Ok, this is it! This is the turning point! This is when an era is over! And the new one looks anything but promising!

We sold these players:

Andriy Shevchenko: Our best and most valuable player! Our top scorer for the past decade and our most feared player!

Status: Condition RED! Not replaced!

Rui Costa: Kaka's sub. We were lucky to have him!
Status: Condition green! Replaced by a young and extremly talented player.

Stam: One of the best defenders in the world!
Status: Condition yellow! Replaced with Bonera. While Bonera is good, he is nowhere near Stam and that's a worrying fact considering we were struggling badly in defense even with Stam last season.

It's not looking good. In fact it looks pretty horrific.

As it's been officially announced, we are only going after Ronaldo and if a deal can't be sealed, we will settle with the players we currently have.

Our attack has gone

from Shevchenko, Inzaghi, Crespo, Tomasson

to Gilardino, Inzaghi, Amoroso, Boriello

You see the difference?
Amoroso = under average striker at the moment. He couldn't even play for Dortmound anymore.
Boriello = 0. He is absolutely lucky to be playing for Milan at the moment. He does not deserve it. His record of 10 goals in 82 Serie A appearences should be enough to sell him to Empoli or a Serie B team...

Inzaghi will most likely get injured mid-season and when he does, we will be in trouble! Big trouble! He will be fatigued too, so we can't always count on him as our first forward!

I am absolutely furious with the Milan management! Especially Berlusconi! As he was the one who stopped the negotioations for Sobis! He could have been a great buy! He did not care for Tevez, Crespo, Torres and many others! Instead, he is going for Ronaldo. An over-weight player who is struggling with an injury and lacks motivation. Even Kaka has said that!

Our defense was anything but Milan quality last season and the only reason we had a good season was because we scored a lot! Now we have lost that factor and we haven't even fixed the defense!

As things stand, I have no hopes for this season. There is not a chance we will win the CL and Serie A will be long and tough!

God be with us! rolleyes.gif
han2503
Totally and utterly right.

How can Galliani even think that just Ronaldo will be enough and if we don't get him we stay the way we are??!!!

Our defense is in shambles, it has been for the past year and a half and they have done nothing to fix it except get an inexperianced player after losing Stam.

We lose Sheva, and what do they do, they try to replace him by a past it Ronaldo. Our attack needs 2 signings, either we get both Tevez and Ronaldo or at least if we only could get Ronaldo try to find some other promising player, I'm sure that if they looked they will find someone that could take Sheva's place in the future, the Brazilian league is filled with talented forwards and they just let one get away, TO GOD DAMN RACING SANTANDER!!!!!!!!
Captain Ambro
Couldn't agree with you guys more. People(including me) have pointed this out too, but it cannot be said enough.
The Sheva-situation hasn't been resolved and I can't see how it will be. Tevez is the only decent option left and he'll probably not come, as he's not Milan's first choice while he's the first choice of United and perhaps also Chelsea.
Bonera has replaced Stam and why on earth did we sign Favalli with Serginho, Jankulovski and Maldini in left back??? But let's not shout just yet, there's still a week left to buy players and I hope for at least one of Gallas or Oddo...
florenti1
And now they buy a player like Ronaldo and rumors are - and i think these is actualy true - they give to real an option for KAKA for next year
LaPalma
You said it. We should definetely do something about this situation!

This is our line-up when we won the CL in 2003

See the Problem? We have almost the same players in our line-up more than 3 years ago.
Milan always signed older player, but it starts getting really bad. In the past the old players we signed we'e World Class. And now we buy guys like Favalli? Come on...
And Ronaldo...I mean are we still living the 20th century? I guess not, so we should let the fat guy stay right where he is.
We lost the race for Sobis to Racing Santander? Who the hell is Racing @ucking Santander compared to Milan? Our board doesn't even show interest for World Class players like Klose who could be brought here easily since they're not playing for a big club...
The other European top clubs all spent big money, lets just look at some:
Chelsea: The Ukrainian, Michael Ballck, John Obi Mikel, Boulahrouz and most likely Ashley Cole
Real Madrid:Cannavaro,Emerson, RvN,Diarra
Barcelona:Gudjohnnsen, Zambrotta, Thuram
Not to mention Inters signings.
I mean, we should sign some of those players! Everyone around us is improving their squad, and what do we do. Our squad is getting older day by day...

Yep, agree with all of your comments.. atm it does not look promising one bit..

Regarding the 2003 champions league team.. the key was how defensively stable we were. We won alot of games without conceding and generally at most conceded a single goal.

The main reason we went so well last season was only cause we scored a **** load of goals. Without king sheva.. I seriously doubt there will be a repeat of that this season.

I wasn't too concerned about the replacement for sheva (IMPOSSIBLE) providing we boosted our defensive line. I'm still hoping the braida surprise is buffon.. and maybe either or both of gallas and oddo.. we can provide a challenge in the champions league this season. Then maybe sign iaquinta or vucinic as a striker we can actually use off the bench.

At the moment I am extremely concerned.. keep checking the football italia site, hoping to see an official milan transfer.

OMG just saw this, this better only be a fucken rumour..

Premiership duo on AC Milan alert
23-08-2006 14:24

Arsenal and Manchester United are reportedly chasing AC Milan defender Kakha Kaladze, who could be made available.
Il Giornale claim that the Georgian international is ready to leave the San Siro once he has recovered from injury, with the Premiership duo understood to be interested.

The experienced defender is thought to have told coach Carlo Ancellotti of his decision to leave.
Arsenal may be favourites, as they could be seeking a replacement for Chelsea bound defender Ashley Cole.

Kakà won't leave Milan until 2011, don't worry.
jbryant1
Milan's management have been weak from the January transfer window.

It was a sign that somethings wrong. When you sign Amoroso and no new defenders.

Problem is Don Silvio turned into a major politician. His attention has not been on Milan for the past several seasons.

He lost the elections and is trying to get back into it.

Galliani is weak and I don't see what good he brings to the club.

There are no replacements for Scheva, you have to face it. We lost 20+ goals. Sobis, Tevez, and Torres are no replacement, except as a future possibility.

Thats why I am optimistic with the possibility of Ronaldo coming, at least he can come and play a forward role. I think Milan will be a new environment where he can work with Cafu, Serginoho, and Kaka. He'll get in shape.

He managed some amazing goals last season with a Madrid that was a shadow of its former self.

But how many time do we need to get Ronaldo in shape??? maybe 4 months, IF he doesn´t get injured again. And that IMO is a bet!!

I really hope that right now, Galliani and Silvio are working hard to get reinforcements. You have to remember that a couple of months ago, WE DON´T EVEN KNOW IF MILAN COULD PLAY ON SERIE A, so the other teams are running with a HUGE advantage in the mercato.

Just have some faith people!! we can crucify Silvio if we want, but ONLY when the mercato season is over.

And I also forgot to mention, Galliani's words contradict eachother and you could call him a liar:

Galliani: "Sheva will be replaced with an equal."

Galliani: "If the deal(Ronaldo) is complete, we will be pleased, if not, we are happy with the players we have."

Totally right. At the moment, I'm really dissapointed with the Milan board. We'll be fighting for the 3rd place in Serie A and to get to the quarter finals in the CL.

You can write this down, SPECIALLY if Ronaldo join us. We need a young and quality striker to pair up with the other 2 that we got. Not a fat c_nt. It's a shame for Milan. A SHAME.

No matter what we do at this point its a gamble.

Paying 20 million for Tevez or Torres is gamble in my book. They aren't guarenteed to be superstars in Italy. I do think its worth investing in one of them or both.

Ronaldo is a gamble, and if we could get a good deal on him, its not the end of the world. If they 30 million pounds for him, I'd say its out of the question.
But for 10 million euros, its nothing to Milan. He has the potential to be the best in Italy, but its a gamble.

Again I'm looking realistically at the situation at hand. There were several players in this transfer market that I would pick over Ronaldo but its too late. Milan have sat back watching all big names slip away.

Scheva scored again today---Chelsea lost---Its painful to watch.

Nope, it's a pleasure to watch! And about Tevez and Torres, they haven't developed to their max. I think we MUST buy some young players, look at our stars. Pirlo, Gattuso and Kaká were all very young when they joined us, so was the Ukrainian.
Ronaldos time is over, he won't be a superstar anywhere aynmore! Not in Italy, not in Spain, nowhere!

The single most important thing that any real Milan fan should know when it comes to the summer transfer market is that Galliani lies through his teeth. And why shouldn't he - he's great at it! I've lost count of how many times I've seen the "we're happy with what we've got" line, only for him to spring a suprise and bring in another decent player.

We owe Berlusconi everything, otherwise we'd probably be fighting for promotion in Serie B. I agree that he sometimes makes strange comments etc, but he's always delivered in the transfer market. And if rumours are to be believed, it's not like he's not trying! 75m bid for Ronaldinho!!

Let's not be so quick to jump of the back of the management, who in my eyes, have done an excellent job these last 3 or 4 seasons.

If, come September 1st, we're still in the same position we're in now, then flame away! wink.gif But at least give them a chance...

That is the best way .. Because in the end, Milan will be THE team that most teams will fear. We are still considered a difficult team to play against, we have proved that in Belgrade.

Galliani saying that 'we will be happy with the players we have' means that Real, you either accept our offer or you can forget about us asking .. and no Kaka is not for sale .. So whats up ?!

Since this morning we have been linked with almost everyone .. This is OUR time in the market .. And we have the upper hand since there is no more competition in the market to match Milan's $$$.

I agree that what we've seen from the Milan board in the past 2 years is in some way carelessness. There have been no real reinforcements for the OBVIOUSLY ageing defence and there's been no real movement to replace Shevchenko. This whole situation is driving me mad, it feels to me like we're driven into some balck period again cause I can't see we spend BIG next summer all of sudden when we are going to have even more and bigger "losses".However I'm not (harshly) hitting on our sleepy board till the end of the month.

On the other hand I don't have the authority to ask you not to do so but therefore I can't take it when people forget!!!! Some guys here have been like "Hey don't bash Sheva he did it for his family ... bla ... bla ... You shouldn't forget what he's offered to Milan ... bla ... bla ... bla" while now they seem to just forget themselves what Silvio's offered to Milan.Heck, who brought Shevchenko here in the first place. When he travelled to Ukraine to persuade his father, was he good back then????

Now I can get your frustration, which is no bigger than mine, but saying Galliani and Berlusconi can go to hell is just TOO BIG AND HARSH!!!! You'll really regret those words when they'll be really gone for good, I'm sure of that!!!!!

If Milan will fail this year, I'm pretty sure our board will make big deals for the next season. First of all casue Billy and Paolo will drop it, and then cause Milan can't stay 3 years without a trophy. Believe me, if we don't win anything this season, there will be big movement for the next one.

I wish those big movements would have been this summer instead. Two years without a single trophy is also on the verge of unacceptable for a club like Milan, even though they've faced stiff competition. This is turning out to be the worse mercato in years for Milan, but let's do like dst says: wait for another week before we officially execute Silvio and Adriano...

Would signing Ronaldo be such a disaster? I don't think so. It certainly is risky though. But where are the alternatives? Torres is good. No doubt about that, but can he justify the 30mill pounds he's likely to cost in a difficult league and perform where some of his compatriots (Jose Mari, etc) failed? Tevez - if he's that good, why has he failed to get a team in europe so far, despite his agent's efforts in the past two seasons? Iaquinta? Don't even talk about that. The available talents, Milan quality that is, is really in short supply at the moment. That's why I believe Ronaldo still have something to offer. He's certainly one of the best out there if motivated and on form. He's yet to win the scudetto and the cl. He still wants to play for the Brazil and Dunga has made it clear that he has to shed some weight to be in the NT. To me, the above are enough to motivate him, plus he wants out of Real. Milan Lab can take care of that waisteline of his if he comes. But, I think 20mill is way too much considering his age, the uncertainty of whether he would be back to his best or not. 15-17mill is okay I believe. It is risky as I said, but worth it at the right price.

How can you say that? I know I complained before about what we have been doing in the transfer market, and I'm still not totally setisfied because I still think we need a couple of defenders and maybe another forward, but I would never suggest that Silvio should leave.

Milan have become one of the most successful teams in the world because of Silvio, he is the driving force behind Milan and if he ever decided to sell Milan I don't know if we would be able to stay on top and competing for every trophy till the end every year.
