And no Brocchi instead of Rino. This is the way we play best in the league. And I can't really see Carlo dropping Seedorf

Hope Seedorf can recover on time. And Janku on the left.

Ambro should be replaced by Gourcuff... the boy is doing well, goddammit...

well i don't think that will be our formation... with Gattuso suspended and Roni & Pato in the squad, it'll be very interesting to see how Carlo plans this one out.

My best bet would be that Carlo would start off with the 4-3-2-1 .. (Gila).

Then introduce Pato and/or Ronaldo later on ..

Well, we definitely won't be seeing Pippo in this one.

A.C.MILAN COMUNICATO UFFICIALE
09/01/2008
L’A. C. Milan comunica che oggi il calciatore Filippo Inzaghi si è sottoposto a esami clinici ai reni e al piede destro. Nei prossimi giorni sono previsti ulteriori accertamenti e visite specialistiche.

[AC Milan communicates that today, Pippo was examined by doctors. He's got a kidney stone and a bruised foot from the derby that's still painful. In the following days, there will be tests and specialist visits.]

You know what's your "problem" Pana , when you have a fixed oppinion about one , there is nothing that player can do to gain your support. Ever again ...

Yet you talk about seedorf not doing his best when he clearly produces more then Gilardino . An old , slow & lazy Seedorf is still better then Gilardino at this time.

I'm sorry , but that's what I think of it. Don't hurt me now biggrin.gif

You understand how that's contradictory right? biggrin.gif Are you ever going to like Gila yourself? I doubt it...

I only have a fixed opinion about someone when I believe he cannot change. And that's what I think about Seedorf. He doesn't have the will to give something when we play weaker teams and that's it. He has the gun but he ain't got no bullets... so what us is the gun? Only in semifinals he wakes up. But I don't blame him, the guy has won 4 CL trophies with 3 different teams... hell, even I am not all fired-up when we play weak opponents with my team and I haven't been to any CL finals... I blame Carlo and the board for they never showed him he is replaceable!

I agree here. He an do whatever he wants and he's still the only option. The only problem is that all other options within our current squad aren't better. Brocchi is a good and hard worker but he lacks class, while everyone says Gourcuff ahs class and just doesn't work hard enough. TBH I start to doubt his class too.
I know that Clarence has the class and if he shows that only for 20 minutes he's of more use for us than the two mentioned above.

That's not true buddy. It's not that I dont like Gila , I believe a striker playing for Milan should have certain qualities wich differs himself from other players. Take Inzaghi , he's technically a zero , but he has that killer instinct wich Gila doesnt.

I really cant see where Gila is so irreplacable. Will we ever say "remember Gila? that goal he scored? and what he did for Milan?" ... I dont think so.

But I can allready tell stories abot seedorfs goals against man utd , Inter , Shaktar , Juve , etc etc ... all important ones , not to mention his wonderfull plays too.

Plus , look at the ratings from all sorts of sportpapers. Seedorf can have low ratings , but most of the times Gila is even lower. So its not only me (thank god smile.gif )

So in the end , I think you are contradicting yourself. I dont mind if you dont like seedorf , cause he is getting slow. But please , for the sake of common sense , dont praise Gila over Seedorf.

ps. Why didnt you liked the movie ? Not historical accurate enough ? Wich i can understand when I saw that giant Rhino & elephants getting owned by a few spartans laugh.gif

I do like Seedorf but his past goals you listed there do not cloud my opinion. I believe he should be replaced immediately and that is completely irrelevant with what he has done in the past and whether I like him or not.

Gila has done nothing extraordinary in Milan. But he does something and it's definitely more than the 0 we get from Seedorf so as long as that stands I will keep praising him over Seedorf... there's no common sense in this (according to what I believe is common sense you should be as tired of watching Seedorf walk as I am...), I have my opinion and you have yours!

Oh and the movie was good just... nothing special. What was disappointing was the leading actor. He looked much better in Miller's graphic novel - which I also did not particularly like! tongue.gif

Here is goal.com's probable formation:

Dida
Oddo Nesta Kaladze Jankulovski
Pirlo Ambrosini Seedorf
Kakà
Pato Gilardino

This, of course, was posted AFTER the article explaining that Janku's meniscus was still causing problems was up. So...Janku out - Sergio in?

EDIT: Here's Gazzetta's probable formation:

Dida
Oddo Nesta Kaladze Serginho
Pirlo Ambrosini Seedorf
Kakà
Pato Gilardino
Darunia
I like the lineup.. Napoli is a good team though but hopefully we will get out first win at home tongue.gif

I'd expect Gila to start solo striker, and then Gila and Clarence/Ambro to be taken off for Pato and R99.

Or maybe we might start with Gila-R99. I don't think Pato will start. Carlo would wait to see how rough Napoli are playing etc.

We better not start with the xmas tree, I can't take another game with that formation in Serie A. Now that we have 3 strikers and 2 of them are SS we should be taking advantage of the situation.

We already have Pippo out and you can never count on how long R9 will stay fit so I don't see how Carlo could waste the opportunity to field 2 strikers now that the opportunity has presented itself

Whenever Ronaldo and Gila were available, Carletto used them both and I see no reason why he would not opt to do so now seeing as we have won all of those games!

Our best formation in the Serie A is when we play

Rino--Pirlo--Seeedorf
--------Kaka----------

And 2 strikers, the xmas tree clearly doesn't work, and even when we play with 2 strikers and 2 defensive mids we still struggle to score in Serie A. Best option is to play only 1. Hopefully Carlo will rivert back to playing in this style.

Pato laughs off debut nerves Saturday 12 January, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There will be 70,000 fans waiting for Alexandre Pato’s Serie A debut on Sunday evening, but the 18-year-old Milan starlet is not remotely nervous.

“I have many years ahead of me to prove myself a talent. First of all I will focus on scoring my opening goal, then I’ll think about many more to follow,” said the teenager ahead of Sunday night’s big match against Napoli.

“We will see if my first goal comes this weekend. Right now I am very relaxed and happy to be a Milan player who has the chance to face Napoli.”

Pato has been with the Rossoneri since the summer after his £10m move from Internacional, but because he only turned 18 in September his contract could not be ratified until the January transfer window.

This will be his first official game for the club and already the expectations around ‘The Duck’ are extraordinary.

“Ronaldo gives me good advice,” he told Sky Italia television. “He always tells me to relax, not think of the many people who talk about me and to prove who Pato really is.”

The Stadio Giuseppe Meazza looks set to be sold out on Sunday evening, partly due to the sheer curiosity value of seeing Pato’s debut.

Milan have not won a single Serie A home game this season – the first time this has ever happened so far into the campaign – and teammates are also looking to the Brazilian for inspiration.

“Alexandre is a great talent and what really surprises is that he is still only 18,” said Marek Jankulovski.

“In training he has done some marvellous things. Everyone now expects a lot from him and I think the moment he gets the opportunity, Pato will show all his worth on the field of play.”

Pato "just" needs to relax, the talent will flourish. something that Yoann hasn't managed to do in most of the games he's played in; and that's why he's yet to show his full potential.

Sosa warns Rossoneri
Saturday 12 January, 2008

Roberto Sosa leads the line for Napoli on Sunday evening and insists they will do everything possible to spoil Milan’s party.

“I am certain this is going to be a spectacular game,” smiled the Argentine ahead of this weekend’s clash at San Siro.

“Clearly we are playing against a great side that is celebrating the new year and their Club World Cup victory.

“We’re going into an historic stadium with the whole planet watching. It will be an important night for us and we have no intention of being bit-part players in Milan’s party. Football is great because anything can happen.”

It will also be the day of Alexandre Pato’s Serie A debut and all eyes are on the Brazilian teenager.

Napoli must do without suspended hitman Marcelo Zalayeta, so ‘Pampa’ Sosa is expected to take his place upfront alongside Ezequiel Lavezzi.

“Milan have great champions, but we have players of quality as well who could become world class in the future. We are preparing for this match intensively precisely because we want to be up to the task of this huge fixture.”

The rivalry between the clubs stretches back to their Scudetto clashes in the 1980s and ‘90s, although Napoli have been in Serie B for the past seven years.

“Once we are there, with everything we have done to get back onto the main stage of Italian football, we certainly don’t want to look bad,” continued Sosa.

“In fact, we intend to take our chances and really go for it. We are not supporting artists here, we want to be protagonists. I also don’t deny that the Argentina-Brazil element creates extra motivation, too. What you have seen of Lavezzi so far is just a taster.”

Meanwhile, Napoli have announced that midfielder Fabio Gatti has been sold to Serie B outfit Modena. The player, who turned 26 last week, has played for Perugia, Catania and Cremonese.

::channel4::

Napoli are a club I like. And this is a good team they have, I particularly like their newcomers, Hamsik and Lavezzi. They also have Dalla Bona who played for us in the past.

I hope for a good game and, finally, for a first win at home! smile.gif

Carletto gave his pregame interview.

Highlights:

* Ronaldo will play between 45 and 60 minutes
* Pato will play and Carletto thinks he can play with any of Milan's strikers. Sounds like a return to the 2-striker system (YAY!)
* Janku will be ready to play next week
* Pippo should return to training in the next 4-5 days
* Seedorf will apparently not play on the left but more in the center
