Given that the Atalanta fans were behind the trouble - and were trying to get onto the pitch by breaking down the plexiglass - I think a forfeit for them wouldn't be out of order.

Yep, but I can't see it happen.

The match will most probably be rescheduled

They can't, the match was suspended, not forefited.

It just means that the game will be played on a different date

Inter-Milan / CL quarter finals / suspended due to Merda fireworks! Milan awarded a 3-0 win, Inter fans suspended for some matches; you do remember. I expect nothing less than 3 points to Milan...

Well that was the CL this is Serie A. Things are different

Crowd trouble like this happens all the time in Serie A. And the match is usually just reschuduled and played at a later time

I'm personally not expecting the 3 points

According to gazzetta.it, the match was officially abandoned. This is one reason why Italy lost out on Euro 2012.

There's absolutely no point in us returning to Bergamo to play it, and our schedule is going to be more packed after the international break. Atalanta should definitely be penalized, starting with the forfeit of three points and a stadium ban.

It's sad that fans dictate whether a game is played or not, sad truth about Italian football these days.
