^ You're joking, right? That's a matter of centimeters. If you wanna be that anal, then there's no point in debating.

The point being is that it's debatable. I didn't think it was onside when I first saw it simply because Matri's head is slightly ahead of the rest of the line.

Unlike our goal where there shouldn't even be a debate about it and whether it's just as equal to Juve's goal
X-Offender
I think there's no debate about it. In these circumstances, when it's only a matter of centimeters, the linesman should always let the game proceed.

Juventus can you stop stealing ? 'cos my friends in school call me a thief .

Inter? I wouldn't bet on it. personally I'd go with Napoli (they haven't played Juve yet, right?)

I don't know man, stuff happens, okay? unsure.gif innocent.gif I remember the weak Juventus from a couple of years back, handing it out to a very strong inter, even though no one expected them to. Napoli is another strong contender to land the killer blow, but I still wouldn't count the guys in blue and black out. They take it very personally!

Agreed.

Derbies are different kinda games!

See Roma inter & as acid said Juve inter a couple years ago.

We can still win this scudetto, as long as we play exceptionally well, because we all know Juve is NOT going to win all their remaining games!

Wasn't it Ibra who was called offside not so long ago because his head was over the line? It's not about being anal it's about the laws of the game. If Matri was even 1cm over the line then he is offside and the decision is correct, while ours is clearly the wrong decision.

UEFA explicitly says that in case of doubt, the linesman should let the game proceed. When Matri was 10-15 cm offside, and the linesman clearly could not see such minimal difference, then he shouldn't have stopped the game. Look, the last thing I wanna do is defend those cheating bastards, but we have to be objective and admit it was a regular goal.

Yeah it should never have been disallowed. I think the linesman probably saw video of the mistake he made in the first half and that played in the back of his mind when Matri went through.

Exactly.
William405
The goal was coming either way,did that goal mean that Juve could have won against us?They scored 5 minutes after,and still didn't manage to create any opportunities.All I'm saying that those refereeing mistakes create all those "what if" situations which can be misleading.If,we were up 2-0,game was gonna be a lot different,Juve might have scored 3,or not.We don't know.And,if Matri scored that goal,it could have ended 1-1 anyway.
kurtsimonw
We were lucky Conte made some awful selections. Matri and Vucinic on the bench with Quags and Borriello starting?

QUOTE
All errors are not equal

Antonio Conte claims the two refereeing errors were equal, but Susy Campanale points out there’s a big difference.

So the Scudetto showdown was all square at San Siro, a point each and the title race remains in the balance. Such a shame a really entertaining game of football was overshadowed by refereeing mistakes. Even worse, the controversy dragged on after the final whistle with Antonio Conte’s refusal to understand a simple fact: the two errors were not equal.

Conte went on Sky Sport Italia after the match and engaged in a row with pundit and former Milan star Zvonimir Boban. “I find it unacceptable that you can compare the two and say one error was more damaging than the other. Both goals were incorrectly disallowed and are therefore equal. What, was our goal not worth as much? I see no difference whatsoever. They were both mistakes.”

Not all errors are equal, Antonio. When the entire stadium, viewing audience and even the referee – who started walking towards the centre circle until he spotted his linesman standing still – saw the ball cross the line by an arm’s length, then it is a massive, horrific, embarrassing mistake. It’s the kind of howler that forces people to demand video evidence in match situations and complain that Sepp Blatter is holding the sport back by resisting technology.

When Alessandro Matri is in line with the group of Milan players rushing in one direction as he moves in the other, then it’s a mistake, but one that happens often and is understandable. It seems to be only Juventus who go on every media outlet to complain loudly that something like this, or the other not exactly stonewall penalties they didn’t receive in their favour over recent weeks, is a sign of officials purposefully damaging the club.

Conte and his whinging Juve cohorts thought they were protecting the side by protesting at refereeing errors. Instead, they set the scene whereby such a massive mistake in their favour allows cynics to say it was because the linesman was affected by the constant atmosphere of moaning. ‘Of course Juventus were going to get the decision in their favour after all the fuss they kicked up,’ people will shout.

That’s not even mentioning the fact Milan would’ve gone 2-0 up in the first half when they were dominating the game, whereas Matri did equalise just moments after his goal was disallowed.

I’m afraid the reaction to these two incidents has really not helped Conte’s cause. If he can’t even admit the errors are nowhere near on the same scale, then how can he win back the respect of those cynics? Even the most ardent Juventus fan must admit those two incidents did not have an equal effect on the game, nor were they on a par in any other way.

She's right imo. You should have seen Conte throwing a hissy fit when Boban told him the exact same thing.

Juve are nothing but low class cheating scum. And it's sad to see their underhanded tactics working for them after what happened in the past in Serie A.

As for the comments. The only people not agreeing are the Juve fans themselves because most nuetrals are as disgusted by what happened as the rest of us

Because they consider it be more than a coincidence of all too frequent events which change the outcome of games happening in their favor. Coupled with the fact that they are always complaining about referring mistakes; these sort of things are believed to have an influence on a referee's calls made during a game.

This.

1) Marotta's complaints after Juventus-Siena;
2) Conte's complaints after Parma-Juventus;
3) Agnelli's reply to Abete;
4) Chiellini's behavior after Milan-Juventus of Coppa Italia.

It was a premeditated strategy with the intention of influencing the referees' calls in their favor, as it perfectly happened two nights ago. That's why sometimes it's better to just keep your mouth shut. dry.gif

By the way, I read on Gazzetta that the linesman Romagnoli risks to be banned for life from refereeing after his mistake.

Arguing for Ibra was one thing (though I agree with the punishement, he was unprovoked), these 2 don't really have a defense. Muntari was getting frustrated and lashed out unnecessarily. Mexes was just stupid and I have no idea what he was thinking.

I can understand Muntari. Lichtsteiner is a dirty player, and he was constantly bugging him, as the picture posted by Trini proves. Mexes though did something very stupid and should be fined by the club. I'm tired of our players getting banned because they can't control themselves. mad.gif

MILAN - Photos are circulating online at the moment showing Milan players being too pysical to the Bianocneri last night at the San Siro stadium. They dont' show the full story:

Elbowed twice, the second worse than the first : Andrea Pirlo elbowed Van Bommel twice in the second half of last night’s game:Firstly on 22.56 and secondly on 31.54.

Like I said before, that decision was correct as it was offside.

Come on, it's a matter of centimeters and milliseconds. if anything I think the linesman should've let the game proceed. he was trying to make up for the stupid mistake he'd made against us!
d'Arc.LP
Matri's millimetric offside correctly whistled.

That photo has not been taken at the exact moment the pass was made, if you want to be that precise. but looking at it roughly from the linesman's point of view, I can see why he raised his flag.

From that video that x-off posted, it looks like Lichtsteiner was grabbing Muntari by the neck. It was the usual scuffle in the box, no wonder Muntari got so frustrated though.

Yeah, the linesman who didn't see Muntari's 0.5 meters inside goal was able to correctly evaluate a millimetric offside position of Matri. Come on! As Zed mentioned, he was simply trying to cover up for his earlier mistake against us.

I really don't get the Borriello bashing. Don't you think he's kind of unlucky? Milan shipped him off year by year, then he made the breakthrough and Genoa offered him a stay but Milan wanted him back. Then, after a solid season with us he went from top to flop and was pushed towards Roma. Again, he started solid, but went out of favor with Montella and Enrique. What was he going to do? Rot on Roma's bench watching Bojan, Borini and the rest of Romas attack?

He was the one who wanted out after we signed Ibra and Robinho, because he didn't consider himself bench material for a club like Milan. Well, guess what, ever since he's regularly been benched at both Roma and Juventus. Talk about lack of character...

William405
Honestly,if incidents in the matches are reviewed,and given a ban for.Then,logically,why can't we given a goal?You might argue that a goal changes the course of a whole game,but doesn't a red card cause that as well,for example in the case of Mexes.

...3 match ban,probably deserved.We should have a code of ethics just like Prandelli does,and look at how Luis Enrique left out De rossi for being late to a meeting,we're far behind when it comes to applying a code of ethics.
