Ancelotti has Kaka doubts Saturday 13 December, 2008

Carlo Ancelotti admits he isn’t sure whether Kaka will be able to face Juventus tomorrow evening, but he’s focusing on “quality, not quantity.”
The Brazilian skipped training yesterday due to an upper thigh problem and remains a doubt for this Scudetto showdown.
“We are not optimistic nor pessimistic about his condition. He will travel with the squad and then we will see what the situation is on Sunday,” explained the Coach.
“[Andrea] Pirlo and [Massimo] Ambrosini are fine, while [Clarence] Seedorf and Ronaldinho are in excellent condition. [Pippo] Inzaghi also trained well and showed he has recovered.
“Right now the only player certain of a place in the starting XI is Mathieu Flamini. He is a new player who is settling in and has done well, but I maintain he can do better.”
Flamini’s presence is guaranteed as a replacement for Gennaro Gattuso, who will be out for up to six months after damaging knee ligaments.
“Rino’s absence could represent an extra motivation for us to do better tomorrow and dedicate the result to him. Individuals matter only to a certain degree, though, as the team play won’t change.”
Ancelotti is looking forward to Sunday night’s clash in Turin and won’t even try to beat Juve at their own game.
“It feels great to feel such excitement before a big game and I am experiencing it the same way I did before the derby with Inter.
“This match is important in terms of confidence and in particular comes at a crucial stage of the season. We haven’t been going through the best form, but we know we are a team who can rise to the big occasion.
“Juve were built as a solid squad with some quality added in, so we cannot take them on in terms of aggression. We need to focus on our quality, keep possession and play the ball to feet.”
Ancelotti has sat on the Bianconeri bench and was jeered last time he returned as an opponent.
“Personally, Juventus are for me among the biggest rivals, even back when I was playing for Roma.
“Nowadays they play with the highest defence in Italian football, despite the change in the offside rules. This method allows them to be very solid, aggressive and keep constant pressure on opponents.
“Claudio Ranieri is an excellent Coach who has proved his quality wherever he has worked. He may not have won much silverware, but for that talent is not sufficient, you need the right instruments too.”
The Milan boss confirmed that Thiago Silva will be in Milan over the weekend to put pen to paper on a contract, beating competition from Inter.
“He is a great central defender who was voted Brazilian player of the year last term. Right now he is the best player around.
“Milan have made an excellent investment for the future. In the meantime he will train with the squad and can play in friendly games.”
Due to the limits on non-EU players, Milan will not be able to field Thiago Silva until next season.
