Merkel: "It has always been my dream to score in San Siro and now it has come true!".
Wonderful !
William405
Weird change,grrr.Where is Strasser?
Fillipo Simone
Why is Abate subbed in?
Fillipo Simone
Cassano was selfish. Could have found Abate, but...
William405
Cassano just doesn't like to pass to Merkel...
William405
Merkel is great! No way robinho could have missed that ;p

Pirlo coming on!
Fillipo Simone
Robinho makes it 3-0. Merkel assist.

Pirlo now in.

It was Abate, that's why he didn't pass the ball smile.gif
William405
Lol,ok that's justified.

But,in the first half he did it twice to Merkel, passing to Ibra instead of him ;p

Merkel injured,Pato on.
Fillipo Simone
Was Merkel injured or what? Pato in for him...
CrazyMilanFan

Good god, Pirlo out again. He's sooooo missed.
CrazyMilanFan

KillerMax
We could really do without Oddo. He is not even bench quality for us.
Fillipo Simone
Ibra turned into a bystander.

Really? I'd say compared to Abate, he's a top player.

He too isn't Milan material. He'd be much better suited in a smaller team where he can play regularly, gain confidence and improve his game.

It just bugs me how his touches are so nervous and he can't seem to make clean passes consistently. We really miss Cafu on the right. But I would be happy with someone with the confidence Simic brought to that side too. We just haven't had a proper right back in a while. Oddo, when he arrived was supposed to be a great signing. But his crosses from the beginning were really awful most of the time. Now he has gotten older and looks like has lost his confidence. Allegri's face said it all when Oddo made that flimsy clearance to give away the corner. I guess that's why Ziegler is coming in.

Now who says Seedorf should play ahead of Merkel?

Ziegler plays on the left though.

Now Merkel was impressive, wasn't he? He looks a very solid player. I like his style of play. No none-sense, strong and with good vision and understanding. Looks like Seedorf has to start playing more of an off-field role for Milan from next season on. I would like to see him as a director. When does his contract run out?

How's Antonini's on the right?

Seedorf is a free player by the end of this season. But I think he still wants to play.

I knew Merkel was a good player, yet he surprised me in this match. I mean, one goal and an impressive assist says a lot.

Where was Strasser by the way?
Dracoris
Strasser should've started.

I'd like to see Antonini on the right. He is right footed after all. Who knows, maybe he'll get back to last season's form.

I didn't watch the game, but I'm reading Pirlo was injured again. NOOOOOOOOO!!! sad.gif

EDIT:
I think I understand now...

You were suggesting that if Ziegler came in, if Antoni was capable of playing as RB?

And I'm not sure to be quite honest.

This June. If we sign a quality AM for next season, then I wouldn't mind having him as a sub. But if we're continuing with him as starting AM, that's a big no-no.

Antonini's right footed actually.

Yes, he came to Milan as RB. Never understood why Ancelotti forced him play the LB, back then, when we had options for that side.

Agreed, but it's all because of so little match practice + injury. Don't be that harsh on Oddo. Look at his clean tackles (okay, not always) and his crosses. I never supported him so much, but the difference to Abate is so obvious.

Merkel looked good. Made a crucial error in defense that could have easily made this match a lot more complicated, but he was good. Still, we can't judge him on the basis of this match only. Coppa matches are just a stroke above pre-season matches.

Wut? You want to extend Seedorf's contract? Please no. Let him leave the club (as player) for God's sake.

Merkel > Seedorf. Kept saying it, Allegri better never pick Seedorf over Merkel again.

I'd love to see Seedorf stay on, perform a sort of role similar to what Materazzi or Neville does(Ok..those were Grade 1 a-holes and bad examples but.. biggrin.gif). He's reached the stage where it's not just the physical fatigue, but also mental fatigue is starting to set in.

His importance in the dressing room is second perhaps only to Ambro and Rino.

Would he stay on post-retirement? I don't think so. I think Zee would go back fulltime into his charity works.

not if he's getting destroyed by nobodies week in week out.
his name will be tarnished if he doesn't retire
Jack Sparrow
For the fans maybe...I don't see it happening in the dressing room. Ambro, Rino, Paolo, Zee, Nesta, Pirlo,Pippo...they built this new Milan and unlike Totti I do no think they will ever stay on if they felt they were hindering the club.
MizNelson
Actually, I can picture Seedorf being a bit of a blowhard in the locker room simply because he's been here so long.
han2503
All I have to say about this one is that Cassano simply has to play. Him and Ibra really clicked and there was some great interplay between them. It's up in the air between Pato and Robinho atm, Robinho's finishing is appaling, while Pato's finishing is still great but his overal movement has been as terrible as Robinho's finishing...

Oddo was good and imo, better then Abate.

Merkel had some good moments including the well taken goal, but there were moments where he got himself into trouble and other moments when he looked lost on the ball.

Hopefully Pirlo's injury is not serious, we can't afford to play more games with the terrible midfield of 3 DMs...
X-Offender
Pirlo should be back for next week's game against Catania. The official website says his injury wasn't grave and that he'll start training with the team in just a few days.

Thanks for the update, great news we really can't afford to lose anymore points with Inter breathing down our necks as they are

Tell me about it. I can't stand it without Pirlo anymore. Boateng should be ready for Catania as well.
