I've never seen the guy play, but from what I've just seen in the video you posted, he seem much more of an attacking player than vB. More of a Box-to-Box maybe than say an anchor man?

I saw hardly any defensive plays to consider him a 'natural heir'.

Just my take on it (again, just from what I have seen in the video)

Defensive parts of the game are no fun to add in such video. Strootman easily can play box-to-box for us, but so can many others and we need someone to play anchor for us, which he can too. This season he has been PSV most defensive midfielder, with no real support from other midfielders (most of the season with Wijnaldum (later switched positions with Labyad) who keeps forgetting to defend, and Toivonen who is a forward as their AM). Strootman is easily PSV most important player. A poor defense, and Strootman being the only real support to it, but also having his importance in creating attacks, made it really impressive what he did, and was to me the best player in the league. Later in the season he has been off form though (and then Vertonghen was the best, who was off form earlier season). PSV had no leader, and Strootman came closest to being the leader for this PSV team, at the age of 22.

These videos usually only show the "nice" plays, usually, unless it's a defender compilation, it's mostly about goals and nice passes

Roma will also be leaving. We need to find a new third GK.

La Gazzetta now writes that Inzaghi might not leave either. He also said after the game that he'll decide with Galliani about his future.

LOL, what the hell is going on? Why not also change Nesta's and Gattuso's minds and everybody stays. We need to MOVE ON!

Let them be. They have a right to decide whether they stay or not. They don't hold us back, if anyone is holding us back it's the management and coach. Isn't that obvious?

Surely Pippo staying wouldn't change a thing, but it's all this stepping back attitude, considering everything that happened today, which is quite baffling. First Seedorf, now Inzaghi. It's like we're tied to the past and we don't want to let go.

And management, of course. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Who knows they may already be tired of paying the hefty salaries (plus taxes), and that's coming in the way of allocating more funds to new transfers. I still hold the view that only Nesta and Bommel should have been tried and kept at all costs for another season or two, the rest shaken hands with.

Of course, both players had other ideas (while they can still give a lot). It seems other players have other ideas too!

He hasn't decided yet. Check the Seedorf thread.
