An honest one? I must say, it's very refreshing to see a coach come out and say they got lucky or whatever. As for Pato, Didn't both Carlo and Leo bench him and not seem to trust him much too? This says more about the player than it does Allegri, in my opinion.

Under Carlo the guy played his best football, and when he was on the bench it was either due to: injury or teen-years (for a time he wasn't still proven enough). I think no one who's watched Milan under Carletto can deny Pato was treated more then fairly and was able to progress.

Its not about being treated fairly. its about scoring. I like how balotelli put it. They asked him why he doesntt smile when he scores; he said its his job to score, its what hes there for, he's happy but its something thats normal and expected.
Pato has done f*ck all this season and has been slowly declining year by year. I've personally had enough with him, I hope we swap him for Balotelli or sell him to Madrid.
We defend him over and over for what? Kaka at least won us something, what has pato done for us ? He is overrated and most of it comes from his potential. What has he actually accomplished? Has he won Top Goal Scorer? Has he even been named on Fif Pro's list of the best?

I don't get the criticism really. Robinho is missing sitters that my grandma would score with her cane and we're getting on Pato's back for a game where he barely got to touch the ball because the overall team performance was pure cr@p
I think it's ridiculous. And wanting Balotelli over him is even more ridiculous. At least I can always count on Pato to behave himself as a professional. He's going through a bit of a dry spell after being injured. That's how Pato usually operates, he takes time to get in his stride but when he does he scores regularly. The problem is his injuries, not the fact that he failed to score in a game

Agreed. You can't harp on Balotelli's minor off pitch issues and completely ignore Pato's off pitch issues. Neither one is perfect but to demonize Balotelli is unfair. To top it off he is playing better football than Pato to this point. The way I see it Pato has a higher potential but not by much and he looks less likely to reach his potential than Balotelli to this point in their careers.

The reality is a striker is being paid to score. Right now neither Robinho or Pato are scoring at an acceptable enough rate. If you look at pato's stats, his goal scoring ratio has been declining ever year and that is due to the simple fact that he has no desire to be the best anymore.
He his content with what he is right now. Its clear, you can see that the hunger is gone when you watch him play. For me pato is a finished Milan player. I can see him leave this summer and if not he will be given one more chance next year and if he doesn't perform, he will shipped out.

How am I contradicting myself? Balo could date the sheik's daughter for all I care. How does that disrupt the team atmosphere and consequently his performance? Same goes for Pato. How is he disrupting the team because he's seeing who he's seeing?
Balo's problems have always been his attitude. Something Pato never had. And an attitude problem like Balo has could easily disrupt an entire team. So far he's been ok at City, there have been moments when he was on the brink, but he's lucky to have someone like Mancini who is ready to put up with certain cr@p from him. Something that he doesn't do for someone like Tevez (hint hint

)
How long will that last exactly? Until he p!sses someone off, or someone p!sses him off? because that's a highly likely scenario in his case.
As for being the superior player. I don't agree, and I don't disagree either. Balo has had so so seasons, same goes for Pato. Only Pato is held back by an injury record as long as a player's who's been in the game for 20 years not his short 6 or 7.

I don't think goals are Pato's problem. He has 51 goals in 108 Serie A game, which is roughly one per two games. His real problem is his attitude and his injury proneness. Kaka got his knees done in at Milan, it's a different situation
Pato's recurring muscle problems started at Milan, as you said, it's obvious his growth was effected in some way. But the fact that they keep happening and it's always the same thing has to be somewhat blamed on our inept medical staff. That's why I said he would most likely get over his problems at another team.
Serginho and Bonera both had similar issues with the same recurring injuries for extended period of time. Both with their backs. It's not like this is the first time we've seen it happen. Kaka and Ronaldo saught out second oppinions from the NT coaches.
I think Pato should do the same imo, maybe other docors can give him better answers. Because the Milan doctors clearly cannot get a handle on it
As for Balo, I agree with Jack, he'd be a possible Ibra replacement in the future. Him and Pato are very different. And I never understood why they were compared so much and still are being compared. Maybe it's because they're both insanely talented young players who burst onto the scene at opposite sides of Milan

Gives him a chance to get games under his belt out of the spotlight. He's only 22 it would be silly to sell potential that he's got until he's fully developed around 25/26. Can't understand why Allegri isn't playing that now. With Robinho playing alongside at least then Pato could play in a more wide role rather than direct through the middle. Let him and Robinho run the channels
Only problem with that system would be Boateng playing more central rather than in behind but I'd be happy with that because we have more options in the middle if we need to change it

He does but not that the extent that Robinho does, he's not used to being needed to with City 99% dominating games. He's never really been in a side that's had to defend
I don't see the problem with rotating the strikers. No player should have a guaranteed spot regardless of there reputation. Hmm... well I disagree.
We all know that Carlo is a coach whose training emphasises a lot on physical fitness. Lotsa sandbox work etc. I'm not the right person but Bluesummers might be able to pitch in.
Also I remember the thing that players liked about Carlo was how he would somehow find a tactical system where everyone was in their favourite position. Pato under Carlo was an entirely different player, he had the freedom to do what he likes and run wherever and basically a license to play his style.
Allegri gives that license only to the Ibra-monster. The rest are under a tight leash.
Work rate, having to work channels, make intelligent runs...these are not things he is good at, but since he is not our natural primo-punta, he has to do this work. But to learn the role, he needs continuity and that's not happening.
