refuse to take the job or anything? Maybe he considers the proposal from QPR... Have you read anything on the Italian section of the official site, Tennie, Porty?
I still want the testimonial game!!!!!!!!!

Lovely clip. The ovations at that last match (the one the clip shows him waving to the crowd and getting tossed into the air) were amazing. I'm so glad I was there.

I think I know why. There's a problem in the Costacurta household, as Gazzetta has revealed in an article today. (I only translated part of it. Please note that it's a quick translation and doesn't really convey the very humorous tone of the original).
linkMY SON IS AN INTERISTA [Paragraph about Martina Colombari guest starring in a popular Italian tv show.]
“The problem,†Colombari says, “is at home. My husband is a Milanista and our son has become an Interista.†Who would have thought it? The mythical Billy, symbol of Milan, collaborating with coach Carlo Ancelotti, ‘betrayed’ by little Achille? Martina makes an admission, laughing: “It all started last year with the celebration of Inter’s scudetto: Achille saw it on tv and now all he wants is nerazzuro. Believe it or not, in his bathroom is the Inter scudetto. His father?†Martina adds, joking, He’d take it. But now he’s resigned.†Achille is small, he’s still got time to change his mind.
When you like a club from a young age, you often become attached. It’s often dictated from family reasons or because there’s a champion that appeals to you. The fact is that the sons of footballers generally follow the teams of their fathers (could you imagine Paolo Maldini’s sons being interistas?). But Achille has decided to the contrary. We’ll see what sort of response there is when Billy’s asked if Achille's preference is: 1. because he wasn’t interested in Milan’s celebrations of the CL?; 2. because the tv wasn’t turned off when Inter’s celebrations were on; 3. because he prefers Materazzi to Maldini; and one last unavoidable question: where have I gone wrong?

This is somewhat speculative, but Milannews is reporting that Billy's close to finishing the coursework for his UEFA Pro coaching license and that he's already under consideration for the head coaching job at some interesting places: QPR, Paris St. Germain, and (ack!) the Huns. They go on to say that such a job would be a suitable apprenticeship before he comes back to take the head coaching job at Milan.

Love the guy ! If there was any great defender, then there is Billy. If you had the chance to see the Vialli incident, that speaks of what a player Billy was.
I hate it when I see great players getting old, and not being able to watch them play again.

I just saw that. Benfica /are/ looking for a new coach for next year, as the team has been an absolute mess this year and Camacho resigned partway through the season. It'd be a rebuilding thing there, but Billy'd have an old friend in Lisbon: Rui Costa is retiring at the end of this season and it's pretty much a given that he'll become a club director of some sort for Benfica.

May 7 2008, 01:20 PM
He'd also have another old friend at Monaco ... Marco Simone

Billy has a lot of friends
I don't see Billy as a coach. I think he'd be a much better sporting director or something like that. Maybe a scouter. Then again, coaching is what he seems to prefer so I hope he proves me wrong!

Not sure if this has been mentioned in other places, but Marca has reported (and it's been repeated by newspapers/websites in Italy) that Getafe have offered Billy the head coaching job.
The Getafe owner apparently asked Arrigo Sacchi about Billy and got a glowing recommendation.
According to the story, Billy's thinking about it for a few days as his wife is not sure she wants to leave Italy.

I'd love it if he went to Getafe. There are nonstop flights between DC and Madrid and that's usually the route I take to get to Italy so it wouldn't be hard to stop off and catch a Getafe game on the way to Milan.

Way more.

Then again, Costacurta was primarily a defender so that has to count somewhere. But I'd want a moderate coach, someone who balances all aspects of the game. He'd be close to a perfect coach, in my opinion.
