QUOTE (X-Offender @ Jul 15 2012, 09:21 PM) No great names being linked for defense. At this point, I'd go with Rolando. Him, Tevez, a DM and a LB are extremely vital, if we want to make the Champions League for next season. Tevez not leaving, LB will probably be Urby, DM Monty. thats the pessermist in me (IMG: style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

I think you're exaggerating a little. Yes, lots of players left us but hey quality > quantity. I still believe we have the best attacking in SerieA and pretty decent squad able to be contender for a CL spot. If we somehow manage to do better regarding the medical staff and training methods in order to avoid such injuries, I honestly believe we can grab the 3rd place. But I'm not pleased with that. I really wish we pay the debts, balance the books and for once reduce the wage bill to a point where we dont loose but we actually earn by not having to spend the revenues on wages, at least not all of them. I'm confident that can happen knowing that the wage bill reduced from €160million to a reported sum of €81million. That means that we reduced the wages for 50%=€80million/year. Knowing that we usually get a negative budget of -€60-70million, that means that we actually can get a positive budget from the next year. Nevertheless, a CB to replace Silva, a creative midfielder and a striker to replace Ibra are the MUST's of this transfer window. With Rolando who costs €12million and a wage of €1.8million, Poli who costs €6million and a striker (I'm not going to name anyone, but I prefer Balotelli and/or Destro if Robinho leaves) who can cost max. 25million with wages up to €5 million/year, we can create a Scudetto contender team and reach Semifinals in CL with a formation: First team: Abbiati Abate - Rolando - Arcebi - Emanuelson Montolivo - Poli - Nocerino Boateng Pato - ??? Second: Amelia De Sciglio - Mexes - Bonera/Yepes - Antonini/Didac Traore - Flamini - Constant Cassano Robinho - El Shaarawy FORZAMILAN!

QUOTE (maldini03 @ Jul 15 2012, 03:28 PM) I am not to confident in the idea of bringing in Rolando, I would much prefer to go italian and bring in Ogbonna... +1 there was talks of getting him for mesbah, half of strasser, and cash. I don't know why we haven't pulled the trigger on that deal.

Look, if we keep thinking we're going to play the same way we did last season, then for sure we're screwed. There's no way you can replace the players we lost.
But I'm sure Allegri will know that as well, and think of a new plan with the players he's got. I keep repeating, Juve got to where they were with just 2 bonafide stars, one of whom as a goalkeeper.
We can do well. Maybe not win anything but do well. Even with no replacements and we stay as we are, I think that without injuries we are good for top 7.
I criticise Allegri a lot, but he isn't that bad a coach.
