8 point deficit now. FFS mad.gif
one game Carlo does everything right, the next he is a complete retard! I would actually like to KNOW WTF IS HAPPENING IN HIS BRAIN!!??

this will be a hard Scudetto to win... unsure.gif
amancik
Now back to 8 points behind...oh what the hell...
CrazyMilanFan
that last senderos-seedorf meant that we will drop points wonder why cant we understand that kaka and r80 are not stiker we should have put sheva or pippo for seedorf the defence was working fine why change it
gawlo
I just can't understand how Carlo can leave and play up front with Ronnie and Kaka.... Its incredible. It is always the same when he substitute the striker and want to play with only two attacking midfielders... then we're always losing the ball, losing stupid goals and we're lacking of creating anything. Its just stupid!
Bluesummers
he should have taken seedorf off or kaka not pato.
Bluesummers
taking off the english master was a mistake.

No way we'll win it if this is the attitude the coach is showing to his team.

What the hell!!!???

We played a great first half and then just crumbled in the second and to top it off Carlo had to step in and make his usual stupid subs.

Senderos for Seedorf????? Really Carlo???!!!

UHHH, this is just so frustrating!!!!
elcordobez
As soon as we bring on another defender all of the sudden we stopped closing down their wingers for some reason,we had those guys in our pockets for 75mins and we started leaving players wide open in the box.

amancik
Argh! this is so frustrating!
Inter 49
Juve 43
Milan 41
Genoa 37
han2503
The most stupid move of the night had to be the last one, disrupting the balance of the defence when we were under pressure while putting Senderos in. A player who obviously takes time to get into a match from what we've seen and until he gets there he's clueless.

It's always the same sh!t with Carlo, I can't wait to see the back of him at the end of the season

Looked like he was limping off the field, probably had to do that.

I don't agree with the Pato sub,as soon as he came off we lost everything we had going for us in attack.
Pato could've at least held the ball up at their end of the park or draw a few fouls to ease up the tempo.

Kaka should've been taken off instead cause he wasn't allowed to do anything all game

Mook
Senderos is rubbish. Period.
Rivaldo
huh....Carletto....what are you thinking about, when use this 5-3-2 without strikers....

So sad....
amancik
The Coach has thrown the Scudetto away...unbelievable substitution...
I can except Seedorf for Shevchenko or Inzaghi, but Senderos???

Carlo is rubbish. Period.

It's not Senderos' fault that he was put in at such a moment in the game, it was utterly stupid to put in Senderos in the middle of the defence while we were under that ,uch pressure.

Also, putting in Flamini for Beckham!!! Seedorf should have been moved back in midfield and Beckham replaced by either Dinho or Sheva/Pippo. But then to remove our only stricker and have no focal point in attack to hold up the ball is even stupider then the first sub
amancik
Now I understand why Carlo sometimes reluctant to make changes .... because he is a dumb coach!
amancik
To make things worst, Inter have a home against Torino while we have to face Lazio away.
Thanks Carlo!

Last time I checked, a football game lasts 90 minutes...
Surely though, the fault does does not lie with Mr. Faultless for Milan in yet another game coming on in the second half looking pale. And the fault does not lie with Mr. Faultless for holding us even deeper with his substitutions.
The fault I'm sure lies with some taxi driver in Peru or a coffee shop clerk in Denmark.
Pato is having a very good game and he's the only constant threat for Genoa but instead of a horrible Kaka, it's him that's coming out for a midfielder...
Seedorf is having another average game and when he's needed to do the only thing he does right, hold on to the ball, he's taken out for a defender...
Damn you Peru taxi drivers and Danish clerks!

We played what in my view was our best 45 minutes of the season so far and threw it all away just like that in the second half... that was poor!

And again... Kaka was horrible tonight, just awful!

We better fire those taxi driver, and those Danish clerk, then? sleep.gif Because surely they're responsible for us not winning against a team like Genoa, even though we have the talents of the likes of Ronaldinho, Kaka, Pato, Beckham, Paolo and Pirlo. Let's fire them and get back to winning the Scudetto. Provided there is one to win.

I respect Carlo for what we've won with him, but it'd be worth losing the Scudetto this season, just for the sake of seeing him leave (or shown the door), and bringing in some new thinking at the helm. This Milan team is too much for Ancelotti. sad.gif He lost his marbles after Istanbul 2005. Even Rivaldo is left clueless today.

PS. Great, great post, dst.

I'm tired of this cr@p

Going to head to bed as it's almost 11 here and have to be up by 6:30.

Talk to you all tomorrow, can't wait to read what excuses Carlo comes up with now, or he'll just go straight to blaming the players, but let's remember it's never his fault, as dst said it's probably the Peru taxi driver's fault, anyone's but his own. I hate myself for making my 5,000th post a Carlo bashing one, but I just can't come to terms that we play great in the 1st half, and then when we go in for the break, instead of coming out motivated and firing (like most other teams do), we come out slacking, lazy, and demoralized. Where's the motivation of the coach? ohmy.gif And then if he gets his subs right, we end up with a good result. He messes them up, and it's curtains for the team. Where do all the Carlo defenders go after each loss, that amuses me sometimes.

Someone said in the beginning of the thread that if we win Genoa, Lazio and inter, we'll be champions. sleep.gif Frankly, if there's a time to kiss the Scudetto goodbye, now it is. You can't have a star-studded squad like Milan and drop 2-3 points at will, because of slacking around.

Neither am I. cool.gif But if we somehow win it, it'll be more because of our direct competitors' doing than ours. We can even manage to win when inter and Juve drop points. It was the same old same old last season, and look where that ended us. Had it not been for the Ronaldo injection the season before that, we might as well have finished 6th. And to think we have probably the best squad in Serie A - the most high profile, the most family atmosphere, and the most experienced. But still things don't work the way they should.

Our team is seriously fahked up, and the first step to correcting that is accepting we have problems. smile.gif FACT.

Relax. No one will hang you, literally or otherwise. wink.gif I want to agree with you (and do on some points above), but thing is we didn't build a 100 million squad (Pato, Ronaldinho, Borriello, Flamini, Zamborghini, Uruguyans chaps, Sanderos, Abbiati, Antonini, Abate, Sheva, Beckham, etc) in these last couple of years to bring in a mere change. The management wants the Scudetto, after the humiliation of last year, and frankly if the coach can't land it to us, then I fail to imagine Galliani keeping him for another season. We're not a small mid-table club, we have fees/wages to pay. The only thing that kept Carlo all these years was his wins and titles. If they're not coming, both parties will part ways.

And to tell you the truth, with the team that we have, we should have been 6 points ahead of inter by now, not 8 behind.

Nope. The guy is on the wrong side of 30s, gotta cut him some slack. sleep.gif And beside, at this age, he never is first team material. A very handy backup, that's all, who steps up in times of trouble or injuries to regular starters.

He had to at least look as if he was trying to close down that cross lol....

There's alot of things that went wrong during the goal

here:

Senderos shouldn't have let the guy who provided the header have so much room right in front of goal, the guy gunning down the flank should've been closed down earlier and someone should've tracked Militos run.
Janku was in no mans land,he was just ball watching while a Genoa player makes a run inside right behind him.

So i'd say it was a collective screw up.

But they had chances before that too, lots of them,Abbiati had to pull out his shot stopping awesomeness to save one and they had a few shots go astray.

QUOTE
Although Milan dominated the affair, Genoa never gave up and punished the home team. Diego Milito grabbed the equalizer with just three minutes to go.
The result has left Ancelotti's side eight points adrift of league leaders Inter, but the coach is unfazed.
"We played high up the pitch in the first half and I think this meant we had less energy in the second half," Ancelotti told Sky Sport Italia after the game.
"We played very well for an hour and we kept the pace and rhythm going, but after that we started to ease off and we started to suffer.
"Genoa applied the pressure and it was hard for us. We also had trouble dealing with crosses.
"We were not able to win the game and play like we deserved to."
Ancelotti was seen arguing with fans after the game, but he insists it was no big deal.
"It was just two fans, I wouldn't go as far as to say it was the whole of Milan, it was nothing," added the coach.

Dear lord, Senderos and Favalli were playing!?! Is Ancelotti intent on making sure we concede goals every single match?

I have always said Janku is a weak link in defense. He needs a holding midfielder to track back and cover the spaces he leaves, not a Beckham style player who wont track back, or does a poor job if he decides to

Here's part of an editorial that's on tuttomercatoweb. It's written by the guy who's in charge of the Milan section of the site (and also milannews.it). link to whole article.

QUOTE

[The game, positive for the first half, poor in the second, showed various problems that a positive result would've covered, but perhaps it's positive that the problems are seen now: first of all the inadequacy of certain players to the rossoneri cause, specially at a delicate moment in the game. Leaving aside reflection on Ancelotti's tactics, one can underline how Mathieu Flamini and Philippe Senderos demonstrate with each appearance, whether from the first moment or coming off the bench, whether in a friendly or in Serie A, are real and proper handicaps for the team: the Frenchman, coming with a princely wage and acclaimed by the fans as a definite starter, is disappointing both tactically as well as in personality, demonstrating insufficient adaptation to italian football and little intelligence in the intensity of his challenges, which are almost always fouls. The Swiss is even more worrying, but on the other hand, the mistakes seen in these games are the same seen many times at Highbury: in this case one can talk of a water hole in the transfer market, where defenders are bought without principles.]
Habitant
i dunno i'm not surprised one bit with the result, watching this team for the past 3 season is like listening to a broken record.

more often than not we see one of the 4 following scenarios:

-play poor slow, unimaginative football and fail to win.
-play poor slow, unimaginative football and grind out a 1-0 win.
-dominate for 60 minutes, get tired midway throughout the 2nd and concede a late goal and fail to win.
-then we have barely a handful of games we're we dominate and win by a big margin (maybe 7-8 games).

and in all 4 instances carlo has his imput with his poor squad selections and bonehead substitutions.

Agree 100% should've kept the pressure on by bringing on another striker. Considering how bad or old our defenders are I think Offense is the best Defense for now, it's getting harder and harder for us to cling on to one goal leads.

Am I crazy for thinking that we should go back to the 4-3-1-2 formation with Kaka playing a "wandering attacking midfielder role." I feel that when he's up with Pato, he pushes up too far and gets too few touches on the ball. I think he should slip farther back into midfield so he can carry the ball forward and distribute the ball to the forwards...Just a thought.

Flamini only produced one stellar performance, last season with Arsenal, before that he was either on the bench or in the stands. Or used as a utility player, and played as a left back when Ashley/Clichey were injured.

About the game ... I fell asleep right from the start, woke up real cranky when I saw the result. But Milan isn't too far off the top. There is still a good stretch of games to play and who knows, the table could be turned on inter in an instant.

Beckham plays on the right side, Janku is covered by Ambro on the left, or should I say 'should be covered' 3/4 of the game I see Ambro wondering around as an attacking winger that likes to foul a lot. I don't know if this is Carlo's brilliant idea to have Ambro play as some sort of wierd defensive winger or what I don't know.

Ambro should be covering his fullback by retreating back when Janku is making a run or when we're in defence his supposed to be double teaming the opposing player with Janku, because we all know that Janku is weak defensively.

I don't know what the point of having a defensive mid is if he's going to play on the win and cross bad balls to no one in the box.... rolleyes.gif

Flamini was one of Arsenal's best performers last season, he was their revelation, before that he was the utility player no one cared about, but after last season everyone including Wenger screamed bloody murder when they lost him, and they still haven't found a decent replacement for him that is why they are currently struggling.

Flamini was great in pre-season and the first couple of games in the league, but then Rino and Ambro were both fit again and like always Carlo puts in his usual players instead of letting the player in form continue to play. How do you expect a player to perform when he's in a new league and is barely given 10 minutes each week? He needs time to adapt not be thrown in in the last 10 minutes of a game becuase we're under pressure and want to hold on to a 1 goal lead. rolleyes.gif
