REFEREES, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

After Milan-Torino and the penalty not given for a foul on Massimo Ambrosini Adriano Galliani took a strong position against the refereeing class.

(ON THE PICTURE: MASSIMO AMBROSINI IN MILAN-TORINO 0-0)

MILAN - Here are the declarations of delegate administrator Adriano Galliani and coach Carlo Ancelotti:

GALLIANI

"Milan had an excellent first half, and once again the referee was not on our side tonight. There was a clear penalty which he failed to give us. This year it seems that by definition there should not be a refereeing problem, but it's there and it's big. Everytime on Monday I have to hear Collina telling us we're right, but that just makes us more nervous. I would like to count, and I will, the amount of points that we have been denied by refereeing mistakes. There was also an investigation done by the consumers' association which revealed that Milan have been the team most penalised by refereeing decisions this year. This is not good. I have the duty to underline these things, I can understand mistakes but not never-ending mistakes. What we are assisting to this year is unacceptable, and commenting on the rest of the match is pointless."

ANCELOTTI

"Also today there was a clear mistake by the referee, we need to be given our due. As far as the game is concerned, we created some chances in the first half, but then the apprehension caused us to lose our focus. We lacked precision and clarity, but considering the situation that is acceptable. But our results at San Siro are starting to become incomprehensible. In any case now we return to the Champions League, we will have a chance to redeem ourselves, even though we are playing against good opponents. From our part we are aware of the importance of the match, winning would be very important at this point in time."

"In this period we are trying to keep the referees calm, but ignoring mistakes like today's becomes very hard."

Our board using a referee error as excuse for our disastrous performance and they never mention how nasty Milan played [Gila wasting chance after chance, Ambro diving, Favalli and Brocchi in the levels of Serie C1 players, Kaka and Pirlo just shadows of two of the best players in the world, tons of mistakes in passes, etc]. our board are just going low and lower. disgusting.

Our board using a referee error as excuse for our disastrous performance

This is plain crazy, i dont u/stand how the so called champions of europe can stoop so low. These guys need to address the real problem. There's no motivation, no competition in the squad (Ancelotti has his special XI), no youth, no ambition, i'm beginning to hate this club.

Milan is a club that should compete convincingly in all matches, the old guys don't have the energy to last a season, the youth are not given a chance, how is the team expected to grow??

Then of all craziest things I've heard is Ancelotti coming out to say that's he's found the key, that teams don't play open football against us and that's why we lose! The task of a football team is to explore gaps in defences and score!!! Our ambrosinis, gattussos, brochis are absolutely non-creative.

Let's face it, Ancelotti has run out of ideas and the management is not keen on investing in the youth, that's why we are misperforming. Milan needs an overhaul.

We're the only team in Europe complaining about refs week after week in the official website. Specially after mediocre matches like Empoli, Roma or yesterday.

We should be ashamed.
jefri91
that was a clear penalty for us. A foul for torino doesnt matter. We are Milan and we will come through out of this sooner or later.

even though it's true what they say, it's disgusting and embarassing to see it on milans website.-.. seriously...
nobody takes it seriopus anyway
and the only damage is to our reputation establishing as whiners....

Really?? What about Juve and Napoli??

There is a certain Schuster, who after yesterday's match said something along the lines of 'The referee is Catalan...that explains it all'.

And don't even get me started about Mourinho.

And if yesterday's goal by Gallas had been disallowed...you think Wenger would say, you know what, it's not that the referee denied us the goal, we weren't able to break down the defence.

I'm not saying what we're doing is right...nope what we're doing is kinda embarassing. But to say no team in Europe is complaining is u letting out ur frustrations.

And I dunno, but breaking the deadlock with a penalty or otherwise, would have made a huge difference to the game play. We saw that against Samp.

Not to justify anything, so don't any of y'all try to counter my argument saying that doesn't excuse we didn't play well enough. Nope that doesn't. We played bad, and couldn't snatch the win.

But I don't think our team is in the kind of mindset or form to win despite the referee.

this is not excuse , this a subject that Juventus ( Board and Players ) point out too and Moggi with the same words said here that other two great rivals of inter are in the same situation as we were in 2004-2005 season and 2005 - 2006 season with Juventus and Now i am sure it's all coming back to Moratii and Inter , this is very ordinary because Moratti tracking its rivals for 14 years and last year events that start from his friends in Telecom was the best time to take the chance and control ,

this is not new and starts from last year when Juventus system wiped out and in the same period Berlusconi give his place to prodi , so all of those that could take important decisions were in opposite side from Milan and Juventus . so we can see that refrees are making mistakes and this in absolute adjustment to the conditions of the teams like Milan and Juventus and is very hard to know for public to judge ,
yes we cant make excuses but we cant wait to see another Juventus story for 20 next years with the name of inter .

Moggi: Inter shouldn't have Ibra Sunday 4 November, 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Luciano Moggi believes Inter have taken advantage of Calciopoli to pluck Juventus’ best players. “I would never have sold them Zlatan Ibrahimovic.”

This week Nerazzurri patron Massimo Moratti insisted he had paid “market value” prices for Ibrahimovic and Patrick Vieira during the summer of 2006 when the club was demoted.

“Football is not corrupt, it is a business and management works to develop the product. You need to be smart to deal in that environment,” said the disgraced former director of sport.

“Inter did not win, but as soon as they got Ibrahimovic he took over the whole team and now they are victorious. I got Ibrahimovic and if I had still been there, I would not have sold him to Inter.”

Ibra was snapped up from Ajax in 2004 and helped the Bianconeri to two consecutive Scudetti – later revoked in the Calciopoli trial.

Roma had also been interested in the player, but it was Moggi who always managed to secure the top transfer targets.

“You need to be smart in football, as managing a top club means always watching your back. I have always won and had the strongest squads. Let us not forget than in the 2006 World Cup Final there were nine players out there signed by me.

“I don’t know if you’d call it talent, but it is good to never ask for money from the shareholders and always win.”

Moggi was interviewed on La7 by Daria Bignardi and commented on how he felt when the Calciopoli scandal first broke.

“I felt like a train that had been derailed. From triumph and a high-profile position I went straight to the gutter. I was afraid to leave the house because I didn’t know how the fans would take it.

“I reacted in the end, at times too strongly. At one stage I thought about ending it all, but faced with a family I must protect, I hit back.”

He was accused of leading a Mafia-style group controlling Serie A and even affecting international call-ups, but Moggi insists he was made a scapegoat and hints at ulterior motives behind last week’s controversial refereeing decisions against Juventus in Naples.

“People hate me because I have won too much. I am not an angel, but there are far more devilish creatures than me. There are those who illegally spy on people and now say that the referees make mistakes in good faith,” he said with a veiled reference to Inter’s notorious legal battle with Christian Vieri over private investigators who allegedly wiretapped his phone.

“Good faith are two words that have nothing to do with what is happening now, when the referees are making more mistakes than ever.”

Words of Moggi about something that he was an specialist about cool.gif

Thank you armisee. I'm almost certain, that somebody is playing behind the scenes with the ref situation, and Milan is doing all possible to point out that they know.

We've had shittier seasons than this, we all know, and we haven't looked to the ref as an excuse. Nope, this isn't just a conspiracy theorist speaking either.

The whole calciopoli wheeling-dealings should hint at something going on now as well.

Moratti the fvcking spy...

What Moratti did was far more dirtier than Moggi's dealings with the referees. spying is the lowest point a human being can go. I hate that camel-face..

is it that hard to see?!?! every bloody time we dont win it's just great to detract attention to the ref, there was no clear penalty but it was a 50/50 and apparently thats why we dint win rolleyes.gif laugh.gif

and carlo man... how is it acceptable??? i mean if i'm a player why would i evenany feel pressure when there no competition in the team so i can play as bad as i want and nothing is going to happen and in addition all the coach is doing is trying to find excuses and says that it acceptable.

This is getting ridiculous. It wasn't even a penalty. rolleyes.gif

If they're going to give penalties for things like that, we'd have around 5 or 6 EVERY game, everytime a corner is taken pushing like that goes on. Then you'd have to start giving it all over the pitch, players would be getting sent off for consistant fouling.

What a ridiculous excuse. This is getting shameful.

Y'know, if we were actually earning our salt on the pitch this season, instead of floundering in the depths of Serie A and regularly biting the big one at home to the likes of Torino and Empoli, then maybe we might have a case.

But in all honesty, we don't. We have so many holes in our system big enough to drive a Packard through and we're only succeeding in embarrassing ourselves by petulantly calling out the refs every other week if we believe something doesn't go our way, rather than addressing what's really wrong with our squad. It just makes us look childish while simultaneously raising the disturbing question: Is this what the most prestigious club in Europe has now been reduced to? Are we now (shudder) the new Inter?

laugh.gif Whatever man... We are not the joke... last year we won a more prestigious trophy than them despite all the difficulties and this year, again with all the difficulties, we still have a shot in other competitions and we also won the super cup. And yes, it counts!

And even if this year passes by and we don't win anything more than the super cup? One bad year... We will come back stronger. Inter have been the joke of Italy for the past... I don't know... billion years... They did NOT deserve the scudetto they won on paper and they are more involved in illegal actions more than anyone right now... It's more than obvious how EVERYTHING seems to go in their favor in the league while they are just average in the CL. The dark clouds will clear and this moment will pass. Milan will remain intact.

Yeah, whatever you say.

We won the most prestigious trophy? It's easier to do when it's the only thing you're competing in. It's like a 13 game season for us. For Inter, it's much more. And they have the Coppa, too.

And no, the Super Cup isn't big. Even Inter wouldn't brag about winning that. rolleyes.gif

THe champions league was last season, it doesn't prove anything this season. in competitive sports its about the results and not what happened a year ago. In fact it makes us more pathetic that we are not winning and its a taste for the arrogance of Milan's management who said that we are fine as we are.

Personally I don't care if they win anything, I just want to see them play at the top of their form. What we have seen is 30% of that greatness and its mostly because of our poor offense with Gilardino and others who can't finish consistently. We have Kaka and Seedorf and thats it. Outside of the box we can't shoot if our life depended on it.

The lowest level possible is blaming refrees. Most of Kaka's goals have come from penalty kicks. Does Milan blame the ref for other teams when other teams don't get penalties when they deserve them--> NO. We had about 6 chances to score. Theres nothing more miserable than a win by penalty. In this case if we had scored on a penalty we would have been far from a positive win over a bottom level team.

I don't know if you are trying to prove something to me or not, but I agree with you and that was not my point. Last year was a horrible year and we still won the CL. This year, looks like it's going to be worst. But this is new to us Milan fans. Everybody is feeling the pain. We will come out of it sooner than later. This simply can't go on. Problem is people think Milan is in a trance, where the team will sink and sink and sink, then when all is lost. Suddenly the board will wake up and start doing the moves to rebuild; right ? WRONG.

This team still has the spirit, maybe a few glitches here and there, but overall Milan is the strongest team in Europe today. WHat the team have done so far this season is a horrible patch of results due to several factors. But with Ronaldo back (and now that Sergio is gaining his match fitness..), Milan will be even stronger.

Don't get me wrong, the board will rebuild, I just don't see it happening anytime soon. Cuz look at it this way; Dida, Nesta, Oddo, Pirlo, Gattuso, Seedorf, Kaka', Ronaldo ... I mean these players are Key players. Maybe add a defender here a striker there, maybe a leftback and an extra midfielder. But overall, this team has already proven it's worth on the pitch! Rebuilding looks more like a far cry from home wink.gif

(Can we please make Zambrotta one of the new signings? I do think we need new blood. And maybe someone like Riquelme in midfield so there'd be a sense of competition for spaces and more cover for the creative players. God help us at this point if Kaka/Pirlo/Turtle are hurt.)

I think that what R7 is trying to say is that Milan HAS had dark periods - worse than what's going on now - before and that they've come through it stronger than ever. And I agree with him, because I remember the nightmare years after Baresi retired. So, like R7, I tend to take the long view of things and have little doubt that Milan will bounce back even if things look grim at the moment.

Milan the strongest? no! you're going too far and no one would believe that. firstly the results prove it's not true. and secondly the performances... everyone has his own opinion, you saw Milan on Saturday, but did you see Barca's [jaw-dropping] performance last night, too?! (I bet you didn't) if we're the strongest team in Europe today and we can't even win at San Siro [not just once, not just twice... five matches in a row], then what are they?! Martians?!  rolleyes.gif

... so you still think we're going to thrash Inter in the derby, don't you?!  rolleyes.gif (Nice Dream)

Yes I still believe we will thrash Inter wink.gif If Juve can hold them off to a 1-1 draw, them Milan can do more!

Barca's performance? Did you see them last week? wink.gif And what is your point here rolleyes.gif

I am not even gonna bother to reply again, cuz my belief in this team is based on something more than Kaka' and any dream transfer you wet your bed for. This is a team I have followed for the past 17 yrs! My reasoning for being positive is because this team has always done something extraordinary.

And when I read through your posts, recently, all I see is a shallow insight into what this team is capable off. Maybe you should go and cheer on a team like Chelsea; they are fully equipt to your liking and guarentee you a title at the end of every season. PLUS their owner isn't shy to throw away a couple of millions to give you goose bumps. rolleyes.gif

p.s. Don't laugh and look childish when i say Milan is the strongest team in Europe! Cuz the UEFA standings prove that they are, an achievement this exact same team reached!

Don't you just love how Gandhi-like Jack is? You can never get him angry... You could call him names and make fun of him to no avail. That smirky wise-***, Gandhi wannabe brown brother... Salute.

So now you think I'm insulting you. What we have here is a failure to communicate.

I didn't mean you're a geeky pimple faced so-and-so. At least you don't sound like one.

But somehow the thought of a young guy who's always speaking the truth, I found funny.

That's impossible. tongue.gif

You've got to lie about something...

Failure to communicate?! it’s not my fault, all of a sudden you came up with this kind words for me (!) and I couldn’t just swallow them. but I don't say you insulted me. no, you just expressed you thoughts and I responded to that, fair and square, without felling insulted. cause I thought to myself 'how can someone judge another one like this based only on two lines of football issues'!? maybe you said that just for the sake of it, I have no idea… but if my reaction was too harsh and that bruised your feelings, I ask for forgiveness! tongue.gif

laugh.gif About the nick...you've got a point, it is very kiddish, I first took it up when I started played Counter Strike and it just stuck on ever since. I've been using the same mail ids since I was maybe 12 or something and was too lazy to change it something sober. So yeah, the names are kinda hilarious.

You were a 12yo when The Pirates of the Caribbean Sea was released?! laugh.gif maybe there’s a book the pictured is based on?!...

Anyway you got my point wrong! there’s nothing wrong with your nickname and that Johnny Depp avatar and anything else like that. I just wanted to show you how thin the line between what we think about people [especially in forums, where there's no face to face encounters] and what they really are is. hopefully now you understand it’s not right to make such premature judgments which are not even based on effectual truth. wink.gif

Ah... it was so off-topic. sorry everybody!

Nope..don't bother. Ash is away, if ever anyone has hidden dreams of a utopian anarchy, this is the time.

Swear, flame, throw bouquets and brickbats, diss the mods (king.gif), flip the bird, tell someone to stick it up their rears, really stick it up...uhm well...ok maybe not the last part. But you get the idea wink.gif

Then I apologise too, for appearing to judge you. It's not something I do. Except in dst's case, but that's so that he doesn't feel left out.

No I was referring to my e-mail ids when I made the 12yo comment. I got one that says Orlando_magician, then my personal fav (just after I went a week reading only Mario Puzo works)...mafya_syndicate and so on...

Jack Sparrow....was something else. One of my team mates went with Sam Fisher, so I needed something with a cool ring to it. And no one's cooler or more zen than the drunk Capn. It stuck. It's also helpful when chatting. More than half the blokes here wouldn't be able to pronounce my name correctly. So Jack is easier. biggrin.gif

*sigh* Nope Gandhi would be Porty in the summer transfer. That's when Porty stocks up his spliffs, and pumps in enough acid into his system so he can spew it all out when the season begins. Now there's a milanfan icon.

Me, I'm just a very non-confrontational geeky li'l wimp. tongue.gif

I really like to bet on that with you. but I'm holding myself. biggrin.gif because f there's one thing I've known Milan for in these years, is that they're sometime perplexingly unpredictable. hope Derby Della Madonnina's one of those occasions.

I love this team as much as you do. but that doesn't make me renounce the truth. RIGHT NOW we are not the strongest team in the world; but sooner or later we will be back to that status. is it so hard to believe for you? rolleyes.gif it's football, every team has its ups and downs but you don't want to accept the fact that Milan are not at their best right now. I think the real Milan, the Milan we all know, is MUCH MUCH stronger than the Milan of these days. heck yeah! five winless home games in a row speaks for itself...
