In your criticism of Gila yes. Not you as a person don't get me wrong.

But you have to admit, that you will find new ways of criticiseing Gila no matter what, even if he isn't playing, next thing you know you'll be criticising the way he sits down on the subs bench and because he does it so badly that is why the team are losing

And I seriously can't understand how you could stay behind and support a player like Dida and not Gila.


Pippo has also been injured this season not as consistantly but he has. And with his it's always a scare that he will get injured seriously and will be out for most of the season.


And I respect that policy, but I'm an avid believer that a great player should retire on a high, a player like Cafu should have retired 2 seasons ago, and Paolo will retire this season because he himself knows that he can;t keep it up any more and let's face it, this season he hasn't been playing well. Last season he was still doing well but this season is pushing it to it's limits.


1. But if certain players don't retire then no new players will join in, because thats Gallaini's policy. That's why people want certain players to retire, I for one love Sergio and Pippo and let's not even get started on Paolo. But the reason I want them to retire is because I know that if they do stay on then no new players will be brought in, at least not quality ones

2. So do I (except for Dida, who just did one too many goofs for me to actually still have it in me to keep supporting him when I know that having him in between the sticks is causing harm to the club)

Well, might I remind u that last season 'we' had an agreement that I could bash Gilardino as much as I want had he not turned out to be the player u preach he will become ?!


Dida ?? Dida is much more effective to the team than Gilardino. Whether he is having a bad patch now is something else, but he is world class undoubtedly ... Therefor there is a reason I defend him ahead of Gila, for starters he won us so much (as the saying goes; a Gkeeper is half of the team )

Dida was world class, and occasionally can repeat some of that...
Gila never was world class and that's it.

BUT

Dida's past.
Gila still can reach a world class level (hard, but still,..)

We said by the end of this season, and you're cranking out your best material to put him down.

And I don't preach I just choose to actually support him because I've seen glimpses of what he could actually do.

And Dida hasn't been world class in years, and if you call a 4 season long spell of howlers a patch then I don't know how you could actually get on Gila's back as you do.

And as you said, a goal keeper is half the team, therefore he is a much more vital part to the team. So the team can afford to actually keep Gila and keep giving him chances, Dida on the other hand can't be given that much chances since his position is that much more important.

Then explain to me what Milan have been doing for the past 6 years in Italy and Europe ?!

Dida is a very effective member of the squad. If you choose to magnify his mistakes then do it without prejudice. (I am talking to since u have been following the team for so long now .. had u been one of those who just tuned in, i wouldnt even bother talking about Dida ).

Dida has had a rough patch ... Whilst Gila has not had a good patch

Dida has proved himself a worthy squad member, while Gila has proved a f*ck up as of yet !

And we can go on and on ... But holding Dida by the balls and claiming he is no good anymore is pushing it, since he had propelled us every season since that Manchester triumph in 02/03 to being challengers. He has been as solid as can be. But just these past two season he had shown his howlers, but not on a continuous basis, No ! Just patches from period to period. And even with that he pulled himself together to push us to Athena (dont say it was all Kaka', cuz it was a team's effort!).

And if u were to count his many moments in Milan, he was extremely cruciel for us in the 04 Scudetti win .. And the two seasons after that he was one of the main reason he kept Juve in check and pushed for another CL final again and again !

I have a reason to defend Dida !

But Gilardino ?! it wasnt this season my friend, it was last season ... And I dont need to criticize anymore, I am just too tiered of watching him mess it all up over and over again. Hopeless really.

Again, going back to a past that has been long gone, Dida has been going down hill since the flair in the 04/05 CL and I know some may laugh at this but it's true

And I never devalued what he has done for the club in the past, in fact I was a big fan and supporter at one point and even after his continued mistakes I continued to support him. But it has been one too many and I know many people who feel this way, there are people who feel this way on this board also.

And yes it was Kaka and the team that got us to the final, if Kaka and Seedorf hadn't made emends in the second leg against Man U we would have never gone through since he made 2 howlers in the first leg that cost us that match.

Dida has had mild good spells during these last 3 seasons that have showed us a glimps of his old self but other then that he's been f@cking it up on a consistant basis.

When your heart stops when a high ball goes into the box because you know your keeper will 99% of the time flap at it should be indication enough that that particular keeper should not be a starter for a club like Milan, no matter what he has done for us in the past.

And the bet was for this season, not the previous one.

This has no sense -- first it was a Toni thread, then Toni-Gilardino, then Pippo and Gilardino and now Dida and Gilardino. Please, let's keep on, maybe we'll soon enough compare Gila and Zeljko Kalac, or some historic figures, like Comandini,..

And that's what scares me, that he will be our number one next season. And for the record, Dida used to be world class, as in, past tense, he's not anymore.

Of course the others were instrumental but sometimes you've got to admit that it was a 1 man show in Certain games, where if he didn't produce his moments of brilliance we wouldn't have gone through. And again the team had to wprk twice as hard on more then one occasion to recoup from a Dida howler. Games angainst Bayern and Man U flash into my mind when I mention this

It wasn't that good of a shot, but still would have kissed Dida's feet for saving it at that particular moment. But again, going back on past events to justify and mistakes that he makes in the now is not right. Fact is that moments like that rarely come from him anymore when it used to be what was expected of him in every game. Now I just pray that he doesn't flap or make a huge howler that will cost us a game
