Van Bommel will sign for PSV on Monday.

Link

Today (10 May) Nesta will announce that he'll sign with New York Red Bulls for two years.

Link

About van Bommel it says that his will to return home was the decisive factor. As for Nesta, it says he asked for a two-year contract, but the club didn't accept.

If we get toreplace Nesta by obganna then it's alright,it will be very sad though that the master of defence will leave...
I don't know who will we replace Van Bommel with,I wish these big changes will be for the good.Seddorf's leaving for sure as well.

Great how this policy implementation functions. It's now 2 seasons in a row that we lose (for free) our best senator and keep the least helpful ones. Brilliant change of course, brilliant! I'm so proud of Milan I could jump!

Yeah Ogbonna is great. All we need is a Serie B defender to replace world class.

In truth,I don't think anyone can replace Nesta, but the ultimate truth is that his time has come to an end.You can say that Obganna is a serie B defender, but the fact that he has been called up for the senior team, and didn't he show flexiblity by being able to play as a fullback? The new policy seems harsh but I agree with it.No more then 1 seaaon contracta for above 30yr old players.Surely, some might accept, and some won't.

Well I simply don't agree with it. It's simply stupid that these decisions are not made on a case by case basis. Pirlo and Nesta were players that still had a lot to offer to Milan, thus allowing some leeway shouldn't have been a problem while guys like Rino, Ambro, Seedorf, Pippo and Zambro should fall under such a policy.

It's just stupid. Now we have to replace Nesta, VB, get at least 1 more creative mid plus Monto, a new LB to replace Zambro, etc, etc.

I'll be damned if we can't offer Nesta a two year contract. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Other player's time is up, but Nesta is sort of a gem that is still very, very useful, even in the toughest of matches. Remember the Barcelona group-stage game in September (the one where Pato and Silva scored, 2-2), Nesta was immense there.

Basically, no...

This failure to win this Scudetto could prove to be more costly than it really is if the management fail to replace all these players. Because I can't see us doing anything in the near future if players like Nesta, VB, Seedorf and Rino/Ambro are not replaced

From twitter..

QUOTE
Nesta: "In February I decided that it would be my last season for Milan. I told it to the board as well."

Nesta: "The board asked me to stay for one more year, but I had already made my decision."

Nesta: "I'm leaving because the level in the Serie A, CL and CI is too high for me now. I will go and play where the level is lower."

Nesta: "Who will be the future Nesta? He is already here. It's Thiago Silva."

It seems it was nothing at all to do with a contract, certainly judging by the 3rd point he made.

It's not just about ability it's about DESIRE as well. A 36 year old Nesta is ready to go while a 38 year old Inzaghi saw himself as still being vital to our team. Pirlo left us mentally since '08 while Seedorf soldiered on despite being older. Ambro only became a better cdm than Rino after the latter's physique drastically declined.

Ambrosini has always been a better cdm than Rino. Rino is better as a rcdm. Both have been undervalued the latest years in my opinion. Ambrosini actually has played good for us this season, not always, while he often gets tired.

Anywho, if Nesta feels like moving to USA is a good decision, I will support his decision. Thanks for everythin, Sandro.

Nesta: "Ancelotti was the most important coach in my career, not only because of what we won but also due to his personal characteristics."

Nice quote from Nesta towards Ancelotti. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Gattuso might not re-sign for another year, if he doesn't feel at the center of the new project.
