Idiot Galliani and idiot Allegri didn't need to splash our precious budget on a poacher... We had much bigger needs than a poacher. That's why they are idiots.

Oh and paying your direct rival 11 mil to support their purchases is not very wise either.

Now keep trolling. wink.gif

I agree that we had better needs and that we shouldn't have paid that. But his overall poor performances are a reflection of just how poor our team is, rather than just him. Pazzini is about our only forward who's regularly played well over the last few years.

But how can you explain Pazzini's success then?

They're the same type of player playing in front of (according to you) the same terrible midfield. Yet Pazzini thrived while Matri folded like a house of cards. And don't tell me he didn't have chances. Remember that game where he literally wasted about 4 sitters? Just ridiculous

He never should have been brought in to begin with as we could have gotten a good midfielder for that kind of money.

His failure was just as much his doing as much as it could be blamed on our sterile approach to playing football under Allegri

Matri wasted a lot of opportunities while playing for us, it's not just the team's quality. He failed and was rightfully shown the door. The only loser here is Galliani.

Agreed, anyway, I'm happy he's doing well. Maybe we'll recoup some of the cash we wasted on him

When 1 forward is playing well and all others are not, that 1 forward is the exception, not the rule.

Balo has been good as well this season (the times he wasn't were mostly down to his own personal nature of sulking) Robinho was also doing very well until Allegri decided to push him on the bench to accommodate Birsa.

And Pazzini was doing well last season with an even worse midfield behind him. SES also did very well until he lost form and Balo also did well when he came in January.

Matri was just never suited for Milan, and the fact that many fans resented him being at the Club certainly didn't help matters.

As I said, his failure was down partly to the sterile football we play under Allegri where a poacher really isn't ideal, but the other half of the blame is all on Matri himself.

Balo, SES, Niang, Robbie, Matri have had more bad performances than good. Balo started great, but his overall performances haven't been all that. We'll just have to disagree.

Niang doesn't really factor into this, the kid wouldn't know how to hit the target if it was an inch away...

Balo last season had a stat of nearly a goal per game. SES struggled with form but he was scoring for fun in our darkest period last season and Robinho mostly misses sitters but in terms of performances he was doing great and was the top assist man in the league before Allegri benched him.

Matri has just been consistently bad in every game he's played. He missed sitters, didn't even involve himself in games by providing great hold up play, just absolutely nothing

His downfall was partly to blame on how we play, but it also had to do with him being weak

Have you guys heard about the most likely Vucinic-Guarin swap?

Could Inter get any stupider and could Juve get anymore lucky? First with us handing over 12m for Matri now they're getting rid of another surplus player for a great box-to-box mid
Fillipo Simone
Vučinić always scores against us, that's rather unfortunate. But yes, a ridiculous move.
kurtsimonw
It makes a lot of sense, especially with the rumours of Pogba going to City for £££ + Jovetic. So they'd end up with money, Jovetic and Guarin for Pogba and Vucinic, good deal.
Fillipo Simone
Yeah, it makes sense for Juventus (it usually does). But Inter?

It does make sense. They're going to swap Guarin for Vucinic + money, then sell Ranocchia at Dortmund (seems like a done deal) and sign Hernanes. That's their strategy. Will it work? I don't know.
kurtsimonw
Are Subotic or Hummels leaving Dortmund?

No, but Subotic has a long-term injury, while Hummels is also injury prone and out for a moment. They lack a good defender, hence their move for Ranocchia.
Linkman
I don't Guarín is that good, and I'm usually generous with south american players.

Well as I said, for Juve it makes an absolute lot of sense. But for Inter? It seems like something so retarded, kind of compared to Galliani's epic moments of failure

Apparently that Indonesian dude stopped the deal...

I'm happy if that is true, allowing Juve to become stronger, especially through feeding off of teams within the same league is asking for trouble, kind of like what happened for years in Germany with Bayern (still going on) and what happens in La Liga with Barca/Real.
KillerMax
Yeah it's official. It didn't go through and buve are pissed.
kurtsimonw
Roma: De Sanctis; Maicon, Benatia, Castan, Torosidis; Nainggolan, De Rossi, Strootman; Florenzi, Totti, Gervinho

Juve: Storari, Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Isla, Vidal, Pirlo, Marchisio, Peluso; Giovinco, Quagliarella
kurtsimonw
Nice to see an Italian game where there are so few empty seats, amazing atmosphere.

Nice to know! smile.gif Good, made my day. Like that Indonesian dude already! Guarin isn't altogether great a player, but he is a very handy guy to have in a team, and I just am so pleased he will not be wearing Juventus colors, at least for the near future. These black and whites just stuff their teams up with anything and anyone.

And they do this often at the expense of other teams in the league.

Happens everywhere though. You look at City, Chelsea, Madrd, Barca, Bayern... they all have players on the bench who would get into most teams, but they sign them so others can't really.

Anyone think Roma will win? Or are they falling into the same trap they fell into against Juve in the league?

Attack, attack, attack, get caught out on the counter a couple of times and concede 3

Roma won't win if there players refuse to get into the box.
Fillipo Simone
Great goal by Roma.

Nice counter attack, 1-0, Gervinho. Pjanic comes on and changes the game right away.

Pirlo isn't getting any younger. Soon he'll be 35. They have to find a replacement for him, unless they plan on keeping Pogba.

If I were Juve I'd take it and run. But that's just my personal opinion

Ah, that's quite a lot. At least they'll have money for a replacement then.
X-Offender
Well, Marotta said recently that they wanna keep him (Pogba, that is). 50-60 million is a lot of money, but it's not like Juve are desperate for cash right now.
kurtsimonw
Saw a tweet on my timeline from Roma selling tickets to their final 8 home games of the season. The lowest price group was 75-110! 8 games at that price to see one of the best teams in the country, amazing value. ohmy.gif

When i watch Lazio i always cringe at how bad Candreva is. Hernanes is easily world class, getting out of 1v3s and dominating the midfield

Candreva comes off after the usual stinker and Keita does more in a minute then Candreva did all game smile.gif

Yep, can't believe he actually gets to start for the NT when there's so much talent in attack that Prandelli could choose from
