According to gazzetta.it, the match was officially abandoned. This is one reason why Italy lost out on Euro 2012.

There's absolutely no point in us returning to Bergamo to play it, and our schedule is going to be more packed after the international break. Atalanta should definitely be penalized, starting with the forfeit of three points and a stadium ban.
