Those of you who want to see Gourcuff may just get their chance for this game. I think he may be given a start or almost certainly come in as a sub. Pirlo picked up a knock in the second half of the Italy-France game yesterday and didn't train today.

Did Clarence score against Italy in that Euro 2000 semi?

I don't think those clauses are common in Italy like they are in England.

C4 preview
Last season Ronaldo was the star of the show with his first goals for Milan in a thrilling 4-3 away victory, but Il Fenomeno won’t be at the Stadio Franchi after a return to Brazil ruled him out for a month.
The Rossoneri have not been able to field the South American at all so far this term and it looks as if they will have to make do without him for a while longer. With Alberto Gilardino continuing to misfire, Pippo Inzaghi giving his best in Europe and Alexandre Pato ineligible until January, Carlo Ancelotti has some tough choices to make.
Their Champions League campaign kicks off on Tuesday against Manuel Rui Costa’s Benfica and they cannot afford another Serie A slip after their 1-1 with Fiorentina. Kaka looks set to take a more pro-active role in support of Gila along with Clarence Seedorf, resting the veteran Inzaghi for the continental competition. Paolo Maldini and Serginho are the other long-term absentees.
Siena are among the favourites to go down this season and two consecutive defeats are not a promising start. Coach Andrea Mandorlini aims to stick with his favoured 4-3-3 system that, although attacking in theory, has given them just one goal in favour and five against. Their record against Milan in this fixture is no more reassuring with one win in April 2005 and three losses.
Enrico Chiesa again seems destined for the bench despite the poor form of Massimo Maccarone and Mario Frick, while Roma youth product Daniele Corvia is bound to feature as a substitute in the second half when legs are tiring. Valerio Bertotto is sidelined with a muscular problem, but Milan-owned Argentine defender Leandro Grimi gets the chance to shine against the club that sent him out on loan.
Keep an eye on: Paul Codrea (Siena) – The midfielder’s powerful free kicks from distance can spring a surprise on a shaky-looking Nelson Dida.
Last season: Siena 3-4 Milan
Form guide: Siena (- - - L L) Milan (- - - W D)
Siena (probable): Manninger; Alberto, Portanova, Loria, Grimi; Vergassola, Codrea, Galloppa; Frick, Maccarone, De Ceglie
Milan (probable): Dida; Oddo, Nesta, Kaladze, Jankulovski; Gattuso, Pirlo, Ambrosini; Kaka, Seedorf; Gilardino

I would personally go for this team, seeing as not all the players had to play in Internationals and it will be against Siena. And since we have the CL game on Tuesday it would be better to try and rotate as many players as we can without disrupting the team too much
Favalli--Bonera--Nesta--Cafu
--Brocchi--Emerson--Yoann--
--------Kaka--Seedorf--------
-------------Gila----------------
Basically the guys that didn't play in international games should play this game, Kaka should still play since he only played a friendly with Brazil, but others like Pirlo, Rino, Amdro, Oddo and Janku should definately not play.
Gila is a definate starter in this one since we need Pippo for Tuesday's game
Tennie
Sep 13 2007, 09:59 PM
Actually, Kaka's the one I'd rest, if we're going to rest anyone. He played most of two friendlies on another continent. The flight from Boston to Milan is a lot longer than that from Kiev to Milan.

Based on what I have read so far on acmilan.com, here is what I think the line up will look like:
--Bonera---Nesta--Kaladze---Favalli--
------------------Pirlo--------------------
---------Emerson----Ambrosini--------
--------------------Seedorf-------------
--------------Kaka----------------------
-------------------Inzaghi---------------
Kaladze will start because he returned early. Bonera is likely to start at RB where he did well against Kiev. Gatttuso is gonna rest I think. I can not see Ancelotti starting Gourcuff. Inzaghi is in better form than Gila and that's why I think Ancelotti will pick him.

Is Sergio even available? If he was I would be tempted to play him alongside Seedorf and rest Kaka. And if things don't go well we could always put on Kaka.

I really hope this won't be the team that plays against Siena, they are doing pretty bad at the moment and I think that the team I wrote above would be enough. And if not we could always change it up in the second half if we can't break them down.
Most of our starters came back from internationals and we are about to face a very difficuilt schedule, so we need to rotate as much as we can, especially Pippo and Pirlo, we need to make sure that Pirlo's form doesn't dip and Pippo doesn't get injured especially since Ronaldo's problem doesn't look like it's about to get resolved anytime soon.
And Yoann NEEDS to play games like this, and Carlo needs to understand that, otherwise we're just wasting all his talent
