What's that Kenneth Zohore like? Saw him come on against Chelsea last night, he's only just turned 17 and has amazing physical credentials for that age. Heard he had failed trials with Chelsea/Inter when he was younger though.
Just with all the stupid money thrown around for strikers these days is he one worth taking a gamble on?

Rangers supposedly on the verge of finally being taken over by new ownership. It would wipe out the debt and give funds to the new manager Ally McCoist in the summer to bring in some badly needed quality.
Problem is I've heard it a 100 times before and nothing's ever transpired.

I don't think you do need a new owner. The only team you're competing with has an awful side too, so it's not like you are in deserpate need of money to challenge. Though in saying that, seems you well and truly ballsed it up recently, you were miles clear last I chekced.

We ballsed it up because we have a threadbare squad DESPERATE for investment - we're owned not by a man but by the bank, Lloyds TSB to be exact. We have debts around 30M and the taxman wants his bill paid.
Our majority shareholder David Murray won't put in any more money to the club, and that's why we need a new owner who will.
Today we could only name 5 substitutes and 3 of them were youth players. We lost 2-3 at home.
This club desperately needs a new owner.
Are you paying too much on wages? Failing attendances? It amazes me how a team who regularly makes the CL can be in that much debt when they never seem to spend big on players.

It's because we spent beyond our means in the past. **** Advocaat spent £72M in 1998/2000 and Walter Smith spent about £30M when he returned.
We spent money we simply didn't have and it meant borrowing from the bank.
We make the CL because we win the SPL which means either qualifying stages of the CL or group stage outright.
As for wages, no, highest paid players are no more than about £20K a week.
Basically we did what Real Madrid get away with doing - spending money they don't have - but their government subsidises and bails them out. We don't have that luxury so the bank wants its money back.
After numerous parcel bombs and the generally worst off-pitch season of my lifetime, the SPL nears an end. Celtic have the advantage after a 0-0 draw at Ibrox. They have a game in hand and the league in their own control. They can only lose it now.

Hard to articulate but it's just been shambolic. Refereeing strikes, messy club takeovers, bigotry, sectarianism, death threats, parcel bombs... it's just been such a mess.

First time I saw it it didn't look a bad tackle because it looked like both feet were pretty much on the ground. But it really is bad, you can't jump in like that. Your whole body weight going into someone's leg like that is never going to end well.
A wonderful double on a personal note. Milan won the Scudetto and today Rangers wrapped up the SPL. It's turned out a good season 
Ajax won the Dutch League today - first time in years. Seems like De Boer was a good pick after all.

There are funds in place to sign players. We're not exactly being bankrolled by a Russian sugardaddy or owt, but we're much more stable now, and our debt with Lloyds TSB has been cleared.
Still need to be careful, but if the right players can be found, we'll pay hard cash.
So, what's happening in Greek football right now? I hear Olympiakos could face relegation?
Heard that not only is it been a shock to see deportivo and monaco go down but apparently river plate in Argentina might get relegated too

my guess, the main culprit will get a sentence which he will buy out, a couple of players won't play for the Greek NT again and everything else will be covered up.

Yeah, I thought that. Still, at least its competitive football back on the TV pre-seasons just don't do it for me and the Copa America has been 20% entertainment, 80% disappointment.
So Danny, any idea what the hold up on the Cuellar deal is? Seems to be taking forever.

Word is our boy Cuellar isn't overly thrilled about the loss of wages, and is waiting for Villa to grant him a pay off to make up for it. Which they haven't committed to.
Other theories, less believable, are that he's waiting for other clubs to make a move - Espanyol have been mentioned.
tbh, it's taken so long, I've actually stopped caring a bit. We've got Goian now, we're trying to bring in a few other defenders.
As Ally McCoist put it, it's 'kicking along' but Cuellar is not an immediate priority. Given he's injured and not available till September anyway.
We've had a problem getting rid of a few players. That's the downside of MON. While he's a very good manager, he seems to put players on big wages and then we struggle to shift them bcause nobody else will pay it.
That's really sad. River go down so they completely change their entire league.

In England £40k is about normal for a good defender isn't it? We could only afford £25k at the absolute most.
