QUOTE (pKillerMax @ Nov 4 2007, 02:13 PM)
(IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Whatever man... We are not the joke... last year we won a more prestigious trophy than them despite all the difficulties and this year, again with all the difficulties, we still have a shot in other competitions and we also won the super cup. And yes, it counts!

And even if this year passes by and we don't win anything more than the super cup? One bad year... We will come back stronger. Inter have been the joke of Italy for the past... I don't know... billion years... They did NOT deserve the scudetto they won on paper and they are more involved in illegal actions more than anyone right now... It's more than obvious how EVERYTHING seems to go in their favor in the league while they are just average in the CL. The dark clouds will clear and this moment will pass. Milan will remain intact.
*

THe champions league was last season, it doesn't prove anything this season. in competitive sports its about the results and not what happened a year ago. In fact it makes us more pathetic that we are not winning and its a taste for the arrogance of Milan's management who said that we are fine as we are.

Personally I don't care if they win anything, I just want to see them play at the top of their form. What we have seen is 30% of that greatness and its mostly because of our poor offense with Gilardino and others who can't finish consistently. We have Kaka and Seedorf and thats it. Outside of the box we can't shoot if our life depended on it.

The lowest level possible is blaming refrees. Most of Kaka's goals have come from penalty kicks. Does Milan blame the ref for other teams when other teams don't get penalties when they deserve them--> NO. We had about 6 chances to score. Theres nothing more miserable than a win by penalty. In this case if we had scored on a penalty we would have been far from a positive win over a bottom level team.

I don't know if you are trying to prove something to me or not, but I agree with you and that was not my point. Last year was a horrible year and we still won the CL. This year, looks like it's going to be worst. But this is new to us Milan fans. Everybody is feeling the pain. We will come out of it sooner than later. This simply can't go on. Unless Berlusconi is done with this team or something. Or he God forbid dies and the team falls in the wrong hands.

Harsh reality, yes, until we wake up and start rebuilding this squad from the ground up.

Problem is people think Milan is in a trance, where the team will sink and sink and sink, then when all is lost. Suddenly the board will wake up and start doing the moves to rebuild; right ? WRONG.

This team still has the spirit, maybe a few glitches here and there, but overall Milan is the strongest team in Europe today. WHat the team have done so far this season is a horrible patch of results due to several factors. But with Ronaldo back (and now that Sergio is gaining his match fitness..), Milan will be even stronger.

Don't get me wrong, the board will rebuild, I just don't see it happening anytime soon. Cuz look at it this way; Dida, Nesta, Oddo, Pirlo, Gattuso, Seedorf, Kaka', Ronaldo ... I mean these players are Key players. Maybe add a defender here a striker there, maybe a leftback and an extra midfielder. But overall, this team has already proven it's worth on the pitch! Rebuilding looks more like a far cry from home (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

(Can we please make Zambrotta one of the new signings? I do think we need new blood. And maybe someone like Riquelme in midfield so there'd be a sense of competition for spaces and more cover for the creative players. God help us at this point if Kaka/Pirlo/Turtle are hurt.)

Actually it is not new. It happened before, it was even worse before !! Today, maybe in the recent 5 yrs, yeah this is a very low point. But I doubt it is anything serious. Cuz I have lived through worse.

I think that what R7 is trying to say is that Milan HAS had dark periods - worse than what's going on now - before and that they've come through it stronger than ever. And I agree with him, because I remember the nightmare years after Baresi retired. So, like R7, I tend to take the long view of things and have little doubt that Milan will bounce back even if things look grim at the moment.

Yeah our team has suffered great injury! The big clubs won't let us bolster up, it's unfair... we don't have any power! I wish our president was some fixed up billionaire, too bad...

Oh wait... this is milanfan.com... I thought... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

QUOTE (BMWTaylor @ Nov 5 2007, 12:13 AM)
Y'know, if we were actually earning our salt on the pitch this season, instead of floundering in the depths of Serie A and regularly biting the big one at home to the likes of Torino and Empoli, then maybe we might have a case.

But in all honesty, we don't. We have so many holes in our system big enough to drive a Packard through and we're only succeeding in embarrassing ourselves by petulantly calling out the refs every other week if we believe something doesn't go our way, rather than addressing what's really wrong with our squad. It just makes us look childish while simultaneously raising the disturbing question: Is this what the most prestigious club in Europe has now been reduced to? Are we now (shudder) the new Inter?
*

GOOD POST!

And yes, in this matter we've become the new Inter and they've become the former Milan! they no longer need to make such excuses (like they used to some time ago) because they are the strongest team in Italy. some people on this forum don't want to or cannot accept this, but they are.

Milan the strongest? no! you're going too far and no one would believe that. firstly the results prove it's not true. and secondly the performances... everyone has his own opinion, you saw Milan on Saturday, but did you see Barca's [jaw-dropping] performance last night, too?! (I bet you didn't) if we're the strongest team in Europe today and we can't even win at San Siro [not just once, not just twice... five matches in a row], then what are they?! Martians?! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

... so you still think we're going to thrash Inter in the derby, don't you?! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) (Nice Dream)

I quit a few years back. I'm presuming you're one of those blokes who've never had a girlfriend? And is one of those nerdy types in class, who don't need to give excuses for homework!

So now you think I'm insulting you. What we have here is a failure to communicate.

I didn't mean you're a geeky pimple faced so-and-so. At least you don't sound like one.

But somehow the thought of a young guy who's always speaking the truth, I found funny.

That's impossible. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

You've got to lie about something...

(IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) About the nick...you've got a point, it is very kiddish, I first took it up when I started played Counter Strike and it just stuck on ever since. I've been using the same mail ids since I was maybe 12 or something and was too lazy to change it something sober. So yeah, the names are kinda hilarious.

Yes I still believe we will thrash Inter (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) If Juve can hold them off to a 1-1 draw, them Milan can do more!

Barca's performance? Did you see them last week? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) And what is your point here (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I am not even gonna bother to reply again, cuz my belief in this team is based on something more than Kaka' and any dream transfer you wet your bed for. This is a team I have followed for the past 17 yrs! My reasoning for being positive is because this team has always done something extraordinary.

And when I read through your posts, recently, all I see is a shallow insight into what this team is capable off. Maybe you should go and cheer on a team like Chelsea; they are fully equipt to your liking and guarentee you a title at the end of every season. PLUS their owner isn't shy to throw away a couple of millions to give you goose bumps. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

p.s. Don't laugh and look childish when i say Milan is the strongest team in Europe! Cuz the UEFA standings prove that they are, an achievement this exact same team reached!
