Is Conte allowed to be with his team at half time? anyone knows?
Forza Milan!

Perhaps undeserved after seeing the replay but I'll take it

Robinho!!!

Got lucky too, as Buffon almost stopped it. I will take anything at this point, particularly against Juve :-)

QUOTE (Danny @ Nov 25 2012, 04:21 PM) *
Sorry, but this really is ridiculous. How can you call a team whose best player is SES the 3rd best in Serie A? Have you noticed the quality of Fiorentina and Napoli? We don't have a player half as good as Hamsik or Cavani.

The continued delusion about how good our team is is actually starting to grind.

Yes, the manager's a shambles. Yes, the tactics are all over the place.

But the squad is dire! Look at the defence! Mexes is our best defender and he's just 'good'. No more. Best midfielder is Monto - good good player but I'd take Hamsik any day. SES has bailed us out but choosing between him and Cavani is no contest.

For a Milan team normally endowed with Maldinis, Nestas, Ibras, Silvas, Pirlos, Shevas, Kakas - now look at us.

Top 3? Not a chance. A great coach could get this side into top 6.

Actually, I am being realistic. The fact that Fiorentina outplayed us is because they have a better coach, one that is getting the best out of his squad. Fiorentina is playing a fluid and dynamic game, and fully deserves to be top 4 this year. However, based on the quality of the players, we should be a better team. As we should be better than Samp, Atalanta, Udinese, Parma, etc. Arguably Napoli and Malaga as well. And we are probably not that far off from Inter. The big difference, once again, is coaching.

Just to pick one of your examples, top scorers in Serie A this year are:

10 - El Shaarawy S. (Milan),
8 - Cavani E. (Napoli), Di Natale A. (Udinese), Lamela E. (Roma)

(And ElSha is barely 20!!!)

Yes, the team is not as good as last year, and far below what we have been used to. (No disagreement there.)

LOL That was exactly what I was thinking

Great stuff De Sciglio!
Jack Bauer
DS is owning Asamoah.
Zed.D
Ah if El Sha was one epsilon faster...

Ref giving Vidal a BIG get out of jail free card
Zed.D
LOL... Juve players can't get past DS
Zed.D
We must not allow them to come at us.. FFS attack them
han2503
Time to take Robinho off

He's lost all his steam
Zed.D
Wow... this is the first time I see Juve so lost this season.

Yep, having a great game!

Allegri though needs to make those subs. The players are getting tired and the bad passing is creaping into our game

The problem is we're letting them back in.

The players seems to have used all their energy

Definitely time for a sub or two

Not Pazzini though! **** he's not active enough. We need high pressure.
han2503
PAZZINI????!!!

WHY FFS???
Zed.D
Pazzini?!! *facepalm*
han2503
So close Nocerino!

Nice run. Maybe should have passed looking back
Zed.D
That wasn't so close... he should've passed it.

Pazzini hasn't been bad so far. doing Robinho's duties better than Robinho himself!
han2503
Damn!!

Mexes had to come off. Big loss
milanbuf88
Zapata in for Mexes

Did he get injured?

It's probably his knee which he injured on Wednesday
Zed.D
My heart is about to stop FFS. we should've done better to score another goal.
Rossoneri7
Seems like its a fine day so far. 3points off of Juve is not an avg feat. Regardless if Juve was not on form, or the match was setup all together (makes so much sense like that tongue.gif) .. In all honesty i did not watch the game, all based on MF commentry. Loving it!

Constant king.gif

Milan will win, easily.

I'm awesome cool.gif
Zed.D
Should we be happy? this could've ended 3-0 or something. this was pre-Conte era Juve all over again. only in the last 20 minutes they started to bother us. we could've done much, much better. but I'll take it biggrin.gif
kurtsimonw
That was surprisingly comfortable. Only time I had any bit of worry was Giovinco's overhead effort.

Loving Costant today. Yepes is a clown though.

Why? Because he got the soar losers all riled up? biggrin.gif

I thought that bit was the best part of his game

Congrats people!!

Unfortunately for han, Allegri is staying because he just beat Juventus who a couple of weeks ago beat the Champs of Europe..tongue.gif

3 points, a morale boost and a HUGE welldone to the lads for running 94mins. Though I didnt watch it, i followed the commentry here. But these boys deserve this win and I hope they will start to feel like a team after this. Whereby they fight together! Forza Milan!!
milanbuf88
HUGE three points there. I thought everyone played very well. In particular De Sciglio played his best game to date, Montolivo played like a true Captain, and De Jong was everywhere closing down making stops. SOO great to see us beat Juventus. Maybe we slowed down their march to the scudetto.

First half felt a lot better than the second half. But a win is a win, a win against Juve is even better.

As for Allegri, we are probably stuck with him for the season, at this point.

First away loss for them since May 2011.

Good, good match. And finally. First real Milan match in months. Important win, but let's not jump just yet.

kudos to Capt'n Jack who knew this all along; seems like vodka those help from time to time.

And undefeated Juve would've been much harder to beat IMO. I'm happy Inter beat them before this game. made it easier for us.

Such an important win. I'm certain this will boost team morale and hopefully the players will feel more comfortable with themselves and their teammates. First half was great, second one was bad though. Juve increased their pressing and we looked lost and powerless. That said, we fought teeth and nails and defended like a unit. And the fact that we won with a non-penalty makes it even better. biggrin.gif

FORZA MILAN!!!
Danny
What a match. What a performance. What a result. I can honestly say I'm stunned.

Instead of a ranty paragraph, my points of note:

1: Constant, despite not being an LB, is getting better and better every match. He was absolutely wonderful tonight - Allegri seems to have seen something I did not and deserves full credit for finding a player with the potential to be our best LB since Janku.

2: Monto was a colossus. If he plays like that all the time I'd completely retract my Hamsik remark. His passing, vision, workrate and sheer tenacity were superb - he ran the show in the middle.

3: Our defence was absolutely supreme - I'm sure someone will discredit it in some way but tonight, for me, every defender was remarkable. It was beautifully organised, prepared to get dirty, and worked harder than anything.

4: Boateng, while not shining as brightly as he once did, actually played better tonight than he has this season. He wasn't perfect but I saw signs of progress and his desire was way higher than it has been previously.

5: Robinho could only have lasted the first hour but showed just why I've been praising him recently. Penalty wasn't great but who cares - his runs, work ethic and teamplay were top notch. And he's still coming back.

6: Juve were terrible - half down to not showing up, half down to us stopping them.

7: Tonight's Pirlo was the latter stages Milan Pirlo - and it was a joy to behold. We gave him quite a lot of space but he rarely did anything of note.

8: Who knew Pazzini could play the holding striker role? Some of his take downs, touches, and holding up play were absolutely stunning - there's more to Pazzi than just trying to score goals.

9: Quite simply our tactics, coupled with the team at its very best, worked. Consistency is the key - if that team put that level of work and organisation in every match then we would indeed be fighting for the league. Problem is we don't have consistency yet - nowhere near it.

10: I do back down slightly from my comment about us not being a top Serie A side - on that performance, we are. But it needs to sustain. How far are we from that? Who knows. The next match is crucial but this result tonight COULD kick start our season.
X-Offender
De Sciglio was Sky's MOM. I gotta say, his going forward tonight wasn't excellent, but his defending was top notch. Completely shut Asamoah down, and that's not something easy to do.
Fillipo Simone
And I think from now on we should play Yepes-Mexes. Clearly they're not perfect, and maybe Zapata is even better then Mario, but this duo has now the needed cohesion and confidence. Let's not start playing with the defensive pairing unless it isn't necessary.
