It went under his arm, just a few inches more and he could have saved it.

But then again, Abbiati is not the AAA world class keeper who saves points on his own (there are just a handful of such keepers anyway), so thinking on his level, he did okay I guess. The other keepers we have in the hut aren't any better, either.
Anything other, then I would have understood, and 7 would have been fair enough. For a shot after a free kick, he just needed a bit better reflexes to cover and stop it. My opinion, of course.

I didnt get a chance to watch the match, but I definitely can say that we deserve 3 points based on some comments here. The first half we dominated, yet conceded. Had there been better concentration and 100% dedication from all the lads, we would have left HT with at least a one goal advantage. The second half, yellow cards coupled with a Cassano lifeline was all we could manage; despite us being a more technically gifted side. Ibra's red card, how ironic ?

Let me correct you. First half was horrible. We only had one shot on goal from a free kick. Second half was much better. We completely dominated Bari in their own half and should have won, even though we didn't create THAT many blatant scoring opportunities.

Mar 13 2011, 05:15 PM
This game is soooo disappointing. As usual Allegri was clueless and is getting massively overrated for his damage control which should have been implemented at the onset...i.e. use Cassano to increase supply to the forwards and rest that excuse for a player who no matter how many times he puts on red and black always shows his TRUE colours. Deliberately punching a player in the back.....yeah definitely proud to call him one of us

. The flip side is that we'll be without him for the derby (aka a "big match")....oh wait whether we played of not he'd go missing regardless
I am also disappointed in Pato. iBra might be a douche but I think that he generally does the right thing in the right situation. Pato, in his effort to prove to N00blegri that he is the superior CF DOES NOT PASS TO iBra AT ALL. This might be all well and good when he's having a great game and walking on water but as today has clearly shown it has vast potential to HURT Milan.
People are being waaaay too harsh on Robinho and his finishing skills. There is much more than goals that we have LACKED that Robinho brings to Milan. That said, yes he was poor. The goal was blamed by many on Van Bommel...but there is a deeper issue here. To date, Milan has NEVER won a single goal where we trailed....MUCH of the blame for that whether you like it or not falls on Allegri's shoulders. If Leonardo could get this done with a fraction of the quality we have today then Allegri has no excuse.

The Rossoneri drew with Bari, missing the chance to extend their lead over Inter to 7 points. Coach Allegri’s team dominated the whole second half and as a result equalised with Cassano in the 82nd minute, but couldn’t find the winner. There’s an air of disappointment in the Milan dressing room, but the Rossoneri still have a 5-point advantage ahead of the chasing pack and the players are already thinking of the next challenge against Palermo.
MILAN - Here is what Luca Antonini had to say after today’s Milan-Bari encounter at the San Siro:
MASSIMILIANO ALLEGRI:
“We made a mistake on that play, it was a lack of attention. But I think that, taking into consideration the second half performance of the team, we would have deserved to win. It wasn’t a lucky week for us, especially if one considers how we played in London and today. Now we have a 5-point advantage. Had we had won today, we would have increased the lead, but in any case the race for the title wouldn’t be over. I think the derby will be decisive.
Emanuelson did very well. He was in contention for a berth in the starting line-up, but in the end Merkel got the nod. After coming off the bench, Emanuelson played well.
I’m disappointed about the fact that we’ll have to do without Ibra against Palermo, also because he did a great job in the second half. In any case, we’ll find a solution up front for the trip to the Barbera Stadium.
This is a delicate moment of the season, regardless of today’s result. By the way, we have two more points than in the first half of the season at same stage. The fifth win in a row is cursed for me. It’s been three years now that I manage to put together four consecutive victories, but the fifth never arrives. This made me worried about today’s game.
Anyway, the team is in good shape, the lads did well and we must keep believing in ourselves, because we’re still first”.
LUCA ANTONINI:
“We believed in a comeback, but in the end we had to accept the draw. After all, this is an important point, it wasn’t easy seeing how the game went. But at the same time, it’s a shame about the points lost, it was a good opportunity to break away from Inter.
Emanuelson is a good player, he always gets free to take passes and he crosses well. With him on the field after the break I had more help in defence and as a result I felt free to join the attack. We used the flanks well in the second half and managed to create a lot of chances.
Today’s result leaves us pretty disappointed seeing that a win would have seen us extend our lead at top of the table. Now it’s up to us to preserve and possibly increase our advantage. Today we failed to. Now a difficult trip to Palermo awaits us, but it’s obvious that we have to win all the remaining games if we want the title”.
URBY EMANUELSON:
“I think I did well, but the game didn’t go as we’d hoped. We could have increased our lead ahead of Inter to 7 points, but today we wasted too many chances. Anyway, we’re still up by 5 points. We’re travelling to Palermo next week. We’ll need to be smart and play well in order to earn some important points”.
IGNAZIO ABATE:
“We wasted a big opportunity. A positive note from the game was that the team responded after going down to ten. It’s an important thing, because we could have even lost considering how the game was going. Now we have to look ahead to our next match at Palermo, the first of two difficult games awaiting us before the international break. Hopefully, we’ll do well in Sicily to then play the derby with a 5-point advantage.
There’s disappointment in the dressing room, because we could have increased the lead ahead of Inter, but anyway, a victory wouldn’t have meant the end of the championship. So in the end nothing has changed regarding the standings, but there’s one game less left”.

Allegri has many flaws, but his obsession of playing 2-3 DMs at the same time is killing our game. I'm not talking about today, but in general. He's the anti-football, in my opinion. He prefers a rough and muscular game, relying on long balls and 2-3 key players in order to win. This is not Milan. We cannot play Gattuso, Flamini and Van Bommel/Ambrosini at the same time. The lack of quality is abysmal, and it affects the way we play, which is a horrible football for the casual viewer.
Another defect of him I'd like to mention is his misinterpretation of the roles in midfield. He plays DMs as box-to-box midfielders (Gattuso, Flamini), box-to-box midfielders as trequartista's (Boateng) and trequartista's as box-to-box midfielders (Merkel). Our whole midfield is a huge clusterfuck!
When Pirlo gets back, I want to see him play alongside Boateng and Flamini/Gattuso in midfield. That's the ideal solution any sane manager would opt for.

Carlo played Gattuso and Ambrosini, but also Pirlo, Seedorf and Kaka' alongside them. We didn't lack quality. We simply couldn't play with a 4-3-2-1 line-up anymore. Allegri, on the other hand, exaggerates such notion to the extreme. He plays certain players out of position, and he fields a horrendous midfield each and every time. At least with Leo we saw glimpses of spectacular football. When have we seen a pleasant football under Allegri? I don't like this Milan. I don't like this Milan at all.

I agree.
But it depends what you want in the end. With Carlo was played alot of boring football and didn't seem to care about the league, under Leo we played good football but weren't good enough. Now if we play boring football and win the league, I'll take it.

If Leo had the same squad Allegri has, it'd have been another history. He's not afraid of playing an offensive team, like the coach of AC Milan should rightfully do. Allegri has a small-club mentality. His way of interpreting football makes me sick to the stomach.
