Sosa warns RossoneriSaturday 12 January, 2008Roberto Sosa leads the line for Napoli on Sunday evening and insists they will do everything possible to spoil Milan’s party.
“I am certain this is going to be a spectacular game,†smiled the Argentine ahead of this weekend’s clash at San Siro.
“Clearly we are playing against a great side that is celebrating the new year and their Club World Cup victory.
“We’re going into an historic stadium with the whole planet watching. It will be an important night for us and we have no intention of being bit-part players in Milan’s party. Football is great because anything can happen.â€
It will also be the day of Alexandre Pato’s Serie A debut and all eyes are on the Brazilian teenager.
Napoli must do without suspended hitman Marcelo Zalayeta, so ‘Pampa’ Sosa is expected to take his place upfront alongside Ezequiel Lavezzi.
“Milan have great champions, but we have players of quality as well who could become world class in the future. We are preparing for this match intensively precisely because we want to be up to the task of this huge fixture.â€
The rivalry between the clubs stretches back to their Scudetto clashes in the 1980s and ‘90s, although Napoli have been in Serie B for the past seven years.
“Once we are there, with everything we have done to get back onto the main stage of Italian football, we certainly don’t want to look bad,†continued Sosa.
“In fact, we intend to take our chances and really go for it. We are not supporting artists here, we want to be protagonists. I also don’t deny that the Argentina-Brazil element creates extra motivation, too. What you have seen of Lavezzi so far is just a taster.â€
Meanwhile, Napoli have announced that midfielder Fabio Gatti has been sold to Serie B outfit Modena. The player, who turned 26 last week, has played for Perugia, Catania and Cremonese.
::channel4:: Napoli are a club I like. And this is a good team they have, I particularly like their newcomers, Hamsik and Lavezzi. They also have Dalla Bona who played for us in the past.
