Dude, you do realize that Berlusconi doesn't give two shits anymore whether we're competitive or not. The guy sold our two best players to balance the books, welcomed foreign investors publicly for the first time, and is about to enter into politics again. Apparently Galliani was very angry to Allegri about our 5-1 loss to Madrid. All the major Italian sport papers are reporting it. "We're not Solbiatese. Nine changes is way too many, the coach made a mistake", were some of Galliani's words.

Galliani should shut the hell up cause we can't afford sacking Allegri.It's just a friendly,and I believe Allegri was trying to get the maxium in terms of testing players against some real opposition.Yes,it backfired..but after all it is a friendly.I understand that Galliani has always Milan's image mind,but they should about how selling Thiago Silva,and Ibra made us look as well.

Galliani: “Allegri made a mistake, I’m pissed!”

ADRIANO GALLIANI was reportedly angry with Allegri, saying Max simply blew it against Real Madrid.

The Real Madrid game was not just a meaningless pre-season game for Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani it appears as the chief executive was reportedly very angry after losing to Jose Mourinho’s side.

Milan were beaten badly on the pitch of the packed-Yankee Stadium in New York on Wednesday. Milan held on in the first half (1-1) despite being objectively the weaker team but conceded 4 goals in the 2nd half.

“Can you believe that? Nine changes, nine! The coach (Massimiliano Allegri) had made a serious mistake and I’m going to tell him that,” Adriano Galliani is quoted as saying to reporters after the match on today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport. “When you play against Real Madrid, you shouldn’t be thinking that way.

“We are in New York, in front of 60,000 people, full stadium; all eyes are on the game, millions of eyes on the TV. It’s not a friendly game against Solbiatese.” Other sources, including il Corriere dello Sport report reports what Galliani said is that “Milan are not Solbiatese.” He continued: “Mourinho made 9 changes? Have you seen Real’s bench? Kaka, Higuain, Xabi Alonso, Ramos, Albiol, Arbeloa. World champions.

“Nine changes shouldn’t be made. It was a mistake. I’m pissed off – write that down!” Galliani also said according to il Corriere dello Sport: “It was a lack of respect towards the fans and the crowd in an important stadium against an opponent of prestige … I don’t give a damn if Real Madrid made eleven changes.”

Galliani is definitely furious with coach Massimiliano Allegri and this could lead to a few things – perhaps even on the market though it’s unlikely since funds continue to be very very limited for the Rossoneri.

Milan captain Massimo Ambrosini has admitted that his teammates are nervous going into the new season off the back of a heavy pre-season defeat to Real Madrid.

Los Blancos hit five past the Rossoneri this week, much to the frustration of Massimiliano Allegri and Adriano Galliani and Ambrosini admits that it is taking its toll on the much-changed outfit.

“We are sad because it was a bad impression, so it is normal to be nervous after a defeat like that,” the veteran told Milannews.it upon the team’s return to Italy today.

“It must be said that we’ve also played a team much stronger than us. This season, teams like Real are not at the same level as Milan, we are aware that we are one or two steps below these big clubs.

“At present, however, it is important for us to find the right spirit that this team will then have all season.

“This team is aware that times have changed because we have lost so many important players. This pre-season has helped us capture a greater awareness of this.

For once Allegri is not at fault. It's so rich coming from Galliani, what does he expect? We played a dismantled squad against Madrid superstar team, they make changes and guys like Kaka and Higuain come in, we make a change and Traore comes in (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Galliani is pissed because, there were a whole lot of fans there and media, and they had come in expecting a great spectacle. Instead he feels Max Allegri used it as a training ground exercise with multiple subs etc...when he feels they should instead have been trying to make a hard fight out of it.

Don't forget it was being marketed as a meeting of two high profile clubs (to rival Barca vs Man Utd also happening), and instead it turned out to be a walkover.

In the first half, they were the stronger side, but we were still holding our own. In the second half, we fell apart. Why? Obviously coz our second string is nowhere as good as Madrid's. I don't think all the subs were particularly necessary.

Perhaps Galliani even felt that Allegri was trying to 'show-up' obvious weaknesses in the team as a passive-aggresive protest.

Either way, now we know that we need to step up and that there is a definite gulf in class.

That's what friendlies are for. what's the point of playing your best XI, get a draw or a light defeat and have Galliani come out and talk **** about how competitive we are? let's not fool ourselves.



I was pissed at the result too, but tell me it's not easier to take a defeat like this in a pre-season friendly than in a CL quarter final. I think playing against one of the world's top 3 strongest teams with our crappy, crippled team was a mistake in the first place and Gllainai is at fault before anyone else. he better do his own business which was supposed to be adding a few good players to the team (I'm not gonna say "champions" even though that's what he said). and his angry interview isn't going to help the team in any way, it'll only put extra pressure on them and Allegri. another mistake from Baldy.
