Official Cassano to Parma.

Quite the downfall.

It's funny when the swap with Pazzini occurred last summer, the interisti were all so excited. One year after, they finished 9th and sold him to Parma, whereas Pazzini scored 16 goals in the league for us. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Some would even add that our management from time to time isn't as insane as it looks. But I know han won't agree, the stubborn penguin he is (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Galliani obviously didn't see this through. Cassano had just managed a very good World Cup, we had lost Ibra, Pato was injured, SES hadn't exploded yet, of course selling him wasn't good for us. Especially since we paid €7 million for Pazzini, as well. But we got lucky, cos Inter and Cassano in the end sucked, whilst we signed Balo afterwards and finished 3rd.

But you make it sound very one-sided. First of all, signing Balotelli was also Galliani's work. Second, SES did explode actually. Third, I think it was quite foreseeable that Cassano's career is going downhill. The mere fact that he had a good Euro (not WC (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ) but we decided to sell him anyway tells you there was enough baggage to make such a decision. And obviously Inter couldn't deal with it either.

If you ask me, it was quite foreseeable. Don't get me wrong, I blame Galliani and the management for many things, but not for a moment did I believe the were such fools.

Foreseeable? We would have never sold Cassano had he not asked to be sold. After Ibra's departure, him and Pato were supposed to be leading our attack. And it's not like Galliani knew since August that we would sign Balotelli in January. And nobody even thought about SES exploding. Things just happened as they happened, and we simply were lucky, that is all.

QUOTE
Mario Gomez’s move from Bayern Munich to Fiorentina has been completed, the German side's official website has confirmed.

The Bundesliga club have come to an agreement with the Viola for a €16m move.

The Tuscan side are set to pay Pep Guardiola’s men the fee over a period of four years, plus €4m more in add-ons.

Gomez has become one of the most sought-after striker in Europe in recent season, with Napoli, Atletico Madrid and Arsenal all reportedly interested.

A bit surprising that he chose them. Good addition for the league.

Gomez is somewhat of a gamble. Technically he's crap, but he can score shitloads of goals given the right conditions. But €20 million sounds rather expensive, at least for a Serie A team. And the guy is 27. I thought he was 24 or 25.

Toni did good. I think Gomez will do even better, given he makes the transition to Serie A football.

I wonder why Bayern sold him, though. Don't they need a second striker choice? Mandzukic can't play all games.

Because Gomez didn't want to be a second choice and rightfully so. He scored about 120 goals in 4 years there.
