Congratulations to Pippo for reaching a great milestone. and to young Pato, who's growing in confidence each game.
He has surpassed the expectations, with 10 games to go, and the current form he's in, 20 goals in a season is not impossible.

milannews even saying season over for abbaiti

According to milannews and calciomercato yes,Abbiati is out for the rest of season.
MizNelson
What an odd match. How can a young, beefy player like Abbiati get knocked out by 58-year-old Favalli?? Also, someone needs to make a Pippo signature based on the movie "300."

I've been laid up all weekend with a cold. It's my third one in under a year. Jesus. dry.gif

Let's all pray for a Inter-Viola draw!

Why?you still have scudetto hopes?

Oh wait, with scoring 51 goals we have scored more than any teams in serie A.
I think it's the first time during Carletto's coaching time.

I think a lot of milanfans will prefer juve winning the scudetto instead of merda. Painfull to watch , but not as painfull as watching merda levelling with us on winning league titles. And how they won it would make it even more sad ...

STILL have Scudetto hopes? not at all. I just think it'd be nice if Juve won the Scudetto AND Genoa finished 4th, ahead of Fiorentina and Roma. that's why I'm hoping for a draw between Fiorentina and Inter.

As much as I criticize carlo I have to give him credit on two things - 1. He looks like he's finally realised that we are better playing with two forwards, although why it has taken him this long I really don't know!

I promise you, there's only one reason we've been playing with 2 strikers recently, and that's Kaka and Seedorf's injuries. I don't think Carlo has changed his approach at all.

However, if Carlo proves that he's finally changed and even when Seedorf Kaka and Dinho are all healthy and roaring to go, we still play 4-3-1-2, I will change my opinion and support him forever and ever no matter what. ie I will become a Fillipo, Jack, etc. wink.gif

How do they already know how serious Abbiati's injury is? I don't believe it until it's officially announced.

No we used to score a lot when we fielded a team that was running instead of walking. In 05/06 we were even second in Europe, one goal behind Barca in goals scored with 112 (in all competitions) I think?

I agree but I don't think Ancelotti is so stupid to leave either Pato or Pippo out considering the form they are on. Of course Seedorf will be back as soon as he's available and someone else will be dropped.

Looks like when Seedorf doesn't play, his name is mentioned more than when he plays. I mean, he makes more impact on Milan by not playing and that's sad for a talented player like him.

Great result. However, crisis is far from over.

Dida 4.5- Should have saved the goal. Really wasn't called up on other than the goal. Hopefully he gets back to his best.

zambrotta 6- Average game for zambrotta. Offensively very poor but solid defensively.

Maldini 8- Holy ****. I am at the point where words cannot express how godly this man is. He cannot be critizied, I dont care what the situation is. For a 41 year old to play like that; words cannot even express how thankful I am he wasn't one of the players injured this season. I wish he would reconsider retirement. The way hes performing he is one of the top 10 defenders in Serie A this season. Maldini 4 lyfe! king.gif

Favalli 7- Very good game for favalli. Shaky at times but solid on most occasions. Full credit deserved.

Janku 6- Like zambrotta. Shines in midfield, flops in defence. Sums up his playing style in the last 2 games.

Flamini 8- Monster, animal, mad man flamini, flattuso. Great great performance by him.

Pirlo 7- Took his penalty like a world class penalty taker. Solid performance by pirlo, but nothing really special from him. Overall good performance.

Ambro 5- Lacking match fitness so I cannot blame him. Just came off injury. Wasn't his old self.

Beckham 6.5- Solid performance, could have done better. A little frustrated but I dont blame him. The refs were handicapped to the max.

Pato- 8.5- Genius, amazing wonder talent. I hope we agree a new contract with this school kid very soon. He definitely deserves it.

Inzaghi 8.5- LOL!! @ 36 he's still banging them in like its nothing. Great day for pippo. Wonderful goal off the corner. I hope he keeps it up.

Kaka 5.5- You could see there were glimpses of brilliance but he was lacking in severe match fitness. It showed and terrible miss. I hope he comes back soon, we cannot afford im out too long.

Ronaldinho 7- Wow. Partying too much (doesn't run) but his passing is still there. I hope he continues training, he can be very lethal.

Carlo 7- When wearing the scarf, the carlo in his natural habitat performs like a world class genius. However, when seedorf spilled coffee over the warm and cozy scarf, carlo began to cringe and have 5 bad games. Result turned out against seedof's favor. But the scarf is back and hopefully neverson doesn't touch it.

Damn @ abbiati out for the season. I just hope dida steps it up and I hope gattuso gets back asap. We need our players back, this is ridicilousl.

His problem is that he just doesn't give a damn anymore. It's definitely not helped by the fact that Carlo would continue to start him even if the stadium were on fire and Seedorf were wearing an asbestos suit.

Good point. I think he deserves more than 2 million/year. especially when I think of the money that goes into some players' pockets. those who barely do anything noteworthy over a season.

Don't be so touchy on the subject right away; don't forget, this is only Pato's first full season with us. There will be a contract extension and/or restructuring somewhere down the line with the way he's going.

Carlo Ancelotti: I Want To Stay at Milan

Milan demolished Siena 5-1 at the Stadio Franchi, as Filippo Inzaghi and Alexandre Pato both bagged braces.

“Just like last week’s match against Atalanta, we suffered after taking the lead and Siena put pressure on our back-line,” Carlo Ancelotti stated after the encounter.

“But things changed after our second goal on the stroke of half-time and we definitely improved after the interval, when Kaka came on and his pace helped us hit Siena on the counterattack.”

Inzaghi netted his 300th career goal in Tuscany, while Pato has now 14 to his name in Serie A so far this season.

“Inzaghi has netted five in two games and we honestly were not expecting that,” enthused the ex-Juventus boss.

“Pato could score 20 goals per season and he just needs to improve his consistency, as he has extraordinary qualities and makes everything look easy.”

Italian media are speculating that Ancelotti’s reign at San Siro could come to an end next summer and he could relocate to either Spain or England.

“There is nothing new on this front,” insisted the coach. “I love it here, I intend to respect my contract and I am just focused on claiming a top-three finish.

“I just need to remain calm and relaxed, but I hope that things will stay the same.”

no thanks. I would rather not go through another season of 4th place and quarters in the champions league.

edit @ bold text: its been 8 years when are they going to give it up LOL!

Actually the problem is Carlo not Seedorf. I don't blame the Dutch for having zero motivation against mediocre sides. The guy has won 4 CL trophies with 3 different teams it's only normal that he has become lazy... Ancelotti is the one to blame here because as you said he fields him no matter what even after some astonishingly awful displays when he was (no exaggeration here) much more useful to the opposition than to us. There have even been whole months when he did not have a single average at least game (which means he did not deserve a penny of what he earned) and he was still fielded... if not for his displays he should at least be rested because of his age, he's at 32 our most fielded player of the last 3 seasons (along with Pirlo and Gattuso)!

Time for a new keeper I guess. There is no point in keeping abbiat if hes going to be out for 6 months. We could wait for him to come back, but I doubt he'll be the same player again. I say go for a keeper from spain. They seem to be excellent shot stoppers.

Do you really want to go thru pre season with dida? The best we can get and hope is that he gets back by september. Missing pre season will hurt him a lot. He lets a few goals in and his confidence will be zero. Without the friendlies he will take until october/november to get back to his best. That is if he gets back to his best.

Turning into a Fillipo or Jack...gee, it sound's really like an awfull thing. I've been inside Fillipo's mind you know, and it's a scary place.

Now, talking of Ancelotti. He's not an idiot, and also not stupid. He, speaking from an Ancelottocentric viewpoint, needs (if he stays at Milan) change in his selection - Pirlo, Ambrosini, Seedorf, Kaka, Rino, etc. someone has to go away. They're too connected and too long together to have a normal relationship. You see, Dinho, a newcomer isn't such a problem - as soon as he started playing bad or do some side-jobs, he dropped him.

That said, I'm not sure wether the best thing is to keep our current coach or keep our current core. But I don't think we should bother with this matter right now.
