QUOTE (il_diavolo_mtl @ May 22 2011, 01:28 AM) you still can't explain his woeful shot/goal ratio with rational arguments. well, I'm not trying to... yet he scored as much as Pato and Zlatan, hmmz... how is that possible then? Well, obviously he gets more scoring chances.. why? Is he lucky to have so? No, it's skill. Just like other stuff like his contribution in defending, building up, linking up, lots of work-rate and energy. Ah, it bugs me really people say when talking about Robinho that his finishing sucks, and that's all, no word more, just like, forgetting or not noting ALL the good stuff he does, and that's A LOT. Underappreciated, he's underrated. QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ May 22 2011, 01:42 AM) Pretty much everything actually does not cover much. Assist? Zlatan and Zee have more if I'm not wrong? Speed - granted. Work rate also. But for a striker, finishing is a priority. If you only look at stats, then you can easily say he's not that good. But stats show in fact little. Even when it comes to a forward, stats dont say everything. Robinho has been a huge influence when to comes Milan scoring goals, even though he didnt score or gave the assist always.

Defending? You actually mean he made a contribution in defending?
And Robinho has 33/14 while Ibra has 29 and Pato only 24. But that isn't so important. He could have had 24 goals if he'd been more professional. It's his unprofessional approach and easy going chance wasting that bugs me.

I only answered with them back. Initially I didn't talk about stats, I know how deceptive they can be. The real story I'll always remember how Robinho almost made me jump and pull my hair with his sitter missing. Just remember Brescia. This is something a 33/14 stat does not tell.

I defended Robinho by telling what he does well, only used the stat that he is topscorer along Pato and Zlatan, since il diavolo mtl said that he could be topscorer if.. Of course his finishing is frustrated, and therefore people are too harsh on him, and not praising him enough, because he had a very good season with us, BAR HIS FINISHING I AGREE, but there is so much more than just finishing in football, also when it comes to attacking.

QUOTE (X-Offender @ May 22 2011, 02:06 AM) This sentence is very wrong. Why? You think wasting tons of sitters in a very easygoing manner is a professional thing?

Questioning Robinho's professionalism is, pardon me, a very disgraceful thing. The guy has pretty much the highest working rate of our attacking line. He's always played for the team, sacrificed himself in positions which aren't ideal to his playing style and he has never spurred any negative behavior. The guy has been exemplary in such aspect and you should never question his professionalism. His chance wasting isn't due to a laid back attitude, the guy simply feels too much pressure when in front of the goal. That, and perhaps a little bit of rustiness he might have accumulated in the last year or so, when he wasn't really playing on high levels. And even despite that, his season was great. Just imagine how much more useful he could become if his finishing improved, which I'm certain it will happen starting from next season. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

He's always played for the team /I have personally seen him take SOO many passes when better finishers were in better positions. Before you bring up Pato as being a selfish player, let me agree with you and point out that Pato goals/game ratio is the highest on the team. Also where does team play factor in when you score a lucky goal of a GK deflection and you run to the closest camera and do a solo dance like you out-classed the keeper? He even tries to hijack other players' goal celebrations with that useless samba step.QUOTE , sacrificed himself in positions which aren't ideal to his playing style /Tactical sacrifice, any player in world professional or not has to do it from time to time.QUOTE and he has never spurred any negative behavior /his diving and his giggle and pray after he screws up routine does get me most of the time(i'll admit he's not the only one who does it though)QUOTE . If accuracy was so easy to train the whole world would be professional footballers. Haters gonna hate. ok seriously, have you ever heard of practice makes perfect? If your profession was to kick a ball for a living and trained with elite coaches and players several times a week, I don't think it would be too much to ask to have a remote idea how to put it on net? No one is arguing that he should be best in the world, but if I took *113 Shots (CL /Serie A) I would expect more then 14 goals *http://soccernet.espn.go.com/player/_/id/47426/robinho?cc=5901

QUOTE (Dracoris @ May 22 2011, 08:20 AM) Haters gonna hate What does that mean? Are you trying to substitute lack of argument with personal attacks? Please stop with this stupid parole, I don't hate any Milan player or coach no matter what.

To be quite honest, yes, you're right. He deserves some honorary credits. After all the scudetto was a team effort. No one should be left out as unimportant, even Oddo's cross contributed.
