And the way we've been playing we were never certs to keep a clean sheet wink.gif Again carlo the mastermind fooks things up.

I agree with Fillipo, it was Favalli's stupid error which led to this. If it wasnt for that w####r then we would be through already

Its normal that managers protect their lead with five minutes to go, although i expected one of the playmakers to go

I would have never taken the only striker off as that is absolutely ridiculous! Being too negative has yet again bitten carlo on the backside and he totally deserves it.
kurtsimonw
I'm with I-Ross, you can't just take off EVERY striker. We basically invited them onto us for the last few minutes, you can't do that. Especially against a decent side like Lazio.

I do agree with you in some respects, Sheva taken off for the last few minutes means no reference in attack, taking off one of the brazilians would have been better, however, most teams do not concede like this, in the last few minutes, its too harsh blaming it on Carlo. If anything hate him for keeping faith in Favalli and Emo, not his substitution

The following players are not Milan quality and should go to the nearest airport and leave the city

Senderos
Favalli
Emerson
Zambrotta

£8m for Zambrotta is ridiculous, Barcelona must have been in tears when it was accepted. I can imagine the conversation that happened between the Barca management

"Milan have made an inquiry on Zambrotta, what should we do?"
"Just make up a stupid figure, and that should scare them away. Something like £8m, no one is going to pay that for a 31 year old fullback"
"Milan have accepted...They didnt even try and negotiate"

laugh.gif I wouldn't be surprised. believe me.

After Palermo, now Lazio owned us from a tactical pov. they thoroughly deserve to win. no question about that.

And we can think about our next inventions. playing with no striker, Kaladze as a midfielder, desperately trying long balls from our 1/3 when we're losing, and things like that are not enough.
acid911
It probably went like this Patriots, but I'd still give Zamborghini some time. unsure.gif Can't say the same about the rest. We played with no defense through the match, and towards the end we didn't have an attack either. I turned off after 105 minutes. Even Dida couldn't make me watch this.

Zambrotta played okay, but he has been declining at an alarming rate throughout the season. He might level off, but the decline will eventually catch up

I think Zambi is one of our better players but that was funny!! laugh.gif laugh.gif

Btw, Senderos was really good "tonight" IMO. even blocked Zarate's (?) goal-bound shot, which Pandev scored on rebound.

Favalli and Emo are definitely not good enough. but what can we do, really? Carlo will continue to play them...

This I can understand. mellow.gif We can't sell him further, that means £8m go kaput. And he'll deteriorate as you put it, meaning unless we use him carefully he can't have too much of a future with us. Not everyone is Paolo, after all. My little comedy skit although exaggerated is still partially true. We cannot negotiate for players anymore. £10m and half of Di Gennaro for half of Borriello, Zambrotta for £8. Who remembers £12m and Vogel for Olivera. Dont get me started on Senderos and Shevchenko

The only saving grace is that we totally screwed over Chelsea, when dealing with Sheva. Brilliant money we got considering performances put in by him, although Chelsea will be laughing at us, if we buy a 32 year old striker (who i think will be 33 by that time) for £15

Economically we did good only on Flamini and Dinho. one for free, the other for... peanuts.
whoarethepatriots
Jose is not infallible, as proved in his later days as Chelsea boss, all it takes is a spirited side to beat him (their Greek opponents and us of course) anything is possible, although its remote that we will sustain even a half decent challenge

Flamini was good, although we never dealed with Arsenal in anyway. Dinho was good, as im pretty sure that his shirt sales and general boost to the brand Milan will increase. If Ronnie played slightly better for Barca, we would have paid £30m for him, as our people are poor in negotiations

Carletto is an idiot. And I don't mean idiot as in lame, I mean idiot! I honestly believe he does not know what he is doing...
It's unbelievable! Picking Favalli and Emo is simply INEXPLICABLE!
Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?
There is no answer really anything said on this would just be frustrating and wrong.

Emo is a finished player. He is not even good enough to play in Greece anymore. He should not even be playing football let alone playing football for Milan, a team that has set winning the championship as a goal... He is done, period! Everyone in our squad is better than him, every single one of our players. And yet Cardacio is not picked ahead of him, I guess he's not capable of getting himself sent off.

Favalli is a sub. He is normally our 3rd or 4th choice and he's much better than what other teams have for that. But that does not mean I think he should have played. He is a sub and he is finishing his career. He will not get better now and there's always a chance he will make a grave mistake because he is a sub. It's simple. If not for that then the reason why he should not have played is because we might need him against Catania and he is not capable of playing two games in 4 days as he's 36 years old. And yet Darmian was not picked ahead of him , I guess he's not capable of conceding a penalty.

I don't think they told him to bring home the Coppa Italia... the only reason to field those two is because he's afraid. Ancelotti is weak, he prefers to lose than feel insecure by trying something new. No one really cares about this cup and had we lost by fielding a few youngsters no one would have anything to say to Carlo. On the contrary we would be happy having seen some new faces. Instead bad choices make thins worse for everyone.

This is the first time I've been all against a coach. I wholeheartedly believe Carletto is an illness and the sooner he goes the better. The players like him because he's close to them but he can always be their friend, MILAN NEEDS A COACH! I'm sorry to say this but I don't give a **** about what anyone has to say about this as I could not be more against anyone.

PS Another game, another idiot to officiate. Another RETARD. Another brainless sc**s! The Lazio players should have gotten 3 yellow cards only in extra time, the rule is clear when it comes to what someone who goes for the player instead of the ball should receive.

PS 2 There is a good thing to take from this game, they did not give up despite playing with 10 men and conceding twice and showed some heart!

Top post, dst. king.gif And I agree with Rivaldo, Zamborghini still has time to redeem himself. He has a good 2, if not 3 years left in him. The least we can do is try and get them out. Can't say the same for Favalli and Emerson, though. They have their roles, and they're being played out of them.

Seriously, I was pretty excited about this match even though I didn't show it. dry.gif Thought we'd put up a good show after our defeat. But now I hit the bed, with nothing good to take away from it. Well okay, Dida is one, he had a decent night out. Oh, and at the very least Pirlo should have played instead of Seedorf, to better hit match fitness in our league games. I've been crying out loud that Ronaldinho + Seedorf both in one game is a big no-no. Pirlo and Ronaldinho, yes.
novfan
Picking Emerson to start was absolute lunacy. I think it says something when we play better with 10 men than we do with 11 if he's on the pitch. That said, I'm happy for Sheva. I saw him make several well timed runs, and his goal (coming from absolutely nothing) showed that he can still score. I think if paired with pato or boriello sheva would actually be able to contribute alot. I hope his strike tonight gave him, the team, and most importantly the coaching staff some confidence. A think a confident sheva is a goal-scoring sheva. trenchcoat.gif

I missed the match because I had to stay late at work (my boss had to leave early to go to the hospital), Once again, we park the bus after a 1-0 lead, including playing with NO strikers. Emerson must've thought this was Roller Derby instead of football, and Ronaldinho just might end up paying for that egregious elbow shot. If you couldn't tell already, I'm very aggravated about this result, because this is a match we should have won but dumb nagging mistakes did us in. We did play better when we were a man down, so there is a positive.

I do feel bad for Dida, because he played his heart out tonight and deserved a victory. About the PK, my guess is that he thought it would be again chipped down the middle, as was the case with the last two PKs he faced (including the Ronnie/Zidane match), hence his reaction.
vnata001
i feel sorry for dida too. he played exceptionally today. the dida of old was certainly reincarnated.

and hey, tip of the hat to shevychenkkkoo. he showed signs today. he wasn't offside too often..and his movement up front was far better than that of most strikers that we've tried to play as the santa hat of the christmas tree. he really is making strides with every appearance he makes.

And we got to see Cardaccio!

We also saw that when emerson was sent off..kaka came to the middle of the park he injected pace into our attacks and spread play around more instead of hanging around waiting for service..and as soon as he did that we started to move better. He was more influential doing that than he was the rest of the game. i wanna see him do that more often. Dinho and Seedorf in the midfield leads to too gradual a build up. Kaka releases, switches, and stretches play very well when he plays IN THE MIDFIELD..something he can't do waiting around in the wings.

just goes to show carlo isn't really getting the best out of his players..cuz he isn't playing them in their most effective roles.

some good things happened today..it wasn't all terrible.

that said, that last tackle emerson made was atrocious. it cancelled out all the good work he did in the first half.
gal_kenny
I'm not going to complain..We played a great game...But i gat something to say and this is more of a fact!! We won't win anything without buying new defenders..Its that simple!!!
Il Diavolo
Another ridiculous game from Favalli. It's absurd to rely on that player. No matter what tournament we participate in, he is just low budget at best. Inter stuf... you know. Emerson wasn't even the villian. He is born stupid and was quite useful in the first half, not allowing Lazio to attack more often. Flamini wasn't much better.

It was a better game than Palermo, but... I mean, could it be worse? I doubt. Glad to see Sheva scoring a REAL goal. He invented the situation and finished it top class. He sucked in the first half though. Aside from desire, not much has left. I do believe he will get better and better since 3 months are simply not enough to cover for 2 years of benchwarming.

And Carlo got afraid again.... No forward for like 6 minutes.... When Lazio were attacking. Grand mistake.

Whatever, Coppa Italia is the most boring and useless tournament I've ever seen. It's a shame italian football includes something so stupid. What bothers me is that our Calcio games are even worse lately. Let's hope Catania is a different story.

QUOTE (Tennie @ Dec 3 2008, 10:18 PM) *
Right. So how many shots on goal has Kaka had? How many assists? How many balls did he get back from Lazio players?

he dint get red, thats for sure. he dint lose us the game in one swoop.

you speak about holding players in the same standard well what has emerson done all season, besides put in two ok performance the 2nd one being this one which he got send off?nothing! kaka hasnt been very good, but that basically means he has been the difference, then again no one else has (besides a few goals from ronaldinho).

but after 3 seasons of basically carrying the team, with a pirlo who hasnt consistently performed since the world cup (which i dont see you criticize). playing poorly for 1 season i can handle. *edited*

emerson, favalli, and even kaladze to a certain extent(who's only had a couple of good seasons with us) havent really done anything for the club. in fact it can be argued that milan has done more for them, and mroe often than not they play poolr or make crucial mistakes. so what do you expect? they dont get criticise because they play so amazing and then make the odd mistake, it's no coincidence that most people feel this way.

you obviously have something against kaka your almost itching for us to say something bad against him, maybe it's because he gets the most attention and well i think he's earned it, and a guy like pirlo comes in close second which no shame and takes nothing away from him. but personally a milan without kaka is worse than a milan with pirlo, and we've seen glimpses of both this season.

IMO both kaka and pirlo arent being played properly, and as a result for the past while (then end of the last season leading up to now) they havent looked dangerous.

pirlo is normally played with 2-3 other midfielders that lack pace, more often than not he's accompanied by two 2 DM which slows the pace of the game too much and we cant break down defenses. but play him with gattuso, or ambro, or flamini and replace the other DM with a pacy mid (ei anoother attacking option) then with the two AMs ( r20,kaka) the fullbacks, the CF and has more options.

another problem with kaka in the Xtree is that he pushed out wide, he isnt nearly as effective there as he is int he center, right behind the strikers.
PatitoFeo
Great goal by Sheva - he should soon be fit/sharp enough for Serie A.

Dinho used to be fast and inject pace/dribbling like Kaka, but those days are done.

I would be interested in seeing this formation:

Pato - Sheva

Kaka

Ambro - Pirlo - Gattuso (when they are all healthy that is)

I really like Kaka playing as an armador
